Man... The Speed runners are going to be pissed about having to wait at the end till time is almost up for their Ninja to catch up.
Guys! Don't leave yet! We have to wait for the ninja!
- Dude, he's right there. *points*
He won't finish his mission until the last second, we need to give him more time!
- Man, what are you on about? I'm standing right here!
If we leave now he'll DIE!
- Yeah... okay pal... (no commendation for you...)
I'm not totally convinced that the Floating Continent is going to be the 24-man raid. They did say that the next one wouldn't be from an old FF. Also, there was only one boss on the FC (if memory serves, there's a miniboss during the countdown, too?), and he's already in FFXIV.
Although, I can't think of any other instance where there is such explicit fanservice other than CT, primal battles aside. There is a ton of common lore and references, but it's not like we have a Midgar 8-man dungeon, or a Moore Forest instance.
The Warring Triad was also not just a fight, but a huge plot point and a, er... venue to show Kefka's madness. That leads me to think that this is going to tie in with the story; maybe the triad is a war objective, or the primal of the Dravanians (do we know the Dravanian primal?) or an elder primal or something.
Yeah we killed the Dravinian Primal in coil. It's Bahamut
Looks interesting. I hope if there is a Kefka stand in, he will have the same nihilistic savior complex Kefka has in Six. At the very end of the game he wants to end existence itself to save people from what he sees as meaninglessness. The savior Kefka is more chilling that the crazy guy side everyone focuses on. Of course, it is kinda hard to top the idea of a nihilistic god you must slay. So, I don't see it working for a raid unless it is the absolute end of the game. Not quite yet in other words.
