Error 2002

Got kicked when i tried to leave ST.
At this point i understand that that is a known bug...i just really hope that it will still count my ST as successfully completed...

So I just got off of work and have had this issue for almost an hour now, look here and see at least it's not just me. What I think is funny is that they KNOW this is the most played time for us because this is exactly what was announced in their thread with the Mega Cactpot, this is the time the drawing is done because "It's the time of the week where there is the most traffic of players" so this maintenance is literally at the time when they know is the MOST busy... I... I don't understand........ SQUARE ENIX!!!!

I don't even have any tech support for stuff to do right now either. Go me getting everything done beforehand so I could play peacefully.

North American Data Center Maintenance (Mar. 14, Mar. 15)
At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on the North American data center. During this time, players may be temporarily unable to connect to the North American data center, or may become disconnected from the server, but gameplay will be possible by logging in again.

yeah still not able to get back in......starting to think even Tera servers are better.....

Yep just got another 2002 again, I'm gonna nap -.-

The fun part for me is that between me and my 2 roommates, I am the only one that got kicked from the server and can't get back in. They have been happily playing for an hour now, while I sit and wait for it to let me back in... So much fun...

Just the data centres are down, the servers still work, that's useless lol

I have a similar issue. I have FC mates on Skype and some of them got booted and are still attempting to get back in as well while the rest are all happily playing. It seems if you do a dungeon like most of us had been doing(and raids) you're screwed. Otherwise you can happily play away.

Yeah, just read back to the post by Matra. As long as those who are on don't enter anything instanced, they can continue playing. Once you enter an instance, or exit an instance, you get the boot, lol.

I wish I knew that beforehand. Though we entered fine, it was leaving that got us. But oddly only half of us got booted, the rest are still playing.

SE gave an update finally:

"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the North American data center wherein players are unable to log in, log out normally, change zones, or transfer to instances normally. The issue is being investigated and addressed, and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dear Diary: Today, I decided to play FFXIV. Then I could not.

I spent all of last week getting error 2002. Nothing is more fun than finally getting back in game for a few days only to get 2002 again. I love this game but this company needs to rework how its servers work. Not to WoW fanboy but i have never had as many problems with that game as i do with this game.

And to think, I'm paying for this, lol. Yay. I could have bought some Baileys and had a bit more fun

Im just disappointed. I was getting ready to run crystal tower raid with fc for the first time and this happens...booted as soon as I accept que.

If u wanna now as soon as the server is up just run your command box.. or type cmd and type in ping 199.91.189.74 -t and when u see a reply you'll know the server is working again :)

I was able to log in, now I just have to wait for my character to get logged out :D

I can now get past logging into the data center, but it unfortunately tells me I am still logged into the game! I guess that is "some" improvement! LOL

Finally. I'm in. (Faerie)

I can understand scheduling maintenance for as awful a time as primetime on a saturday. I can understand technical difficulties resulting in people being unable to log in despite saying that people would be able to. What I don't understand is why we didn't get a notice it was happening in the first place upon logging in today, or why there was no ingame globals.

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been locked out of FFXIV for about a week now with these constant 2002 errors. And now FFXIV is crashing every time it closes with the error.

Tried that trick that __Shinobi__ put up, about pinging the server. I get a reply but it doesn't help much if the client cannot connect.
