Goblin Jig or Purse Web Spider, I forgot which one I used. It was shortly after 3 am, since I didn't want to waste my food buff after collecting Warmwater Bichir. It's not the most perfect information but just narrowing it down helps a lot :).

Patience buff may be required going into the catch, I caught 5 nq, some with patience up. For bait either Stonefly or Spiders work. You want to catch a HQ bullfrog. I found it was rare to straight catch this but they can be mooched from Crickets.

The spot also has dragonskin map so that is pretty useful.

Good luck as there are many other fish that mooch there.

Sweetfish and Illuminati Perch added to my post. Hinterlands Perch is also caught with Goblin Jig, has a big bite sound/animation but it's only level 60.

No special conditions for the Illuminati Perch?

Edit: Using Patience 2 and Powerful Hookset caught me 3 in a row! I guess they are just "rare", cause without that skill I barely ever get them.

I don't think this one has been reported yet: Wilholm River, mooch off a Blueclaw landed a Dravinian Bass (lv 56, collectable) - 4am, Dust Storm. I think this might have been getting away before, needing the higher level Gathering.

Edit: New find: Eli Tohm, Churning Mists 37, 30 (Freshwater). Contains Lamp Marimo (lv 31) Cloudfish, Kissing Fish (lv 54) and ???. None of the fish are moochable.

Unlocked my first fishing folklore book. All it says is that a page on it was added to the fish guide. However nothing at all new was added. No more locations, no new fish or anything. Not sure if it's bugged or what, but they currently appear to do nothing.

Also as stated earlier in the thread Noontide oscar 6a-12p str8 catch clear weather those are the only 4 fish in that hole. Fishing was 57 at the time

I did around 150 pulls and got the message "The Fish gets away" around 90% of the time. It sucked. I managed to pull only 4 of them.
I have tried to catch them in clear and cloudy weather with no luck.

What bait do you use an what gathering skill do you need for Sweetfish. Oh an where do you fish them plz :)

Has anyone been lucky with fishing one of those lvl60 maps ? Wyvern/Dragonskin ? tried several spots and searched on ff14angler/reddit/xivdb. Absolutely no infos and people ingame make a big secret about it =w= ... its frustrating.

Wyvernskin can be caught at the pool at he far north of Dravanian Forelands name slips my mind right now, anywhere else in that zone you will catch archaoeskin maps, no idea where dragonskin are right now

Goblin Jig, Dravanian Hinterlands, Thaliak River (x23,y18 or so, just south from the bridge).

You can get Dragonskin map at the same place where you fish for your lv60 quest. The Sea of Clouds (31,38).

Was someone here looking for a Letter Puffer? Can't find the post. Churning Mists, Landlord Colony (30, 25), mooch off a Sky Farie, 5:30 pm, fair skies. Had a few mooches get away before that.

So far have also found Gloaming Coral (snagging, crafting material), Cloud Rider (GC turn-in and probably also some levequest somewhere) and Blue Medusa (both of them straight catches that can also be mooched). Red Balloons for everything. One fish still unknown.

I'm not sure if anyone else has made this discovery, but on the Google Play store and the Amazon app store there's this app called Fishing Across Eorzea Pro that is really great for fishing. It has all the new fish (as far as I can tell) as well as what bait to use, where you can catch them, weather, gathering etc. There is a lower version of the app called just Fishing Across Eorzea which has all the basic info, but I really love the Pro version best. It's being updated pretty frequently too with all the new Heavensward info which is great. It's been saving me a lot of time trawling the internet for fishing info since the app people have been doing all the research for me instead :D I notice the original version is on the Apple store too (I've asked the developer if he can put the Pro version on the Apple store so I can have it on all my devices!). Definately a time-saver if you have a phone or tablet or whatever that can run apps.

Goldmithing craft and leve reward, so make sure you check your leves before turning any leve in since they shuffle, I got a leve that rewards 6 Goblin jiqs from the new 10 allownace fishing leve. problem is, I need 6 Bullwhips and got no luck getting any so far.

There's a condition that's missing here. So far nothing bites between 4am and 10am with clear skies.

Edit: Caiman, 6pm, fair weather, same blueclaw mooch, big fish tug (lv 58), collectable. Still no Pipira. Edit 2: Gone by 9pm.

Edit 2: ff14 angler says it's cloudy or dust storm weather, and skywatcher says it's gonna be clear skies for the next couple RL hours. Time to move on.

My boyfriend and I were able to get Pipira Pira's around 6 pm.

Also, information on Kissing Fish it only shows up at 9 am, in churnings mists (36,30) called Eli Tohm. I stop fishing at 12 pm so I'm not sure when the window is up but it's definitely still there at 12.

If anyone has information on GOBBIE MASK, please share.


Checked angler, only one person has posted that it's available in Sohm Al Summit, in fair weather with red balloon bait but I've been fishing there all day and have yet to catch one.

Caught some gobbie mask going for a different fish; its mooched from rudderfish which can be mooched from sky faerie or straight caught. I caught them after midnight but I don't think there is a time requirement. Weather was clear.

It was foggy when we fished. I remember because we were fishing there for our fishing quest and noticing the environment of the new area. I hope this helps.

Has any confirmed a window for catkiller? Herd speculation 11a-4p have only managed to reel one nq in and was in that window

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue and trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Level 57 fsh, trying to discover some of the hellfishing spots. I'm in what I believe are the right spots according to garland tools database but getting message "You can sense something swimming below, but are uncertain how to go about catching it" and no cast option anywhere I've tried standing. As I write this I'm at 10, 7 right next to dragon npc that sends you to churning mists. Thanks

I'm guessing you don't have the hellfishing trait. I think it comes from one of the fishing quests. Starts at the fisherman's guild in Limsa and continues in the forgotten knight in the foundation.

Unless you are trying at halo which I think requires Gulleye V (level 60).

Thanks, that would be it. Didnt even consider going back to LL to check for quests.

Hundred fin - lv 56 levequest - Weston Waters, Churning Mists. After midnight under clear skies, a goblin jig appears to catch them almost exclusively until the Weston Bowfin window opens at 8am. If other baits work, I haven't figured them out yet.

Dravinian Hinterlands: Quickspell Delta (pretty much all the shallow marsh out of the second Idylshire entrance)

Blueclaw shrimp, Hedgemole Crickets and Bullfrogs mooch into Yalm Lobster (lv 58 levequest), Orn Butterfly (have seen it as a GC turn-in) and Tigerfish (use unknown), in no particular order. Did not discern any time or weather restrictions, had it change from sun to rain while I was there, daylight the whole time.
