I never forced them. I was threatened as well, yet somehow I'm guilty of leaving. Alright, well that was my experience again, only this time I decided to post.

No, because they'll just blame everyone else in the run for being bad, ragequit, and start a PF with absurd comments like "know ur role perfectly, will rep after 1 wipe". You can't coddle lazy/bad players, because they never accept that they're the reason the group failed.

There's no reason not to use BotD even before you hit 60. The damage boost to Jump and SSD is nothing to sniff at, and given that it only has a one-minute cooldown, it'll come back up at multiple times during most fights. Plus it's oGCD so it's not like working it in causes you to have to adjust your rotation at all either.

Had a DRG similar to that one earlier in Neverreap. My god she was so bad, never used a single move from HW and refused to even use her DoTs, so the run took around 35 minutes instead of the 20-25 it should have taken. I was running BRD so while my rotation is excellent, I can't make up for that lost damage.

He insulted you, you said, but you said his laziness was why you left, not his insults.


Think of it from the other 2 players perspective, running along doing a dungeon, beat the first boss then boom. Tank leaves, most likely that drg left too. 2 people wasted 10 minutes all because you cant deal with a less then average player.

I don't think it's childish at all. When I sign up for a duty, I'm there to party with 3 other people. They expect me to fulfill a role, I expect them to do the same. I do as much as I can, healing, DPS, fixing mistakes, offering strats as necessary. Sure, I don't expect everyone to be performing at top standards, but when I see someone bottoming out on the DPS charts while playing one of the highest potential DPS classes in the game, it really puts a damper on how much myself and others have done to keep the run moving.

I hate leaving runs, as I'm always thinking of the ones I left behind, whether they will get a replacement or have to wait in the queue again, or if they won't even have time for another run today because they have to log off soon. But some days we just don't feel as compassionate, maybe you already dealt with a run of idiots in the DF, or idiots at work, or whatever reason put you in a bad mood. If a DPS is called out for being so sub-par that it needs to be called out, I'd want something done about it. If they don't shape up or get kicked, I'd rather leave and hope to join a group that appreciates my efforts by at least offering some effort of their own.

Imagine a healer that uses no Protect, no pre-battle buffs, doesn't do any DPS, spends most of their time idle, and only heals the tank when they're below 20% HP, where a simple mistake or missed AoE could kill them. Sounds a bit lazy, right? Downright lazy, and endangering the party. In no way would I want a healer like that in my party. Just like I wouldn't want an "I do what I want" DPS that performs miserably in my party. If you wouldn't want a tank that doesn't tank or a healer that doesn't heal, why would you accept a DPS that doesn't DPS?

I've dropped a few dungeons before too. If I've gone out of my way to explain things, to try to improve the situation and it's not improving based upon the attitude of the player. Then your darn tootin' that i'll drop that duty like a bad habit. I don't join DF to give handouts and neither should anyone else.

That's not to say that I drop when someone just meets the gear requirement or I can see that they are attempting to correct mistakes ( I actually commendate based on this), but I will not settle for somebody wasting 15 minutes extra of my time because they are tired, or hungry, or they already raided, etc.

I never said they insulted me, but that I felt insulted when they linked an Alexander Savage item to excuse their will to be carried through the run.

I'm someone who gives it all no matter what, I expect some sort or commitment back, not someone who's all like "I don't feel like doing it". You may like it or not, but whoever defends that behaviour speaks out loud for them, and I'm hoping I never, ever come across you if you're that kind of player.

The sooner I can get out of Neverreap, the better. So I always try to do my best and get the run over and done with. One time, had a fantastic DRG in the party (I'm BLM) and we beat the final boss before it could go into "I'm annoying. Kill my farts" mode a third time.

Anyway, you could have kicked the DRG from the party after they threatened you. Could probably kick them for being lazy, too (intentionally didn't meet parties expectations).

This is sadly a common experience for me. I see:
- Tanks never use their defensive cooldown.

- DPS never use their cooldown aswell and I noticed that the dps classes which have use a certain skill to get % amount of extra dps , never use them.

- Healers never prepare for big damage spells, they rather wait till the players are very low hp.

- (This is more of a choice then lazy) As a healer whenever I do Leveling Roulette or High Roulette, I have always 90% mana left, so I help the group by doing dps. When I tank or dps in a Leveling Roulette, I get a healer who sits on 90% mana left and does nothing in a fight. I know that one plays a healer to heal, but standing there doing nothing is pointless, so why not help and finish the run faster?

- Bard never use their songs, even the one that increases the dps of other players.

- As a Summoner whenever a healer dies, I ress the healer and we continue. Yesterday something happend and the healer died, I was playing as a Ninja, so I could not help. There was a summoner and he did nothing. When the group asked why he did not ress the healer, he answered with "I am dps, I did not join to ress others". I have seen this happen alot of times, I dont understand why people are so lazy?

Well you don't know the others' mind set. Your healer might simply feel uncomfortable switching to Cleric Stance, fearing to be unable to bring their healing when needed. A legitimate issue when you're not entirely familiar with healing in this game. Personally I never try DPSing as healer until I get a feeling for those random players in my group.


Generally I do not think it is our place to judge how others play, at least not as long as things go fine. If that's not the case you may start giving advice (!), not before. Who cares if you agree on how Fred Anonymous uses his CDs as long as that doesn't wipe you? I certainly do not, and I don't want others to judge my play style just as well. There is no definite right or wrong to these things, as much as some want everyone to play by the doctrine of class guides.

Trash mobs hit harder then boss fights too, I dislike tanks who pull five groups and pop zero CDs >.>... If you are lazy in dungeon to the party then why do those people expect commendations? I only give commendations to nice people and people who are doing their best.

Tanks are now trolled and disrespected, for real.. I a warrior search in my list, FC, LS for people to run with.. Because when I DF and get insta queue, I get horrible players.. I don't mind so-so lazy, but not crappy attitude.

I am thankful that high-level and expert allows pre-made parties, otherwise I might think of quitting playing as a Tank once and for all.

About healers just standing around in leveling roulette, for myself especially in the start part of the run I give it a bit to see how the rest of the group balances out. And some places while things are seeming to go well can be just hazards waiting to happen where I might need to go healing spree on moments notice. If the group seems to handle stuff, I shift more and more to the dmg side but only when I know it's safe to do.

df is terrible, but it really doesn't have much to do with role. If you were a healer you'd complain about tanks/dps. If you were a dps you'd complain about tanks/healers. You've just experienced it as a tank.

I've been called "literally the worst healer ever" because a tank (who had full law vit jewelry, but nq questing whites on the left side... so no mdef/def) died after taking 4 vulnerability stacks in Fractal. I've been told I have shitty aggro management because I pulled hate as blm even with quelling strikes on standard rotations.

I love being lazy when I'm a 58 SCH doing LL roulette and I get Deepcroft. I just /follow the tank and afk for 20min as Eos heals everything flawlessly. Healing a level 19 dungeon is probably the most boring thing in the game.

I tanked Tam Tara NM once with a bunch of over geared i130 50s. That healer got really buissy when I started pulling entire floors like is was Bryflox HM. lol good times.

I tend to be really little in cleric stance tbh.
Why? Because there is always that 1 person that gets hits by everything.
As an atrologian i have 1 shit button and i don't wanna use it on stupid nonsense like that when the tank might require it a bit later.
However when i was a scholar in 2.x i was in cleric stance a lot more, a fairy backing you up does wonders.

Honestly, and I mean no disrespect to anyone here or the OP, but I see 2 things.

1. is the lazy player as you call it.
2. is the impatient and angry 'pro' player.

Both are problems. In your example, you asked if he were using a skill. He replied with something. It was actually you who then starts to be a little bit elitist/rude.

This is just as bad to be in a party with. It doesn't help that he was wouldn't take your advice but honestly, i'd rather be in a party with someone not using a skill (which often, like in my own case, is because they are new and doesn't know necessarily they should use it) than someone who complains and starts arguments in chat the whole run.

Honestly that is worse to me. Like we did camp westwind yesterday and about 5-6 people were new. The tank got majorly angry and shouting at people after 1 wipe. 1 wipe in a trial which over half the people hadn't seen yet. That made the experience worse than the people who caused the wipe in my opinion.

I agree both are about equal in terms of being an issue, I see it a lot on the Trial roulette...it is extremely fast source of Law even if you wipe once or twice and people will complain while the first attempt is still going on that people weren't perfect. That is a frustrating behavior and can only hope the person is very young and not some older, immature person.

This! Particularly during the first half of a duty, I hold off on DPSing to gauge how much damage the group takes and how much I'm needed. Once/ if I'm comfortable, you'll get your gosh darn DPS. If you still see me not turning on CS but you're not taking much damage, more likely than not there'll be a special snowflake in the group who drops to 50% the minute I start to cast Stone.

It's better I stand there for an extra two seconds and keep everyone topped up rather than throwing out a flimsy Stone and end up with half the DPS on low HP just to please grouchy players.

Really, I've seen a lot of players whose actions make me go "...?", but if they're doing their job, it's not my place to tell them how to play.

I wish I had the mentality of someone who enjoys spending 50 minutes in Neverreap/Fractal. That amount of patience is godlike.

No, you're not an eltist.. If there is more proper way to put it, you are a "rage quitter" who quits when seeing "arrogant" players.. It is however within your right to quit the dungeon being noble about declaring thigs you personally dont like, however as much as you aknowledged it, the dungeons can still be cleared in that instance, and yet you prefer to ragequit with personal reason, as much equally as the lazy player who has personal desicion in choosing skills to use..
