Least favorite ff is probably 7. It's the WoW of FF games to me. So many new players entered the RPG market and the general behavior Of players made it easy to associate negativity toward the game. Like WoW, not a bad game, but when other players make you dislike things you normally wouldn't and you can't separate game from.community anymore.

Very true. The more popular a game becomes the more 'negative' people start to come into it. It also usually makes the company overly-confident in what they're creating which causes their products to start becoming worse (Addidas, nVidia, EA, Disney... the list is endless). In the case of game companies they start throwing out sequals within very short development times, and the lack of development shows on the poor quality of the game (Tomb Raider, Halo, Fallout, Resident Evil, and yes, Final Fantasy also suffered from this.)

Some have wisened up though, EA for instance took a long time releasing Dead Space 2 and it shows in how improved it is over Dead Space 1, Resident Evil 5 was in development for a very long time, and even though it doesn't 'quite' feel like a Resident Evil game, it's still a lot of fun to play.

SE has had it coming for awhile. At one point, their name on a game or a numbered Final Fantasy was synonymous with success and fan adoration. The kid in me that loved XI and earlier SE products didn't care if things were broken or didn't make sense because, "Holy shit! Another person just ran past me!" That feeling is long gone and I have much higher expectations; especially from a company that has a history of making great games. Unfortunately in this case, history doesn't always repeat itself.

Well as a lot of people have said, hopefully the recent mixed reviews for FFXIII and the poor launch of FFXIV is the boot in the rear-end that they needed to start getting their quality back. Though as some say, Versus appears to be shaping up nicely, and FFXIV is improving very well, so things are starting to get better already.

Hm..SE always been behind in terms of graphics? I guess the industry were lying to themselves when they admitted that square always pushed a system's limit with their games and not because they were horribly made -- Especially in the 80s and 90s on the major console line.

The Bouncer for example, wasn't the BEST game ever, but it was one of the best looking games on the PS2...for years, up until FFX/X-2 came out.
