Lightning Event 2015?

Either in Cash Shop or they might revive them again for the anniversary event. Honestly I hope no to both!

Yes it was supposed to be a limited event but was brought back multiple times and i have the Lightning outfit as my PLD glam so really would not want everyone to be running around in that ;)
But... i sure did love those fates. Oh how great it was myself, my choco and Lightning together completing fates it was a blast.

I finished the last fate and had the package but wasn't able to get to 45 in time before the event ended :/ I got so close was at 44 but I couldn't turn in the item so i am missing that one piece to complete the set. Stupid level req to turn in quest -.- (I had just started playing when that event happened I level grinded like crazy) I would really like to complete the outfit

LOL this title "Lightning Event 2015?" Didn't it already happen again this year?

I mean, SE could do it a fourth time...but if so, it begs the question, say they do it this month, in August: In November someone else will make this thread again: "Lightning Event 2015?" and I'll be asking them, where they were 3 months ago.... lol

They really need to do something about Lighting Return items because there will always be people who missed out on it due to not playing the game when the even happened, but mostly because there'll always be new players joining and they would want the item. Her returning now won't help when new players are constantly joining

While I'd rather not have her return, it's not like it's going to affect me if her event springs up again. It's not like we're forced to do her event and at the very least people who missed out on it will get it.

If people just want the outfit and hairstyle, I can understand that. In the gold saucer there are tokens you can buy that give you the ponytail hairstyle.

If they wanted to, they could make a "Lightning gift set" with her hairstyle in a token form (to turn in to hairstylist), and her full outfit and just hand it out or something.

The event was pretty boring to be honest. If people want the items, I say just give it to them so they don't have to farm the fates. The fates are mostly the same low level fates that are already in the game, but Lightning comes as NPC to help. There is a final fate where you fight a boss or something in mordhona, maybe they could put that fight into a little duty finder encounter and when you do it you just get all the items.

Farming fates is booooring. Just give people the items from the event and call it a day I say. :P

There are lots of events people missed out on if they just started.... I'm not sure why people focus in on this one so much. I'd just say give people the items that want. Unlock all the event items and hand them out for free or cash shop. It's whatever. It's not like there is any prestige or anything for having them. It's just a game lol and that event is long past.

On a side note though, it would be cool if there was some item that you could wear or something that you had to do something difficult to get. But there is not...boo It's fun to have something to work for. Maybe the new relic quest can fill that void.

I just want to know what they would name the event after all of the times it happened.

Lightning Strikes: All the Damn Time.

The best and most reasonable chance for this happening would be in conjunction with the release of Lightning Returns on Steam... whenever that happens. It's supposed to be this year isn't it?

I'm only interested if they come up with a FFXIII themed great sword for dark knight.

Don't expect it to look cool. The WAR weapon still has me raging over the fact that it isn't actually the size it is in 13's game.

I would like to be able to get the items and hairstyle.. I don't care if it through the Casp Shop even though I'd like to participate in the event.

If it's gonna come back, I'd expect it to actually be this month. Last year they brought it back in August for the anniversary of A Realm Reborn.

Having it come back for a while would be good. The FATEs are cool and have Lightning fighting XIII monsters to the battle theme of XIII. I find XIII to be the weakest link in the series aside from II, but I still find that to be a really enjoyable callback. Hell, maybe add weapons for DRK, MCH, and AST to get long time players interested in helping out with the FATEs. In any case, it would shake up how we level up, even a little bit. Variety is nice.

Bringing the event around every so often doesn't remove the items' status as "limited edition," either. More people may have access to the items, but honestly, what's wrong with that?

No, Because you know what will happen? once this generation of players get the hairstyle/items a few months/years later, the newer players will also ask for it to come back, then after that, the next wave will ask, and so on and so on.

It's just not going to end, Had to deal with lightning in 3 different games, and 3 times IN ARR. I think i have had my fill of that girl for a lifetime. even cloud did not get this much attention. I think...

PS: her hair looks silly anyway (imo)

You make it sound like you HAVE to participate. What's so wrong with it coming back once or twice a year? I legitimately don't understand why people are up in arms with allowing other people to enjoy content.

Because it was orginaly a 1 TIME PROMOTION, it was already brought back TWICE due to people crying. You can "enjoy content" so long as you understand you can't have every single thing in the game.

No one is "up in arms" with allowing people to enjoy content, the problem ISN'T wanting people to enjoy content, it's people up in arms that they missed an event that was for a LIMTED TIME, and cannot accept they can't get the items they were not here for.

i don't want it to come back because it simply wouldn't make sense. if they brought it back and added weapons for the new jobs, i wouldn't complain. but i doubt they will.


i have nothing against the items being placed in the CS however.

So many people trying to hide behind the words "promotion" and "1 time thing", trying so hard to avoid saying "I just want to be a special snowflake and don't want anyone else to have what I have"

I'm so sick of Lightning. I was sick of her after the first 20 minutes of FF13. 99% of the FF13 cast can go hang themselves. The 1% exception is Snow.

i think say they killed them self is going to far. i found snow wasn't very good hero. he tried be hero but he fail prove himself as one. I happen like lightning because i can relate to her because how she no emotion i was born with asperger so i can relate to her. the truth is she had emotion it was hard for her relate to others. i like female stronger character but i believe male stronger character work with her is good editions. if any ff character i dislike was cloud he was cold blood

Snow hair is really a joke IMO. Why the hell they put the bandana as a one with the hair? Why don't just put it as vanity headgear and let the Snow hair alone? It doesn't suit with any headgear except you turn off the headgear.

I honestly wonder to what degree the FF7 cast's personalities were misinterpreted due to the dodgy translation of the original release of FF7. FFT's original PS1 translation was pretty wacky too.

I wonder why its not in the mog station already. Maybe its because the gear has stats? It is level 13 gear. If they do bring the event back for the anniversary(kinda hope they don't but thats just me) at least put some new weapons up. I'd like Sazh's gun for Machnist.

Maybe so, but I feel like it expresses my vehement dislike for Lighting quite well. I've been told that she gets better toward the end of the game. I have a difficult time believing that. I used to have a conundrum about Lightning, actually. At one point I started to ask myself, "Why do I hate Lightning? If it's for the way she acts, shouldn't I technically hate Squall, too?" And the more I thought on this, the more I started to feel that I secretly liked Lightning. And then I took a good, hard look at both of them. I dislike Lightning, but I love Squall.

Did they? I don't know much about what they said about Lightning. A buddy of mine told me one day that he thinks the creator of FF13 made her his second wife, because his office is full of Lightning, Lightning, and more Lightning. Maybe he has a Lightning blow-up doll in there somewhere. Maybe that's why Lightning keeps coming back.

Can't wait for the VII remake event that will reward us with other final fantasy glamours.
