shaving eyebrows allows you swim fast like shark. git it did

also, when you are in an intense situation, shaving eyebrows allows for the beading sweat from your forehead to enter your eyes, thus giving you immeasurable insight to the battle about to unfold.

Don't forget blood from cuts above the eyes. Anyways, that's always been my biggest issue. You can talk about the belly window in Drachen Mail all you want, but at least you can wear different armor. Highlanders can't equip eyebrows.

I just want to know the real reason male Highlanders don't have an eyebrow option. Don't say lore.. lore is not a genetic trait that forces all Highlanders to continually shave their eyebrows every time they grow back. One just has to look at the Highlander NPCs scattered about Eorzea to realize they are not part of a hive mind that is expected to behave in one particular way.

So.. the real reason, please. Is it resource limitations? If so, it's a little disappointing that you found a way to plug in an entire new race (with two genders!) and a crap-ton of new items, mobs, locations, etc, yet couldn't squeeze in an option for eyebrows on one gender of one race.

Yoshi P. The idea behind Highlanders shaving their eyebrows was a nice attempt at lore but it's not working. You don't have to admit that it was a fail, just include eyebrows for Highlanders and call it a day.

I think they have exhausted their last excuse by giving Au Ra the ability to decide between eyebrows or no eyebrows.

The lore is, that giving them eyebrows would cause them to implode. This has been called PS3 limitations by some Eorzean scholars.

No but seriously, a female Miqo'te doesn't have a butt because they toned it down to make more room for other things, Au Ra horns are attached to their faces because they can't cram anything else in. It wouldn't surprise me if this was following along that same line. <.<

You would be 100% correct, if it wasn't for the fact that Au Ra have the option. I wonder how much data is in an eyebrow anyways?

I dunno, I wouldn't figure one more additional facial option would kill it, but you never know with "Ps3 limitations".

The PS3's 256 mb of ram can't carry the weight of the highland eyebrows.

I hope they phase out PS3 before they phased out PS2 for FFXI. That console held that game back big time.

Probably not ... it's in the lore and we know how they take lore. The most we can hope for is more fake eyebrow options in the face paint section of the aesthetician

Lore is a simple cop-out though. It can't be hard to simply make your playerbase happy and add something that's almost universally desired by those who play Highlanders. Hell, even those who love the no-brows wouldn't be affected as it would be an option.

I purchased a Fantasia to try Highlander for a while but at the end didnt like the face, had to change race again, I hope that they change that in the future but honestly I don't think so

How are they able to be scholars and summoners? (or whm for that matter)
The butterfly face makeup
The eyeshadow (for males ofc)

Those things dont strike me as inherently nasty or "neanderthaal-esque"

highlander males shaving their eyebrows is an ala mhigan tradition but not all highlanders would shave their eyebrows so we should have the option to have them there or not. We aren't even ala mhigan either, we don't really belong to the cultures presented in game because we are the exception.
