24 hour maintenance before early access

I just want to be about to download the game during that maintenance so I can just jump in and go all out.

With E3, part-time work and other stuff, I will be so busy, I wont be thinking about Heavensward. I hope we can download during the maintenance.

Only 24 hours? Wow, I actually expected it to be more! Well that means more ESO for me.

Only 24 hours? That is going to make Tuesday and Wednesday interesting. Anyone else going to be trying to figure out how to cap without completing any part of the challenge log?

Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I can live with that.

It'll give me a chance to clear my palette, as it were.

Hopefully, there won't be too much need for maintenance afterwards.

It's not exactly news, actually, they've said or posted about this a while ago already... And the updates themselves are usually pushed live quite a bit before the servers go back up. So yeah, I sure will be trying to log in during the maintenance window. ^^

It'll be the last day I get to play with my wife for a long time, so before maintenance, gonna enjoy our time together like always.

While it does say 24 hours. There are high chances that it may need to be expanded too don't forget. Besides it's E3, so I'll be busy watching that and watching a movie or two.

only way to cap would be to do primals possibly extreme primals doubt they count as dungeons so u should be able to do those without challenge log capping

24 hours to perfect an Au Ra save file or two.

Yep, E3 is my plan too. That and reading the 50-page patch notes for this patch they they're likely going to put up.

I live semi-rurally in Northern Germany, too far from a DSLAM. I pay 30 Euro a month for a 446/96 connection. Those are Kbit/s, not Mbit/s, by the way.

I lived in a small (1000 people) village in North-East Czech Republic, and there is a 30/3 Mbit connection via VDSL (so phone line) there for <25€. O.o

I REALLY hope they publish the full (Preliminary) release notes on Thursday so we can spend the evening when the game is down studying those and making plans for what to do when we can finally log in...

I thought it was days of maintenance. Well nice, on PS4 the EA client is 1.7gb but I don't know what are they going to do for the DX11 client.. Well I'll be reading patch notes, playing other games. There are really some bad connections around here isn't it? And I thought my was bad..

Also surprised at the lack of rage in here. It's quite nice, given that ANY sort of downtime with WoW resulted in dozens of duplicate threads across General, CS and Tech Support forums at any given time. I'm happy having time IRL even when it's taking up most of my time while spending about 2 hours in Eorzea on a daily basis hahha. Down for 24 hours? No biggie.. just means i have more time to sleep. Square Enix ain't taking down the servers for good anyway... i mean com'on look at FF11 lol

Wait the update is on the 18th? I thought we were getting a week early access to the game for those who pre-order? Well 3 days is enough to get one class to level 60 and explore a good portion of the Heavensward before it finally becomes open to everyone else.

EA is 19th-23rd.
Hopefully there's no maint on 23rd, or it's just gonna lead to massive server crashes, to start of the launch...

a whole 24 hour maintenace sounds excessive, but at least we get to download the stuff on the 18th and the download time won't take a chunk out of early access. Hmm, at least I'll have time to watch some Hannibal.

Other MMOs neither do a 24h maintenance to patch their Addon stuff, nor do they require a pretty big DL ~12 hours before you actually need the Data. (==preload)

You get to download signficantly earlier, while downtime is less. In addition people can actually log in earlier. Going from Maintenance to Early Access is like asking your customers to DDOS your login servers. You don't even have to both about game servers actually crashing, because logins might crash earlier.
