I've been pretty critical of Dark Knights based on what I'd been reading, but when I saw that video of a DRK not only holding his ground in Alex Savage but DOMINATING it, it got my blood heated and I knew I had to try it again. So I grabbed my two-handed goat slayer and went full RT on the Darkside and started spam running Dusk Vigil until I got it right.
And it was great because I finally had my breakthrough with the class. I finally learned how to keep Darkside up all the time (for trash too, not just saving it for bosses), a good opener (Dark arts + the threat combo), dps combo (dark arts + soul stealer!!!), plus the set it and forget it AOE tanking. Basically, I got my timing down, and now a job I hated two days ago is a job I'm addicted to now. As it turns out, it really isn't that complicated at all. It only seems overwhelming because of the skill bloat, but once you've carved out your rotation, you become a juggernaut.
Plus I got the full Ishgardian Knight's set from all those DV runs, so it was a pretty good day.
