Wow, addle brained. Classy. Due to Ps4, we've picked up 8 new players in our FC, and guess who tanked almost EVERYTHING for them to "progress"- me. Did I Speed run it? Of course, I've ran those soo many times. Did they complain? No, they thought I was a super hero for burning through it, most common comment was "You're a Beast" So don't tell me Newbs are against "fast,fast,fast".

Sorry to say, but most of us were speed running this for philo tomes in 2.0. Castrum and Prae are SE's version of "You must eat your veggies before you can have dessert", plain and simple. Scarf 'em down quick, get to the good stuff. Again, make a bite to eat, or roll a joint, sit back, relax and watch the cutscenes back2back at the inn.

Actually you can't watch the cutscenes at the inn for Castrum or Preatorium. Because a full party is shown inside them. I think SE needs to put in some dummies inside the cutscenes so they are playable at the inn.

To get to the thread though, you actually can just watch them if you want. If the party leaves you behind, it will not make much difference (no offense meant). When I go in Castrum or Preatorium and there's a newbie around, I just say you can watch the cutscenes if you want, but we'll have to leave you behind. Most of the time, most of them are okay with this, they can still fight the Ultima Weapon and Lahabrea but they'll miss the mobs.

If you really want a full experience with Castrum or Preatorium, I would suggest getting a full party with friends and take your time.

OP, you seem very nice and sympathetic to both sides so I just want to applaud you. You can watch these cutscenes in your Inn, a feature many new players aren't aware of.

Praetorium is particularly poorly designed because it can easily add an extra 20-30 minutes to a dungeon that can be completed in less than 20. I absolutely hate running this dungeon because my group ALWAYS gets a new player and I actually feel bad their end game story experience can be so frustrating. However, I'm trying to farm for that elusive Gaius card and spending an hour in a 20 minute dungeon is just not realistic either.

As mentioned just put yourself in party finder to find players on your server to help your friends complete the dungeon and enjoy the cutscenes. Then shout in Rev Toll to for players willing to help. Consider doing this for hard mode primals as well. Your server will appreciate the easy soldiery bonus! Often the party will fill up faster than a waiting for your duty finder queue as dps.

Unfortunately I've only encountered a whole of 3 groups (one was a 2 dps+ me group that decided we were bored of waiting for a tank; and cleared it without one) that taught tactics for fights. I don't think it really happens at all, regardless of what level of content your doing.

Having played on both "English" and JP server (Tonberry and Masamune)..
I have to say that the English community has pretty bad tolerance for new players..
JP, on the other hand, are more willing to wait for new players, etc, probably because it's part of their culture.

I'm not suggesting that you should change to a JP server, but I believe this is something that us, English players, should pick up on.
Just something for us to think about..

Jp player also same.. They will not wait for newbies, but I have best experience with English player in Jp server. I just hit lvl 50 last week and all my friends from FC helped me with the Castrum Merdium and Praetorium, we form a full party and they wait for my cutscene, I'm totally grateful that I play on this server with these people.

English community here are thin in Masamune so we all will be likely to help each others because Japanese people are not really friendly here.
