Are you saying that on your server the leader gets to lock an item but nobody else does? That sounds asinine if so. As the previous Balmung posters stated, let everyone lock 1 piece of loot that they're trying to get and everything else is greed. Or the primary/secondary plan with primary being locked and secondaries having a max of 2.

On Tonberry people generally call one item each, and anything not called is free for all, but greed only, no needing. I've been in a few groups where the leader will allow 2 designated items and up to 2 people competing for rolls on the same piece, but that's the exception rather than the rule.

Sometimes we have people preemptively call the second drop of something someone has already called and I haven't seen a problem with it but I can see how it could get out of hand.

I have never joined a group that had reserved loot, been playing these games since UO...Once I hear or read "If poop drops so and so gets it" I don't join or excuse myself. I also don't think much of people who join under those conditions and ignore the rules, not right either.
