As someone with English as his first language (not sure on yourself), it adds a lot of flavour and life to the world. It gives detail on how people would communicate, which helps establish a connection to the world itself.

Anyone remember the term, "MoB" from MUDDs and then UO, EQ? ....I got aggro'd by those MoBs!

I like the games without the holy trinity =/ kinda make some of your questions not applicable...
