Actually, the most messed up thing is that you guys in Europe pay MORE for the game and the subscription than the people in Japan and US...

Jesus I was not expecting this. They really don't have a clue when it comes to keeping the European fan base happy. I'm not exactly bothered about playing it on day one of EA but it's more the point of how we are treated. Not cool square, not cool.
Ok this shit just killed all the hype i've had for the expansion for weeks now. Knowing how stable PSN is and how long the downloads from PSN Store are even for older games, I dont expect to be able to even play in the EA. This is just ridiculous.
japan is like the oldest child and america is the youngest child both get special attention from parents europe is the middle child gets forgotten most of the time :P
should of been made available to every1 at the same time not preferential treatment for certain regions lol
as i said earlier really hope for SE and sonys sake psn doesnt get hacked or crash durin the 19th n 23rd preventing majority of people gettin thier preorders.. otherwise theres gonna be a massive sh*tstorm n loss of subs as a result
Haha precisely my point. Its like we are second rate customers, left to be forgotten about. But there will be a piss poor excuse as to why, there always is.
Oh I already know this. £129 for the CE . Square clearly can't math when it comes to conversion rates.
I'm actually looking forward to see how/if they plan to explain this, cos today is gonna be full of disgruntled psn users
There will be no answer. No comment. Us EU people should just be happy we are allowed to even pay for this game ... didn't know? That a Japanese company of all, would treat their customers like that is beyond me...
Edit: @Ignnis: no, what we learned today yet again, is that SE does not care enough about their EU customers to get them decent support. EU Money = dirty, worthless money it seems
I gave up the will to care and give SE an additional £10-20 for the CE and went and preordered the normal edition elsewhere. What have we learned today? Learning things till the last minute is a bad idea?
Why are so many comments on here being deleted? This is the general discussion forum... I could understand if it was the feedback forum or something, to keep it concise... But there are now many comments missing from this thread that added to the discussion.
This is getting more and more appalling by the hour. Plus, I have yet to see this date officially announced anywhere other than this thread, so other than it being shared places like reddit, how is word going to get out to anyone else?
most of them had bad language, and to be honest its completely justified, people are upset and rightly so, because by all rights all pre orders should have gone up at the same time or not at all.
The moment I saw the word Happy, I knew every would be anything but that. I honestly don't know what to feel about this as not like it's shocking because since when have they cared about the general EU region support??
19th June is going to bring in it's own batch of bugs as any other releases without having the additional problem of allowing everyone to order the game on a system which is highly known for it's 'reliability'.
Personally, my upset is around not the fact it's on the 19th June but the fact that SE has lead us to believe we could pre-order the game with optimal time and that nearly everytime the question has been asked that has been a complete lack of explanation as to why. We already know SE won't explain themselves and angered everyone even further.
I am happy to announce that this news is truly not surprising. -.-
To be honest after reading the EU (anti) Community Team's response I understand why they do not communicate with us. Whoever approved that message, if that is even part of the posting process/if it isn't maybe it should become part of the process, should go back to Customer Relationship Management class. I know the Community Team has no control over devs but really if you have to give bad news that you know, if you didn't know it was not going to go down well no one can help you with common sense, then don't say you are happy about it. Use empathy explain the situation or at least state that you are doing your best to try and get the pre-order up before Early Access. Use Soft Skills to get the community's support instead of making us frustrated by a total lack of customer centricity.
what annoys me is the availability about psn preorders is it isnt exactly fair n equal to all thier paying customers.. every1 gets it at the same time not 1 region here,, another 2 weeks later n every1 else cant wait til early access it isnt right n extremely poor buisness decision
just screams we value some groups of our player base more then others, fair enough being a japanese company to give them first bites at the cherry but everywhere else SHOULD of had it available at the same time no ifs or buts about it even the US players said it wasnt right we have to wait til the 19th and yet we wont even get an explanation why = =
While I have a physical copy of the expansion on preorder, I was looking forward to getting the CE (not just for the CE ingame items) but also so I wouldn't have to spend 3 hours driving to the store to pick it up, then 3 hours to drive back home and then however long it'll take to download updates/install etc. Now...
This is poor form on SE's part. There's going to be exceedingly high download traffic and download times are going to be horrendous. Guess I'll take the time from now, til the end of the month to work on my backlog and forget the poor management and handling of this whole expansion, both physical AND digital versions.

Poor show and complete disrespect to the PSN communities who are NOT SCEJ or SCEA.
The language is justified, yes, but posts that have gone missing weren't because of the language. I can only recall one of the 4 or 5 that are gone having a bad word in it.
------------------
Another point I'd like to make - you'd think they'd try to get this up as early as possible considering for EU PS3 users, digital download is the ONLY option. That's a pretty huge chunk of people who would want to preorder that literally have no other way to whatsoever. Plus other groups of users, like those in AU, are also severely limited because of the shipping costs, so realistically their only viable option is the digital download, too.
Yea yet when it was
happening everywhere everyone was getting upset you act like the US is some child getting more love then you well i'm sorry our psn is more on top of things then EU. you should not act like the US is getting favoritism Yes we got ours working and that was thanks to NA psn being unlazy for once. Yes SE is to blame for this but it's not about favoritism most of the blame lies with psn and EU psn they are the ones slacking off not adding it next week why? well id say ask EU psn

The lack thereof previously and the expected lack of news in the days to come. You have failed your Queen! Nay the entire of Eorzea! For it is lesser without it's Princess Queen, All will feel the loss on this day of sadness. Should you ever expect to regain our favour you would need a sizeable amount of Gems, The most sugary of sweets and all of the ice cream of Ishgard. Send word to Ishgard that our plans have not changed and we shall be arriving on the nineteenth as was our Original Agreement.
what i am going to do is pre order the Standard physical copy to secure preorder bonuses, then upgrade to CE later to secure CE digital contents.
that way I avoid the PSN problems, and best part is, in my country there are no laws or regulations on pre order, nor do we have publishers, so it all depends on third party publishers who are already selling the game, and you can bargain to drop $5 or $10 :)
I 100% do blame SE and Sony but your acting like the US is getting royal treatment and that's very untrue do i feel you guys waiting till the 19th is unfair yes very but for this bug crap and other stuff psn was 77% to blame. And the fact EU psn is holding off after hearing about the NA bug {that was a fast fix} is on them but in the end i blame SE and Sony none of this was planed out i just hate when ppl act like other countries our getting some sort of love
Why do they hate EU so much?
because EU has many countries and each has it's regulations and laws, not to mention that The middle east countries are included in EU, while NA you only deal with USA and Canada and maybe 2 or 3 more countries.
The bug was discovered after it was placed on PSN can't really blame Sony for that. For all we know they received the listing close to the date of it going up - wouldn't surprise me. With the Japanese version I understand as there is no translation involved but NA and EU same language just different spelling...unless EU waits for NA to complete translation then spell checks it because lols budget
In comparison, you do. All your preorders are accepted. Codes have been used. We are sat here twiddling our thumbs waiting for news, so you'll forgive us when we say its entirely plausable that you do as a region get preferencial treatment.
All your issues appear to be sorted. And we as the EU playerbase are expected to wait and wait and wait.
So yeah, the anger is justifiable. Put yourself in our shoes, paying for the same service and product and receiving lack luster service.
This should been done last month for EU/NA and JP for the PSN, leaving this late for the EU is really well un professional. What if get glitch's and bugs will have knock on effect on PSN means set back EU players even more. Part me should expected EU players get mess around again. I'm pc user but I do feel for all you PS users, this isn't right.
This should of been done all last month.
Now I have to decide whether I'm willing to trust this will actually get released on the 19th at all and if it does, it won't have any problems. I really wanted a digital collectors edition but I've really lost confidence with psn doing anything right. I bought a game yesterday that said I could play as a certain character and I can't, they've forgotten to add this weeks witcher dlc and every week dead or alive dlc comes out something is missing or incorrect. These are just the games I deal with, from the dozens of complaints on the blog each week I get the feeling the store is run by some very badly trained monkeys. Of course I'm not saying SE isn't somewhat to blaim this time, I'm sure they held off adding digital preorders to get as many sold through their store as possible, probably without the realisation of how incompetent Sony EU can be.
dont forget while they are all happily playing early access n exploring new maps we have to wait til early access starts b4 we can even purchase it on psn lol so yeah i agree they do :3
dont forget there still isnt any news about psn EU digital preorders on thier fb page or lodestone alot of players dont even visit forums so they still have no idea when its going to be available to them
You realize that regardless of where you pre-order from you still have to wait until SE makes the data available to download rather then anything to do with PSN. and that won't likely happen until the 19th. So the only advantage people in the US have is they won't have to download that extra 1.7 Gb on the 19th.
Except sakura, the NA has MORE then enough time for people to get the expansion, EU servers are going to get screwed the same day early access starts. and anyone ps3 or ps4 who tries to get it has a very high (read almost certain) chance of not being able to download the damn thing due to either ddos or server congestion.
There's you EU date now. Wake up at 00:00 buy the game go to bed , wake up early in the morning and enjoy the game. Don't see what the problem is cause you WILL still be able to play with everyone for early access on the same day.
Thanks for the update and at least we all get to play the game at the same time.
If that is the case on the day, then that isn't too bad. But like others have said, they aren't going to put the game on PSN at midnight. Most likely it will be later on in the day, so we are definitely going to miss out on at least some of early access. Then if you factor in awful download speeds, and any bugs that could occur... basically I am not that optimistic that I'll get much out of EA, especially not on the first day!
As long as it doesn't effect them and their play time. Its fine right?
I think the none EU people replying really don't get the issue.
"But this could happen and that could happen" All valid, but at least you can pre-order at least you will be ready on the day.
Our anger is justified, and there ain't a damn thing you can say that will change our opinions. A very poor service from a company, that quite frankly should know better.
I still hope for it to be on EU PSN nex week.(that community response just being a generic dont woory itll be availible thing)
If not i get the standart physical, SE appearently does not whant my extra cash form the Digital CE then.
But still as EU customer i fell treated like shit, not only because we will get it late, but also because of the lack of communication, clearness, transparency and acknowledgement of our worrys.
We got a response but it made everything worse, noone is happy about the 19th date. And everyone is fearing issues like the NA version had, wich means we propably miss out on early acces all together. And it feels that SE doesnt care about us customers.
As a fellow EU player, I can understand that people are angry about the EU Community Rep’s response, rather than happy about hearing an official date which happens to be the starting date of the Early Access. But that does not give people permission to use foul language to someone else to express their frustration/disappointment/anger. Believe it or not, the employees from SE, the FFXIV team and the Community Reps are still human beings which are to be treated with a certain degree of respect (like you would towards any other human being), whether you agree with them or not.
On top of that, the delay of the Pre-order on the EU PSN Store does not fully lie with SE, but Sony’s EU release policy as well. I’ve seen multiple occasions on the PSN Store where the EU players would get access to the content, which has been published on the NA/JP Store weeks prior to that.
This is what Shuhei Yoshida had to say about that in another (non FFXIV related) article:
Keep in mind that we’re talking about a pre-order of a game. There are more important things in life then to get worked up about a release/pre-order date of a game.Quote:
