Just started having the same issue about a hour ago. Check all drivers, reset/restarted modem/computer. Called ISP about connection. Nothing is currently wrong. Still having bad connection issues. Unable to stay connected for more then 5 minutes. Takes everything about 10-15 seconds to respond when I do make it in. This is both in a populated area and in an almost empty zone when I was able to teleport out.
Hello there guys,
I had this issue like an hour ago (didn't login into the game for few weeks), and noticed this issue.
however, i have tried something and it seems working fine now. it could be a different issue though.
based on this announcement , i have changed my chrome settings through the registry as suggested here since i'm using chrome as default browser.(note: i only added --ssl-version-min=tls1 not the whole line).
after this change, there was no disconnections whatsoever.
i really hope that this was the actual cause.
i'll update you if this wasn't the solution, if i didn't update you, it means it's working fine and i'm busy having fun... or dead IRL.
Stupid question, just to make sure.
have you done these as admin? as the reason i have done this with chrome in registry is to make sure that EVERY time chrome used, these settings are applied, also it's not in the chrome settings :$.
Having this problem since Yesterday morning. Can't stay logged in for more than 20 seconds before 90002 error comes...Been playing non stop since HW and everything was fine, now that only few days left are on my sub ofc i can't play anymore....
Can we get someone from SE to say something about this other than the "turn your router on and off again" crap I've got from support? No-one seems to care that a portion of the player-base are experiencing this error.
A very common cause for this error is the router.
I know, "i never had any problem with my router", "my router is fine"...
Truth is new routers last about 2 years before doing exactly that. Older ones may last up to 5 years.
But don't take my word for it, borrow another router and test it. If you can't, update your firewall and plug the modem to the computer.
I've seen this issue everywhere online, from people on PC and consoles, all over the world - this is definitely not the problem of individual people's internet, not when the issue is so widespread (one or two maybe, but not thousands). If it were an ISP thing, there would be loads of people offering a working solution, but nothing people have tried has seemed to make it stop. Basically, there are hundreds of threads about this one issue with no answers in sight.
I thought yesterday's maintenance would fix it, but it seems to have made it worse as now I'm getting thrown out every few minutes instead of every 30 mins or longer. Just now was the last straw - got thrown out at the end of a long single player duty for my level 60 class quest and there is no way I'm going back in for fear of 90002 error - also means I can't do the dungeons .
It's looking like I'm gonna have to give up on doing anything significant on this game until it's fixed which sucks coz I was planning on doing an eternal bond in the next few weeks - no way the server is gonna hold for that length of time!
I've been playing the game for over 6 months with no previous error - seems to have been since 3.05 was installed :S my husband is also playing on PS4 and gets d/c'd.
Please fix this squeenix, I love playing this game too much to give it up now! (Lich server btw)
Alright.. since the drop of Patch 3.05, I've gotten like non-stop 90k errors and just substantial amount of difficulty doing anything for more than 10 minutes without it occurring. I've tried multiple routers, called my ISP, have done countless resets on those multiple routers; and nothing is having any effect on the problem.
I think some of your staff should highly look into what you guys did over the Patch 3.05, and maybe the recent hot-fixes, because this problem seems to only be snowballing over itself. Just watching my FC chat alone, I see a good 10-15 people having to reconnect almost every 15 minutes. I've never really had problems like this until literally the most recent patches have come into play. I'd get a little 90k here and there, but this is like a non-stop string of them.
Funny thing, under resolved issues section they have this 90002 error crap down as resolved. Can confirm this is happening very frequently on Zodiark server, and to be honest the lack of dev response is pathetic. Frankly the broke something and don't have a clue what it was. This is frankly ridiculous, and i've heard it won't be properly addressed until 3.1, which has no confirmed date other than Octoberish. Am I the only person, if this is true, that thinks this is total bs?
I've also been getting these issues since Alexander Savage patch, no rhyme or reason to the disconnects, have never had issues since 2.0 launch, internet is perfectly fine otherwise, directly connected to router
Also been having connectivity issues and had been getting 6-20 second lags, then 90k'd, multiple times a night (Hawaii time). At first I checked with my internet provider and will be getting my modem replaced (I'm directly connected via ethernet to my router) so we'll see if it does the trick.
I've been noticing lately that there have been more frequent careless mistakes on SE's part, resulting in weekly (sometimes bi weekly) maintenance, and there being more problems listed after maintenance performed. Makes me wonder if their dev team is not doing so good or they let go a bunch of people and are now understaffed, where minor and major unchecked problems slip through.
Note that I barely had any connectivity problems after 3.0 dropped and the problems started after the 7/27 maintenance.
The internet also hit July's peak for HTTP traffic on 7/29 (possibly due in part to more people opting in to the Win10 upgrade). Unfortunately, they've revamped that page and we can't actually pull up the historical data to see just what those numbers were, but you can track internet traffic elsewhere and see it has been on a steady increase, like the IPV6 traffic here or the Cisco data and projections they published a few months back.
The problem is that North America's infrastructure has not been beefed up well enough to prepare for the traffic boom, and we see issues nearly every time there is a big spike in general (like major sports or other entertainment events, important election cycles (like right now, with debates starting and all the people streaming/commenting on them), major game releases and/or operating system releases--remember, Win10 just hit the wire on the 22nd).
The point is, there has been a LOT going on over the internet...straining a system that was already buckling under the traffic as is. Need to look at just what is going on with your sessions...you may find signs of problems in route to the servers.
Have had this error and disconnect happening to me for about and hour and half now. I can log back in immediately but the lag becomes horrible and i eventually get the 90002 disconnect error. It was happening to me a few weeks ago in Alexander also
Mine was 90k-ing about every five minutes for awhile tonight, had to be over an hour. It finally calmed down around...maybe 3am EST for me? I'm not sure what's going on, but it was highly annoying. At least now I can try to work on Proof of Might...again...
Hope everyone else's connections get back to working soon!
I was just having a terrible menu/logout lag issue that turned into 90002 just a few minutes ago
Same 90002 problem here with 2 characters from Tonberry & Moogle.
On my end, I noticed this happens only when I'm in open world anywhere but no errors in a dungeon / trial / raid (duty).
Whenever I login and immediately register to duty finder, instant duty poped up (ofcourse as a Tank) and played thru without disturbance but once the duty is over and back to open world .......... 90002 strikes
Getting this now too. Tried to teleport to coerthas western highlands and now it's fighting me when I try to log back in. -_-
Same server, same zone. It's been happening to me for about last 20 minutes. Constant chain of 90002 and 10104 errors at the loading screen. A friend from the FC said that the game is still showing my character online, and this has been true even after I logged into my character on different server.
I've had constant 90002 errors since patch 3.05. I had a few after Heavensward too but it's got so bad lately it's making the game unplayable. I'm on Phoenix and VirginMedia SuperHub 2. Really hope there's a fix for this soon!
Getting the same 90002 error on the Moogle server every few minutes or so. I might take a break from the game until it's sorted, as it's becoming unplayable. :(
after todays maintenance still nothing's changed (or is there really a maintenance?)
90002 is still happening on my characters in Tonberry & Moogle
Ever since I transferred my character to a different server I have been getting the 90002 error on just that character..
Being attacked by 90002 on tonberry since yesterday after maintence it is getting old
Yesterday for 1 hour (around 7pm pdt) I kept getting 90002.
I get same problem. It's the servers guys. They can't handle the amount of people on them so they randomly boot some of us.
What amazes me here is that this BS has been going on pretty much since launch of the game. It's either the regular servers during the peak hours or when new content has been added (so more people login), or its the dungeon servers that lag so much you struggle to complete the dungeon due to AoEs and such.
This has been going on long enough SE! Where is that EU based data center we where promised??
I bet that the Japanese data center servers don't have these problems... (If you live in the area.)
We pay for this SE. Fix it, before people get enough and walk out on you.
The servers have lots of capacity---it is more an issue with the networks we go through to get to them. SE restricts things to keep the concurrent connections in check to try to avoid congestive failure along the network side of things (be that their own, their ISP's, or the exchange points along the way---the problem is more about all the interconnections between us and them then issues with the servers themselves).
Get your route analyzed. Time Warner was able to resolve these issues for me a long time ago...and since then any time it tries to rear it's ugly head again, it is Time Warner that fixes it for me again.
fellow 90002-ers,
Just to let you guys know that I've fixed (or maybe altered) my 90002 problem
The problem is my network card.
It's been almost 2 weeks since the 90002 started from the August 4th maintenance and since that date it's been really annoying getting disconnected after every 3-5mins after login. Recently I've installed and tried my FFXIV on my 13" Retina MacBook Pro (via Bootcamp) and it runs fine and smooth under the same internet & wifi and that's what determined that it must have something to do with my PC hardware. My prime suspect is the network card and fortunately I have a spare and I swapped with my current card, started the game and been login in for few hours already without issues.
This may not be certain or accurate, I think the recent FFXIV update/maintenance somehow affects (or maybe hates :p) my network card very much since that specific network card works just fine on other things except FFXIV.
Getting 90k'd constantly today. I can't stay logged in.
Hello,
I'm here cause of the 90002 error
I've play FF14 during 1month a year before ... and i've stop cause each day i got error 90002 during duty (and craft) then i've 3min of error 3102 and can log back
It's happend mostly in instance and craft
So i'm often kicked of my group or loose component
1year leater i come back cause the game was really nice witout the error 90002, and i was a fool to think "i guess after a year this error will be resolved"
So now with new computer, new router, new connexion, i still have this error every day ...
I'm working, doing sport, i can't say i play a lot each day (around 1h (2instance)
But i still have this error daily
If it's a DNS trouble or a port trouble just let me know, i'll check
I don't have any ping trouble, upload/download issues, don't loose any packet
So i'm kinda really annoyed with this (and seems i'm not the only one)
I play with a french friend (come from france) he don't have this trouble (never)
But an other friend (from belgium) have exactly the same trouble as me, he can plays severals hours witout DC, as long as he don't do instance
Now we we are talking about FF14 we don't even say final fantasy, but mostly "hey, how was your error 90002 duty yesterday" we are joking about it, and laugh a lot by saying error 90002 instead of final fantasy 14 but it's not really fun .... if it was a f2p why not, but we pay for this ...
So can we have an answer or a fix for this ?
Instances run on a shorter refresh cycle and can be more sensitive to lag spikes compared to the open world. So there could be a routing issue in play. Being overseas you are a likely dealing with more latency than most in North America if you are on the NA/EU servers in Canada. May be worth trying some free trials on VPN services to see if it clears things up any. If so, then it is very likely an issue occurring along the route your ISP is assigning you.
It should be noted that both Verizon and BT customers have been reporting a lot of quality of service issues recently...and not all tied to this game. So if you are using their lines at all (either as your ISP or you get routed through them along the way), they could be part of your problem.
Today is the first time I've seen this problem and it's constant, even just sitting there while running diagnostics on the rest of my network. I have very minor packet loss from Faerie but nowhere else. Nothing says fun like spending the entire afternoon off trying to figure out why you can't do the one thing you wanted to do.
Going to add my name to list. It jsut started this afternoon. I restarted both my computer and router and I can only stay on for a few moments before I get disconnected again. I'm on the Midgardsormor server.:(
I'm having the same issues. Been playing the game since launch with 0 connection issues. Today I played all morning fine, then this afternoon I try to go back in and getting constant disconnects. I'm not a computer person but I followed directions online to flush my dns. I reset my modem and router. I updated and restarted my computer. I'm not sure what else I should do. But as I said, I've been playing with no issues before today so I really doubt the problem is on my end.
I have the same problem that started today when I tried to log in around 1500 est. Restarting computer and resetting internet connection items did nothing and I keep getting kicked off server. ><
Same issues here, just started playing the game and recently bought it too, and the day that happens this starts frequently occurring. Can't get any levequests done or FATE's been stuck trying to level a new job :(
so if i'm on a JPN server i don't get this problem, but when i'm on NA i keep getting dced -.-
I play on Zalera btw. Tried Bahamut, didnt dc once.
