Did you open the thread I linked? It's about the level 34 main storyline quest, which requires a trip to Mor Dhona. That's neither high level nor end game.

And if you admit that you were wrong, and it takes longer than 10 minutes to get to Mor Dhona, then how does this post make sense?

Get rid of anima, and you won't be able to make it to Mor Dhona in time. And as has been said before, you can't "plan" for a random event.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion on anima. But you keep getting the facts wrong.

The reason SE didn't make the entire world instanced is because players like meeting, partying with, socializing with, and being around other players. It's an MMO.

I get it. You don't like anima. But like darkstarpoet said, how does it hurt you if other people teleport? You can chocobo/airship/ferry all you want. That's not a reason to keep me from teleporting.

If I put a button in front of you telling you that once this button is pressed you will instantaneously obtain level 50 along with all the best equipment. Because it is there you are going to want to press it. Because it's just that easy. Why would I ever want to progress. Who cares about progression, experience, dedication, hard work, adventure, lore, satisfaction ect. (the basic foundation that makes an mmo an mmo). Why would I ever want to waste my time with such a massive time sink; progression. I thought this game was for casual players... progression is for hard core elitists, I rather have a button.

Why would I want to ride a chocobo and or an airship when I have regenerative anima.... I thought this game was for casual players... chocobos and airships are for hard core elitists.

I'm not saying I will not use anima as it is right in front of me. It takes a lot away from the game in many aspects that have been stated before.

in other words you want it removed because it's the only way to keep you from being lazy. i hardly ever use it now and it's in game for me to use. the difference is i make the choice to run. me running doesn't hurt your game and me porting(on the few occasions i do) doesn't hurt your game either.

That may be true for you -- I honestly can't say -- but it's not true for me.

I play for fun. I enjoy the progression, the adventure, and the achievement. So I wouldn't press the button. If you enjoy those things, too, then why would you press the button? Because being rank 50 in a game is more important than having fun playing the game? I don't think that's true.

If you're asking SE to save you from yourself, I think you're expecting too much from a gaming company.

Moreover, I think for the vast majority of people playing this game, teleporting doesn't detract from a sense of progression, adventure, and achievement. You still have to kill the exact same number of mobs to get to level 50. It just takes less time to get to the mobs to kill. It's not like people started having less fun in FFXI after they implemented teleporting. And it's not less fun or rewarding now.

I'd really like someone to explain to me how anima hurts their own personal experience in the game in a way that doesn't involve a lack of self-control. That's also all I want explained, I don't want analogies, I don't want hypothetical situations taken to their most ridiculous extremes, just tell me how anima hurts your experience.

I'm not admitting that I was wrong about Mor Dhona. If you actually took the time to read my previous posts in this thread, I had mentioned it well before you posted

Also, if Dodore is random, then why are you worried about him not being there at all? It's random, right? Whether you teleport or walk, it's the same thing

no it's not the same thing. when groups wanted to fight the dodore either one person would go farm toads and hogs or fish until the weather changed. they would tell the rest of the group and then they would port together to meet up with that last person. i sat there for close to 3 hours one night crafting and just waiting on the weather change we needed.

if you don't like porting and anima just simply don't use it, but leave the people alone that have use for it.

I said the same thing here, but for some reason Jocko doesn't get it.

Question for Jocko: have you camped/killed Dodore yet before or after 1.18? If yes, how did you know it popped? Just curious, although I am pretty sure I know the answer to both my questions.
