I think it was because in ARR, WAR was notably more involved of a tank than PLD, and was more wanted for doing difficult things like speed running. PLD was a roll your face on the keyboard and be a tank class, warrior took more finese.

DRK may end up being that now once they end up getting buffed into something useful, so warriors feel a little threatened. Its been interesting to see all sorts of tank boasting on the forums when you can kinda tell the boasting is based off of judging the other tanking classes based on how they worked in ARR, rather than in HW.

In tank stance, the thing that might threaten WAR's top status is DRK. They get a good always-up buff and enjoy high potency on just about everything they have. PLD will be better than it was! But they are really hit hard by the Sword Oath damage penalty since FoF is only up 1/3rd or the time.

Offtank I think things will remain pretty close. War is low on average potency to the other two, even with Fell Cleave now that PLD has its other combo finishers, but they get a 25%+ constant total damage buff (and they certainly have the two-GCD burst of champions). DRK gets a 15% constant buff has 4 skills 400+pot in Scourge, Salted Earth, Carve And Spit and the semi-spamable DA-Souleater.

Hard to say with DRK, it's not as easy to predict against the WAR/PLD changes because of the current uncertainty in Dark Arts usage.

And your reasoning for Dark Knight, cause after leveling it to 55 I've ditched it. Defensives a poor, class is clunky, powers end up replacing one another, no meaningful utility in raids, damage isnt all that great on single target (yep you can dark arts a few rotations for 400 potency soul eaters, then drop back down to boost up your mana, blood price is great on aoe packs but not that amazing vs single targets with slow attack speeds (i.e, bosses)).
