personal preference is personal. I basically mean anything that covers above the knee. If it covers the long socks/leggings that some skirts, etc come with, then all the better, although some times some of it showing is good too.
I'm at work at the moment so I cannot go through each and every one on that list but.. some of those are not to my liking, cannot be dyed or look bad when dyed, and I don't intend to grind PvP, or revist any reported hell hole that is coil as I have not been in a static since ARR release. The one's that are flared or thicker at the top? No thank you. I didn't think there was anything wrong with asking for more options. ;p
SMN stuff? great. but the look is lost or only 1/2 there when I switch to BLM (obv. not atm as it's still lv50)
As for newer (HW) stuff... I will look again at this list and the market board again later tonight.
And in my rush to get back to work from typing the last post in my last break, I forgot to mention that I am looking forward to the AF2 set.
edit. OK. Had a moment to read through your list while on lunch break. I have the Flame Elite's boots and the Bogatyrs, but I haven't found a look to go with the bogatyrs atm, and the flame elites are also restrictive by design. I was rocking them with the Flame Elite's Coat for a time as I mentioned before (works well with the patricians bottoms or other skirt). Both are not dyeable either.
Ironworks Thighboots of Casting do not exist btw, augmented or no.
I can't find images of the Halonic or Ishgardian, but I will keep an eye out for them. Thanks for suggesting those.
Enough talk about thighboots and more about what you're after, yes? It wasn't my intention to derail the thread. :)
edit 2. found both Halonic Exorcist's Thighboots & Ishgardian Historian's Thighboots stashed on a retainer. Halonic are anything but thighboots imo, just regular boots. And Historians suffer from being too wide at the top. Thank you again for suggesting them, but neither are what I'm looking for.
This game has too many thigh boots, as well as Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre.
I always dress my SCH with this

I like pants that almost reveal your bottom and High Allagan Boots.
just saw the Alex gears for mages. another boring long robe that cover everything. we don't need to care about pants or boots at all because the robe will cover all of them.
holy shit. this trend needs to be stopped.
As long as the skin it shows isn't too much. Example would be just the belly area and nothing too low.
I quit Tera online because of how much it showed. I felt like a huge pervert playing the game and had others at my house pass by me and be like... what is that? With the most wtf look on their faces
I felt like weeaboo playing that game.
Just making an opinion on this. I'm sure others would love it. But seeing how it hasn't happened to ffxiv yet. I assume it never will seeing how big the game is in Japan.
I am kind of bothered by how heavy looking my ninja armor is. Why is the leveling gear from 50-60 for ninja the same as the lancer? I'm a ninja that looks like a warrior or something. Hopefully the level 60 stuff doesn't look so stupid for my class.
You have some awesomely bigoted friends. What are they all 70 years old? Although it's probably just yourself projecting your own intolerance into the minds of others.
A perspective from others has clouded how I viewed a game like Tera, and yes I did mention I was making an opinion on this. I meant no offense to others that want it. Maybe you misunderstood because I'm okay with it. I just think this game shouldn't take it to the next level on how Tera does it. Never seen an mmorpg or any game for that matter show so much. So you know what I mean just search in Google images. Tera online female clothing
The gear is basically just shoulder armor, gloves and boots. With no chest just a bra and an extra thin thong for leggings.
Tera also has that loli fox race. I would be ashamed of myself if anyone sees me play it with some of those loli foxes in bikini on the screen.
I guess I'm one of those 70 year olds, cause I don't like my character looking like she walked in from a long night in downtown. I do occasionally dress in something racy but it's definitely not some raunchy bit of lingerie with 'protective' padding. Part of what keeps me from even touching any of the KMMOs that have been popping up the past 10 years. This 'conservativeness' of the Final Fantasy MMOs is what's kept me playing them for just as long and longer if things keep as they are.
No it doesn't. We're bored of having to use 2 year old glamours.
Because how many times can I glamour things over with Coli Shawl?
Sadly, that's all I do. I'm bored of the same ol' assy glamour's now.
We need new, fun and exciting glamours. None of this level 50 and below gear ones.
The ready made vanity costs your first born child so...Everyone glamours the same thing, so
no one really looks different. :/ I want gear that actually looks fresh and new.
I really dislike a lot of design's they got going.
They really do need to take a looksee at other MMO's to get some idea's.
Alexander's gear looks awful.

Boom.
A skin tight robe with a tabard.
Go make it sqaure.
I'm not saying it needs to look like a tramp, but why is there so much heavy armor?
Does this gear make any sense for a ninja? I should be wearing light nimble outfits.

How come this arctic theocracy isn't giving me the gear to create the Sexxxiest Catboiz?
I'm a ninja myself and I find it awesome. Gives a batman feel and that's only because of that thick armor and the spikes on the gloves.
Opinions vary and I'm still very new to this game but glamour is like transmog in WoW right? There are plenty of light skin tight ninja outfits out there. It's good that SE is making more options for gear. Some people might prefer that ninja style gear over others. But good thing that glamour is around at least :)
Yea I know it exists, but I haven't ever done it. I don't know how much time it would take to accomplish or if I can just do it as much as I want for super cheap. I know I have some glamour prism things. Is that all it takes or do I need to level up a crafting job?
RULES OF NATUR--I kid.
Gonna work on the gloves, but this is what I am planning once I get my law gear.
Anyway, I guess I'm in the middle of these two camps of teens and 70 year olds. I avoid traditional ninja garbs and taffeta stuff like the plague. It all comes down to what you feel works. Me? I like to have something for every angle. :)
I'm still very new myself so I'm not aware of how it works yet. I found the shop vendor that sells the materials to do it but it said I was missing a catalyst.
As far as leveling it. From what I noticed the glamour levels with you. Meaning you can transmog into any piece so long as it's for your class/job and you're the same level or higher of the item you want to use.
The grade 1-5 materials are very cheap like 100-200 a pop. I'm not sure about that catalyst thing it was asking for though.
My glamour set before putting on HW gear was the closest thing to Lady Ice hearts outfit, and I was looking quite awesome with her in the cuts scenes for the MS quests :3 (if its Ice heart you mean and not specifically Shiva)
I used the Direwolf Robe of Casting(only because I preferred the purple sash to the blue one of the Cashmere Robe of Casting one)
I dyed it a dark blue.
I then just added other pieces :
For the gloves, you can use the acolyte gloves to match Iceheart, but I preferred ringbands.
I used thigh high boots from Maelstrom GC, the all black ones
And I used the summoner skirt.
Tada! It looks really good, and I am pretty sure I will re-glamour my final gear to that look again, since like everyone is saying here, the gear for us sucks and just covers too much and isn't original enough...
Clear prisms come in 5 levels, this is for the ilvl range of gear.
1: 1-40
2: 41-80
3: 81-120
4: 121-160
5: 161+
If you have the pieces you are looking for, note the ilvl and the class needed to repair it (the item look you are changing to). And that's the glam prism you'll want crafted.
Ex.: changing that titanium monstrosity to a felt bliaud requires a lvl 2 clothcraft prism.
I do like the tasteful cleavage of many of the new robes, though. It's boobs you can show at church! But yeah, Spira-esque clothes would be a fun addition.
Neither have I said that that's what the game needs. But options to choose not to be covered up from head to toe - shirts, maybe part open ones; actual shorts (even skirts) that don't have additional leg-sleeves beneath on guys only, shoes/boots to go with them that doesn't cover up even part of the shorts themselves... yeah, that would be nice. Because ->
^ See, that's actually awesome. Allows a little "sneak peek", from all angles indeed, it's not heavy, it doesn't hide the whole body and even several pieces of the gear as well... It's great. For girls. For NINs. Not for guys and for mages.
Actually, there's even a disparity between healers and casters, as it has been mentioned here... Healers have those low-hanging pants from 2nd Coil (I think?), and now even those actual short shorts - neither of those has any equivalent design for casters though. Or at least none that I'm aware of, perhaps because the robes long skirts and thighboots cover them up. In fact the long skirts would be great... If only they weren't just reskins of the plain long skirt that's also been in the game for...how long now? A year maybe? And if only even those weren't hidden under their respective robe chest pieces.
So yes. Still saying some variety would do the general mage wardrobe good.
You only need a crafting class to craft the glamour prism yourself. But every class can use the prism once unlocked.
Quest to unlock it: A Self-improving Man
Requirement to unlock it: have a lv 50 class and finished the 2.0 MSQ (defeating Ultima Weapon)
What is this i don't even?..........
I would like some more options. Right now the easily obtainable caster gear is either fully revealing or full robes. It would be nice to see more 2 part outfits where the top doesn't cover the bottom and boots. My wishlist: kilts for guys, skirts with a slit or uneven hemline, loose trousers, jackets, sleeveless tops, bare-belly tops, tube tops, gold and silver decorated fancy tops etc.
Yeah, this is why I liked most of the Woad gear.
If only glamours existed.
Oh wait. >_>
I like using the archeoskin crafting top, cashmere healing skirt, and Ironworks thighboots, all dyed black, for the biker look. I use an eye patch on most of my classes, but the only healing one is the Pilgrims one, which is white any undyeable... was hoping the new crafted set that matches the pilgrim set would have a dyeable eye patch, but instead they went with that foolish jester hat.
I have to agree. Even glamour wise, healers and casters get the short end of the stick because we're limited to cloth and leather. DoW can wear and glamour everything in the game. Would it really be so bad to allow DoM the same thing? Earlier in the thread someone mentioned a tank that looked like Harry Potter wizard robes. If a tank can do that why can't a healer put on mail armor?
If only 98% of the relevant pieces to glamour weren't at least 1+ year old, many even older. If only the glamour system didn't have the stupid job/lvl restrictions.
Oh wait. >_>
(Kindly read OP before posting. Specifically here too, the thing is quoted/mentioned in the 5th post above yours. But, y'know, nvm.)
Dunno if anyone's said it yet, but Moonfire Faire IS gonna happen soon. Who knows what we'll get this year? New bikinis? New Yukatas?(Can we get some craftable, dyeable ones already?) Or maybe something entirely different?
Kan-E, Y'shtola: Bikini mode. OR hot spring outdoor furnishings. Do this and I love you forever, SE.
I have to admit I was more than a bit disappointed to see that a lot of the new DRG armor was so... tin-can-ish. I'm sure it looks a lot better on male characters, but on my girl, it really just overwhelms her. I'd like options for things that are less clunky-- the Ironworks gear, HA gear and Demon Mail were all perfect examples of things that looked like armor but weren't a tin can.
What I'd also like? More plain male briefs/ swimwear that DON'T have those weird things on the thigh:

Actually most of that can be worn by casters/healers/guys. The top has a dyable caster/healer version now, and the boots are gatherers so anyone can glamour.
However, I do agree (as a healer) that potential glamours are pretty lacking. We miss out on so much because of job restrictions. Some robes are lovely and it's not like I want to do away with them... I'm just a little tired of the because often robes cover EVERYTHING - necklaces, gloves, legs, boots.
Some more normal tops/skirts/trousers would be lovely ;-;
why does a HE need to show some skin?
and why are you referring to you character as if it was some other person and not actually you playing it?
I mean, if you really want a game that has lots of skimpy clothing.. you could try TERA.. Lol. But besides that, there's still a fair range of items you can glamour.
It doesn't really make sense to have armour made of belts since it's cold.

Why is this another thread?
Its like the gender locked thread except worded differently and same posters asking for same stuff.
I don't understand why guys wanna dress like this.
I do understand why girls would want to be armored up like a guy not to look so under dressed.
but guys? Please explain what it offers you inside this game to dress like a girl or what OP said showing some skin though I know this is about not being able to wear bra and pantys and dresses, since they have swim suits and other means of showing skin.
Cause everytime I see a half naked dude running around he is either pelvic thrusting someone or acting nasty towards others and being told to stop.
