Poetics Cap Doubled!

Not everyone cares about best-in-slot, and most 'BiS' items which aren't high ilvl tend to require a fair investment to get to that stage (such as melded accessories) which some players simply can't afford. There's nothing wrong with wanting to have all the poetics items, just like there's nothing wrong with someone who wants to collect all the dreadwyrm gear. It's down to personal choice.

The only ninja armor sets that are shared with monk are the ones that were already in the game when ninja was implemented. All future armor sets are supposed to have separate pieces for ninja and monks.

@cap increase - huh, I guess I have something to do now since I capped poetics last night farming ponies. Wait, I probably would've farmed more ponies today anyway so it doesn't change much. xD

Great I can get some new looks.

having the number doubled is more than enough. getting a weapon has dropped from three to two, and you can get more than one piece per a week if you feel inclined.

So they nerfed poetics cap too

On one hand I am as happy as a super genius Bond villain with a plan goes as expected. I can gear up my alt classes and go into extremes & raids as alt classes without being a hindrance to the group.

On the other hand... NooOooOoOoOooOoOooOooooOooooOoooo. Mondays are my day to level a 3rd character. And the completionist in me will demand that I cap poetics on two characters.

Now we just need to be able to do something with the old Soldiery gear as we upgrade to Poetic gear on main and alt classes. I am a bit surprised that we still can't turn old Soldiery gear in for Grand Company Seals or desynth it.

Nice. I was just working out my Poetics plan and found that I needed to cap each week until 6/16 to prepare a full 130 tanking set for my Dark Knight. Now with 900 cap I can do it much more leisurely. (Or rather it just means I'm still gonna cap each week but now I'll be able to complete my healing set as well.)

Personally I think we should just do away with the weekly cap nonsense and shift more of the rewards into the daily roulette bonus. This means earning it steadily every day is significantly more efficient than spamming dungeons the whole day, encouraging the same play as now but giving more freedom to heavy players.

Weekly caps and rested bonus are just another incarnation of the fatigue system. Most of us should be mature enough that we don't need to be told how long each day to play games.

with the increase in poetics i can now fully upgrade a third alt in iron works but cant decide between ninja and summoner or maybe bard. Any suggestions for a monk and warrior main?

Since you already have a melee DPS, I suggest you do Summoner or Bard (or even a healer to complete the trinity). My Main is PLD with DRG and WHM as my "main alts"

It is more the devs saying you how fast you can get equip. They always do it, even in other games. Most time they do it with very low droprate on the equip.

Well you could always stop doing any activity ingame that awards poetics when you hit 450/900 every week and retain the same thrill/challenge/whatever of the original poetic cap.

Yes yippee and all that... But what I actually said was "I hope they double the amount of poetics dropped in the dungeon"

I honestly don't know why people are complaining that SE is making it too easy for people to gear / do dungeons, everything will be useless in a month anyway. They just wanted to help people to gear up / clear content before the expansion is released.

Let the grinding begin....

Doubled.... DOUBLED!? Like, I appreciate the effort and that it's better than nothing, but still... It's still a cap and I would rather have unlimited resources to build something from. I'm over halfway done levelling my Bard and would like some good gear to put her in before Heavensward, but I'd also like to level and fit a White Mage inside some Ironworks too! Gah, so much to do!

Ironically the ACC-heavy poetry gear may serve better in the 51+ fate grind of 3.0 than if the leveling is anything like 1-50
