Haha I like the choice of words there. I definitely hope for a unique experience from the job quests.

not really having more to do..im prolly just missing something.
as so long as its not pointless efforts
basically all the jobs are reeve is you have your r50 conjurer, but you want to become a specialized party healer. when the white mage comes out you will take your con and do a quest and it will unlock white mage which helps you in the party environment by giving you an extra skill. from 30-50 you will get an additional quest every 5 levels which will give your white mage another skill per quest. when you are using your white mage you will have access to those skills, but if you decided to jump over to thm you will no longer have access to them.
i could be wrong, but my basic understanding the jobs are more of a role assistant that helps you fill your classes role in the party by giving you special skills you can use only when using that specialization.
if i am wrong in what i am trying to explain or communicate anyone else is welcome to correct me.
i see what you mean now.
basically its making what we currently have a little more specialised by making things more complicated.
i dont see why we need to unlock white mage and gain more abilities that are specialised to it. might be helpful but for healers, if SE wants to make healing more specialised, they should knock off ALOT of enmity generated from cure 3 or curaga's.
still, will have to see how they unfold. personally im not a big fan of thurm. the mages should definatly be made more specialised but the best way to do this would be having wht blk red, blu mages. which its too late to remove conjurer and thurm and impliment specialised mage classes.
for what i can gather we're just going to get a mash up of them all with specific skills to set types of mage (and other classes/jobs)
i guess time will tell, but i can see many of people raging over this and it not being popular
oh n thanks for the clarification lol
I have to give a [Like] to Square Enix for allowing me to just view all of your recent posts when I click your name.
At first, I thought you were just being an asshole for the sake of taking a thread targeted to a specific subset of the in-game population consisting of numerous people and responding to its merits as if they were evaluated simply by the impact it had on your day, but it turns out you're quite in character.
Points for consistency.
The thread is pointless when the discussion dies, and it seems a few of us still might have a few hopes to express, facts to get straight, grievances to neutralize, speculation to dawdle on, and well-spirited debate to have. (even if we do throw around terms like "whiteknight," "troll," and "barcher" without regards to connotation). So, when it dies it dies, if that's now, it's now.
Anyway, YOU sir, are welcome.
well technically we will be getting wht, blk, red, and blue. just on this first set we will only be getting one per class. in future updates we will be getting more classes that are also specialized off of the main classes. in other words, just for example, right now con may only be able to specialize into white mage, but later on when they add blue mage you can specialize into either white or blue depending on what role you are needed to fill inside of the party.
one of the white mage abilities may be lowering the enmity you get off casting a heal. they may have a skill that lowers the amount of mp each heal costs. that's part of the issue we know they will have specialized skills to help in the party environment, but they haven't announced what they are.
once again because i am not certain on the exact specifics on the jobs 100% sure and am just guessing what i can off what i've read someone correct me if i am wrong.
yeah, time will definatly tell.
but they HAVE to reduce that crazy enmity from cure 3 and curaga I II cause in the darkhold, when you got 3 ARCHERS fighting skellies and you pop off a curaga II then all the skellies come for you, its really not fun. although i guess thats where accomplice comes in handy....but still its insane
I have this weird feeling that 'barcher' will be given some internet meme meaning at some point and become as popular to use as whiteknight, gifthorse and troll...
Nah, you're not wrong. Though, to be specific, these are the things Team Yoshida have stated in interviews, "might be fun," "are things they are looking into," and "might happen in the future." There aren't any concrete plans yet, though the one that interests me most is the cross-class job requirements, like if you have a 30CON you can start WHM, and if you have a 30THM you can start BLM, but if you have both you can also start RDM.
It leaves the door open for a LOT of work specializing yourself without quite as much of the mindless mob grinds. You should have to earn it, but there's a point where it feels numbing.
I've found that, much like FFXI, the cures that seem like they would be for "at level" are actually for emergencies once in a while. When you've got your archers on the skeles, it's much easier to manage a simple, slow rotation of Dia, Stoneskin and Curaga 1 whenever you know you won't make the jump to red - supplementing Cure II when one member dips below the rest.
If it becomes a meme, I hope they use the Old Spice picture I made.... the bottom right at least.
