The PvP in my opinion is really fun, i played wolves den religiously when it was implemented and ive hit the PvP cap on every occassion (apart from 45 for Mael cause Uni.) And i'd say this about it:
Wolves Den: Was beautiful, however turned to ash because of the strict learning curve it gives, you have 4 people who you need to co-operate with, take that away and youre sitting ducks, + the rewards now in comparison to the FL matches seems pretty stupid in consideration losing FL gives you 10x more exp and marks in comparison.
Pros:
4 V 4
Less chaotic than FL
Very core based Fight.
Cons:
Strict learning curve
Long queue times.
Silencing of the lambs if you dont have PvP gear anymore.
FL Secure: FL secure is fun, its a Map domination game which quite frankly worked really well despite others complaining bout running about etc, this is what the advantage was for, you gain ground to get ground, then hold said ground, the whole point of this mode wasn't about "Player Kill" aspects, it was more of a PvE friendly mode but with PvP aspects which did work well for newcomers and hardcore players, especially since PvP gear doesn't strongly affect your standings in this mode. as well as friends can't play with you if they're more of a Yellow Banner kinda guy and you like the idea of being a pirate. (No Cross GC parties.)
Pros:
24, 48 or 72 Man Matches available
Strong gain of EXP/ Wolf Marks.
PvE friendly.
PvP Aspects
Ground Domination Game
Cons:
Long queue times (this can't really be a con, because it varies for everyone.)
Very team oriented.
New Players may still get slaughtered but it is less likely.
Can easily tide turn matches with flags instead of the "PvP" aspect of it. which only gives i believe the same points as slaughter per kill, with no kill benefits.
Shared LB.
GC Lockout
24 man is really dull due to one Flag.
FL Slaughter: FL Slaughter IS similar to FL secure, theres nodes to get, which do give a huge advantage to your GC, as well as it does require SOME co-operation, there's still team elements at play and it can be fun if you get into the swing of how different it can be from Secure mode. still a GC lockout.
Pros:
24,48,72 Man available
Very PvP Heavy.
Nodes spawn to split up the chaos to give buffs to your GC to help win.
Battle high buffs which is given after getting 4 kills+
Can't just run in to "dominate" an area.
Your own LB. (called adrenaline)
Cons:
PvP achievement requires kills (Like wot. Healers can barely pull off more than 5.)
BLM Cometeor needs to be negated. (such as not being able to cast the LB on the same spot as another.)
Strict PvP Community in Slaughter.
If you don't get nodes your'e less likely to gain point grounds and win, unless your The Mountain.
Quite Long Queues
GC lockout.
72 man can be chaotic.
Personal Opinion:
The GC lockout needs to be abolished and split it up into teams rather than GC's. this adds diversity into the player pool so no more of this "Maelstrom dominates Secure, Flames Dominates Slaughter" will keep happening. (Poor Adders.)
I tend to get decent Queues on Odin, however i did PvP on Malboro and i could end up waiting up to 2 hours to get into a match during PEAK SERVER TIME.
PvP needs to have some form of tutorial if im honest, alot of people can't grasp the core terms of the mode (not saying all players are stupid.) such as an optional choice from a Frontline Enthusiast in the city states. Teach them how nodes work and the main objective of each mode.
Increase Wolves den rewards. its seriously a big reason why people dont bother with it.
