Female one will just be another glamour sitting in my retainer if it isn't dyeable
I'm all for equal opportunity. IF those shorts were also available for females there's no excuse for not having that striped swim suit for men.... After all;

Totally historically accurate.
Nice pic, Cin! But yeah, *sigh* I can already see them making the advertised male one unisex but keeping the female one exclusive. I don't even want to wear the girl outfit but if they make ours unisex I would rather have the option to use the girl pieces in unexpected ways in glamours than not.
I am waiting for the annoucement that the one outfit will be female and the other one will be uni-sex.
I like the guys outfit this time around... looks better than the speedos and short shorts of the past. I'm not so much a fan of the girl sets--maybe it's just me, though.
We all have our own tastes, Azper, that's what makes the glamour scene so fun! ^_^
Them retro vibes. <3
Hopefully females get to wear both.
You're thinking of what are called prince boots and yes they were a thing back in the day. High heeled men's shoes.

omgomgomg that gear on the Au Ra female is what I've been waiting for foreveeeeeeeeeer. dye it Wine Red /life complete
Removing the ability for a set to be unisex would be giving females less and not giving males more. Exclusivity of gear is not giving the gender it's locked to more options, it's giving the other one less.
Get over you want for exclusive gear, it's ultimately limiting to every player and it's selfish. The only reason SE hasn't made everything unisex is it's apparently hard to go from girl to boy models. Not every boy PC wants the "cool" girl, not every girl PC wants the "cute" gear, why should we limit that?
Your unique cool/cute look comes from the race you pick, the options within that race, and glamour choices, which every race/sex should have options to do. Why do girls only get the "cute" gear? Why do boys only get the "cool" gear? The only case where I could find a reason to keep things gender locked is in the case that a direct copy would result in bare breasts, but all SE has to do is slap on a themed bikini and keep the necklace and tattoo.
How about SE makes them both unisex and call it a day?
I mean yeah, hence why the only real solution is to make all the sets unisex, can't complain with that solution without being selfish. I hate the imbalance between men and women with regards to clothing, but the answer to this problem isn't locking the "men's" clothing to only men.
Eeeh, hopefully girls and boys get to wear both. >.>
kinda boring tbh.
hope they have more than one design to offer.
Well, wouldn't it be cute to see male characters with that absolutely gorgeous skirt? :o
Just ignore Totobi, from what I've seen in the several glamour related threads active right now he's just a troll. Not worth our words.
I think the outfit that the Au Ra is wearing is better than the one that the Hyur is wearing. The outfit that the Au Ra is wearing is cute, simple, and elegant looking.
Sorry but i don't want to see males in the female outfit not a fan of seeing that just my opinion. Keep that stuff gender locked. The summer stuff does look nice though :D
And I might not wanna see lalafell in a lot of outfits, doesn't mean I'm gonna go out of my way to say "No Lalafell in bikinis, please SE make sure that Lala's don't get this set." At the end of the day you either end up being unfair to the men or unfair to everyone unless if you make everything unisex.
You know, a friend of mine wanted to play a Lalafell due to the "cuteness overload". Then he got an armor piece showing a lot of skin... so he started to feel bad and immediately bought a Fantasia to change his character into something more "mature". Well, dunno what to think about that XD
Tbh though, they could do this in either one of two ways without showing favoritism to female characters. Either create a separate version of each style that better fits the physique of the opposite gender and have it take whichever form depending on gender of the character it's equipped to (same way the hempen gear works for race), where the male character one-piece would maybe look a bit more masculine and the female shorts outfit would have a more feminine design. Or they could keep both styles gender locked, as they kind of look like they might be meant as separate gendered styles for the same outfit already. (and I think that's how they've done the outfits for all the past summer events, both swimsuits and yukatas)
It doesn't necessarily have to be straight up giving the males female swimsuits, although I don't see anything wrong with that either if it's what enough of the playerbase is asking for.
To me, I'm just glad we're getting a cute, flirty one piece and I don't mind whatever they choose to do with the male version, but I will admit that opening it up to females while keeping the female one gender locked would be a bit one sided against players who main male characters and have to deal with this same issue yet again.
If you wonder if it's gender locked, i'm pretty sure the previous Moonfire Faire events had genderlocked outfits for both males and females.
I wonder who designed the male versions again... was there a lot of demand on those male-bras again? :/
Something similar to the talismans would have been great, doesn't look so silly and I'm sure many would be happy to have a cool male-only piece again :)
The male top reminds me of something a cast away on an isolated island would wear, very ship-wrecky. Interesting shorts, I just hope the sash doesn't stay that unappealing yellow.
When are we getting these? Like August?
The male top just reminds me with female Au Ra's hempen undershirt. Or maybe SE tried to make male version of it? :p
I hope they are dyable! Pleeeeease SE.
