How are you guys preparing for the expansion?

Crafting... so much crafting...
Also in the process of finding a heal or tank buddy so we can sell insta ques. Reasonable price, of course.

I'm mostly just pushing to get my Dragoon to 50 so I can finish the Job quests for it. Since being a Dragoon is such a big deal in Ishgard, I'm curious to see the story behind it, and to see how people will react dialog wise to me being a Dragoon. Plus, I keep getting drops for it from WoD instead of my main, so I need to level it anyhow....

I've been preparing for Heavensward for a while now, and now that I'm nearly done I'm actually running out of things to occupy myself with. XD

-> Obtain all Kirin Mount (basically, all the Primal Ponies)

(My Grand Company seals are currently sitting below 50,000 as I do still buy Ventures for my Retainers currently.)

Basically, I have done everything but cap Wolf Marks and obtain all the primal ponies. I'm two ponies short (Shiva Pony and Ifrit Pony) and 5,049 Wolf Marks short. Queuing for PvP is more of a hassle than anything, so I think I might cut my losses and leave it as it currently stands. But once I obtain the last two Ponies, I'll have officially completed my personal checklist before Heavensward. XD I'm super prepared!

[EDIT] I've had all the battle classes at level 50 for a long time, so I didn't really include anything about them. And my interests in crafting/gathering are really... minor (HUEHUE TEH PUN), so I didn't include them either.

[EDIT June 12th] I obtained my Kirin mount last night. :) Aside from PvP (which I don't think I'll do), I have completed my personal Heavensward checklist! I am ready! Bring. It. On. :D

I accomplished my main goal last night (clear T13) so now it's mostly just going to be farming for gear and the last two ponies I need. Oh yeah, and I want to get ARC/BRD up to 50 if I can too.

I'm glad I was able to do that before HW because now I feel like I really can relax and just enjoy myself.

Clearing Final Coil. Just got there 2 days ago, and I plan on downing this thing before early access, since it's the last content I need to do in the game.

Meh~ just chillaxin. Hosting events (Chocobo tournament, spiritbondananza, minion giveaways) and going to have my character married right before expansion to keep me and my FC members entertained til launch. :)

I got through T9, that was my big goal before launch. That and catching my 30 Silver sovereign HQ's for me hat and rod.

O and ofc prepping my furture vanity for Ast.
Stocked up on ex primal parts and battlecraft demi 3.
Gonna craft me them sexy EX weps.
Gonna look like ur holding a ball of fire i bet.

Finished off all of my battle classes, fully geared a Tank/Heal/DPS role. Now I'm levelling WVR/LTW/ARM to 50 as fast as I can, I don't think I'll have time for the other crafts before then though.

1) Telling people who are complaining about having to do MSQ to stop wasting time and do the MSQ so they can do the Heavensward MSQ like they want to.
2) Attemptign to complete FCoB (only t13 to go).

They are replacing both currencies, uncapped Law, capped esoterics.

Finish getting the rest of my original classes (PLD/WAR) to 50 as well as gear them up to at least i120.

People that don't have the expansion won't have access to Law/Esoterics, so Poetics cap will likely remain.

getting my last 16000 GC seals for my lucis fishing rod. leveling desyth

Well, not much really, i've pretty much done everything in the game. Except best tribes...i hate those daily quests.
Here are some precautions i've taken to ensure i get a nice smooth and stress free experience :)

1 - Due to DRK being my favorite FF job of all time i know i will be leveling it. So i've crafted all the armor i will need for it, made EXP food and saved some poe for the DRK weapon.
2 - I made sure i did not spend any gil as i will be doing the relic for DRK as soon as possible
3 - I've gone out of my way to gather a TON of shards, crystals, clusters and general crafting items i may need incase i hit a bump.
4 - I have capped myself out on wolf marks, GC seals, leves and poetics. People say they're useless but i beg to differ(only recommend if you like vanity :P)
5 - Stacked up on ventures so i can level my retainers while i am out leveling myself.
6 - currently finishing the monster challenge log on my main job so i can have a good leveling alternative while i do fates or am in a dungeon queue.
7 - I have taken the liberty to set up a get hype mix :D
8 - fixed up my sleeping pattern and taken a few weeks off work(i wouldn't recommend this AT ALL)
9 - Made my Au Ra preset in the benchmark which BTW CAN be used for our main profile.
10 - Stockpile beer and noodles!.(credits to Stanelis for the idea)
11 - i have tried to clean my inventory and my retainers as MUCH as i possibly could...and this one was a doozy since i am a MAJOR hoarder D:
12 - ????
13 - profit!

Hopefully this helps you and anyone else trying to transition into HW have a general idea of what to expect based on what you'll be doing.

The new relic won't come until 3.1, and the new jobs don't get 2.0 relics. You still have a few months.

My pre-Heavensward goals:

1. DRG to 50 so I don't miss any special dialogue. (currently 47)
2. Boyfriend's DRG to 50 for the same reason. (currently 42)
3. Clear out quests sitting in my journal (have a few postmoogle, the last culinarian quest, and ninja relic)
4. Cap GC seals (currently at 30k)
5. Get the poetics MNK body for glamour because it's perf
6. Get 1.5 mil gil (currently at 1.1m)
7. Get as many ventures hoarded as possible without endangering GC seals goal.
8. Not pre-Heavensward, but: Get kobolds maxed and bomb chair bought before it can fly (was that 3.05 or 3.1?)
9. This is a stretch, but SCH zeta. (Currently 1.1k light into nexus.)

Which is why i've saved a looooot of gil :3.

My Pre-Heavensward goals:

1. 50 mil gil - 70 mil (Reached the stretch goal and currently at 73mil!) Started saving at 20 mil with about 100 days until release and a goal of making 333k a day. Ended up ranging from 600k - 2mil on any given day.
2. Brd to 50 (Felt silly buying aiming gear for machinist with no current use. Completed last week). Will be at full aiming (acc leftover from Nin) by next week, with a tokens, a tomestone and sands for the weapon and i130 gear.
3. ADS and PVP rank 45 (Rank 44.5 and 11 wins until ADS).
4: Full Artisan/Foragers/Lucis (4 more lucis to go (should get them this week), 2 pieces of foragers (have the mats, too lazy to craft), 1 offhand (2 days worth of oaknots needed).)
5: Pedigree 9 choco (Nope, not happening.)
6: FC House (Maybe?? I'm considering sacrificing my personal house and turning it into the FC house since none are open on my server)
7: Decide on a male Au Ra look. (Nope. Even more confused that ever. Thought I was going to go Xaela, but the Raen are really growing on me)

My tip would be to wait for the preliminary patch notes to come up and think about what you want to focus on first. What job do you want to do, craft, gather, main story, airship, etc etc and just get a notepad to jot down the location to start each one so that when you enter you have an idea of where you want to go first.

Personally speaking I"m torn between NIN, SCH and WAR, I may start NIN solo and lv SCH when others are on but with that in mind I would check to see where those job quest start so that if they do start at 50 but might be 52 I"ll be ready for when I hit 52.

Then of course airships since I"m interested in that I"ll see how long it takes to get to that point and see if there is any FC xp needed to unlock it and go from there.

But ya I would say if you don't want to overwhelm yourself just think about the things you REALLY want to do first and ignore everything else. If you want to do the main story then just focus on that, if you want to explore then do that. But just focus on what you want to enjoy first and the rest of the content will come to you and you progress.

I have 99 leves saved, capped poetry and soldiery, Got carbontwine x3 for 3 130 weapons for 3 new jobs, finished all quests in the game except t13 (which I hope to do before HW)

I already have every class at level 50. I have my zodiac weapon. I had the story completed less than a week after it was added. I have my pre-order code.

I couldn't be more prepared for the update. At the moment, I'm just killing time.

but if you want to go to expansion zones, then finish 2.55 story.

i'm just finishing my DRG zeta, atm.
leveling up chocobo, if we'll be able to solo dungeons, with them.
encrypted tomes and carbontwines, for ilv130 weps for new jobs.
save up resting status, so you get XP bonus.

but basically just ask yourself what you like doing in the game, and what you wanna do in HW. set goals, and priorities. ask yourself if there's anything you can do about it right now, and do that.

I have just finished MSQ on Sunday.
Now I am trying to get some better equip and get my WHM (as my secondary class) to lvl 50, so that I have 2 there.

My main job is finally BiS after weeks of wiping in T13, so at the moment I'm abusing the new poetics cap and leveling bard to 34 so I can crossclass Quelling Strikes to my shiny machinist. Also still half-heartedly trying to get the Demon Armor of Fending, but lolrng.

What I should be doing is do T10 and T11 as SCH for crit gear, but PF on Cerberus is getting emptier by the day ahead of launch.

I only just finished the MSO with my ninja so now im going to try and gear her up a bit ready for heavensward. ive only done crystal tower so i've still got syrcus tower, WoD and all the bahamut coils to do that i want to do before leaping into HW. doubt i'll have any time to do so though

I'm finishing the remaining basic relic quests (just for fun) and extreme primals. And selling crafting items in MB to earn as many gil as possible.

I'm all set to go, just waiting for the expansion (PS4 CE) to become available on PSN for EU :P

I have all my crafting jobs equipped with lucis and all master books. Reading that they are changing crafting so that you can only "specialize" in a number of crafts *(like desynth) has me freaked out regarding my self sufficiency. So, I've been leveling an alt character up through to HW access (and will progress crafting on it until launch). While it's a grind, it was kinda nice to ding 50 and walk into a complete HQ, melded Kirimu / Plat armor set courtesy of my main.

I would like my WoD WHM/SCH hat, but WoD doesn't want to co-operate at all. *cries*

I started eating more protien. The body can stay awake a lot longer depending on your protien intake and I plan on pulling a couple all nighters.

Also, organizing my retainers and inventory to accommodate all the new stuff I'll be getting.

Now just waiting... collecting Poetics to gear up my other jobs.

And watching ppl getting killed off on Terra Formars.

I moved, so waiting for the internet guy to come by and hook up my service, and I haven't heard from them yet and starting to get a little antsy. :(
