Pretty much this, I know I've been running WAR a lot lately to practice my CD management.
PLD would put into STR if they don't put it into VIT.
I don't think DEX is really viable.

Warriors have to plan CDs out too...
You must not have tanked T9 as a Warrior when it was hard content. I remember before my static got to the last phase researching exact timing of Claw, and having to figure out an exact rotation of CDs based on their timing. Though lately I have wondered if Claw is one minute apart allowing for easy mode ToB + Con then Vengeance, repeat. The one I used had Foresight + Con as a bridge, which made the fourth claw a nightmare. I had to learn really quick when to use IB just right.
Also, first phase Beak. I had to figure out the third Beak: land SP after dive, ToB (maybe Foresight too, been a while), IB, Infuriate, IB at 5 seconds left on debuff. I died there due to the spike from other damage on critical learning attempts, and I could tell it was discouraging to the idea of me tanking the fight, as we had a PUG telling them Warriors can\\'t solo tank T9.
So that aspect is very similar.
Yeah, this is where I think we're not actually talking to each other effectively. I dislike Warrior because it is so strict. The answer for Warrior mitigation is not ever going to vary in any noticeable capacity. It's always going to be Inner Beast or Inner Beast plus another CD. The rest of everything I would do as a Warrior tank beyond that is total fluff and nothing I care about which is why Warrior is boring to me.
I really do think Warrior is a fine tank for any content. Just not a class I ever want to play in anything ever.
No offense dude but if you're saying that your War sucks a bit. War have equal or even better mitigation tools than pld, the fact is that the pld ones are a shield that works for itself and like 3 buttons, while war has more complex ones. For example war's "shield" is Inner Beast, which you must use in certain moments, and war's damage debuff is Storm's path, which is his 3rd combo, while the pld's one is Rage of halone, which is his only combo(inb4 riot blade too!!! it's not a combo). So in a situation like the adds of t10 the pld needs only to halone both adds and use cds, while the war should use IB in certain moments(using it while adds are casting aoe is useless) and apply SP on both of them. The fact is that many wars prefer to use Steel cyclone for damage/aggro instead of IB, and to use SE/BB instead of SP, so the main mitigation tools of war aren't used in that moment. War is better for single heavy damage moves while pld is better for constant damage, for example in t13 the first Akh Morn(12k of damage) often deals 0 damage to me, because i have 70%(or even more, i don't exactly know how cds+storm's path debuff combine togheter) of mitigation + adlo(with convalescence) and stoneskin.
Why didn't you ask ME Hinata? Lol.. I WAR everything for our FC, I don't recall seeing this conversation ; ;
Everyone seems to look at my posts and assume that I'm raging about wars. I'm not. They're fine. I would be reluctant to enter fcob without one. But it's foolish to pretend there's no difference from PLDs in healing. Wars can take bahamut's favor, secondary head, revelation, etc... but these things need to be proactively prepared for -- on both the warrior's AND healer side.
If you talk to most people in game, at least in my experience, they will flat out say warrior cannot solo tank t9 even with the current gear levels and echo buff. I disagree. War can do it. But in that example in one of my earlier posts, I was just showing how it differed from the healer's perspective and took a bit more precision to handle. If you act like you're healing a PLD when you're healing a WAR they will die.
