I feel like my threat as paladin, trash and boss alike, is uncomfortably low.

What I do, is Shield lob while running, circle, flash, then go into tab targeting RoH combos, using circle on cooldown. If dps has 30% or more of their hate bar empty I'll start working in goring blade combos.

I've gotta second this. For getting enmity, flash is mediocre. The advantage is that it gets enmity on everyone.
I've not levelled my main class to 60 yet. I'm enjoying the story and RL and stuff. But I've never had a problem retaining aggro with my PLD. When you find yourself with PLENTY of aggro on the second/third/fourth mobs of a trash pull and fighting valiantly for the attentions of the first mob, you've used too much flash.

If its AoE pulls, all you need is two initial flash, then tab target RoH the mobs. Watch for the ones the stronger DPS like melees are focused on. Then CoS+Flash every time its up. Or honestly, sometimes depending on the lower level dungeons, you can just Riot Blade+ Flash spam to maintain the same amount of mp while tab targeting through mobs, and even thats enough to hold hate lol.

Well the document says: Maim: potency*1.2(works on flash)

Which is why I was wondering if there is any data for it someplace. FoF clearly says physical so again no disparity. Though shield oath and defiance say only changes the damage, and turning them off and on has no change on attack power. You say it was proven because of flash so is there data?

Yes I'm only lvl 42 as a paly, but so far all I really need is that single flash before tab targeting through pieces of the enmity combo(1-2 on target, 3-1 the next, 2-3 next, etc). I just shield lob to get attention and gather, flash, then start that cycle. If mobs health is less than 10% I focus on the rest of trash. Haven't had any complaints yet.
