Quick question if anyone knows! It's kinda a technical thing, but thought I'd just ask here. =)
I'm going to reformat my computer soon, and I was wondering if macros were saved on the server or if I need to save them on my hard drive. Anyone know?
Thanks for any help! :D

I can answer this, as I play on two systems and just recently devised a method of synchronizing my macro file.
The macros and ui settings are stored in two files, 'mcr0' and 'ui' inside the FFXIV main folder under user\[8-alphanumeric]\.
The 8 random alphanumeric characters are generated to name the folder for each individual character used on that system and contain the logs as well as these per-character settings.
On Windows 7, the FFXIV main folder is C:\Users\[yourUserName]\Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV. You could just search for a folder called 'Final Fantasy XIV' if it's not exactly there.

And you can copy those to a flash drive and when you reload your machine, just add them back to that folder again. All set!

Thanks both of you! :)
The good news is I found them and backed them up just now!
The bad news is I think my hard drive is dying (it's over 4 years old) - hearing clicking noises is never a good thing from a hard drive. . . And the hard drive light on my computer (that should only flash when it's working) is constantly on now sooo. I just ordered a new one and hope it fixes the problem. D:
Anyways, thanks again. Glad to know I don't have to re-do all those equipment/class change macros. XD
EDIT: Another question! So I was reading about the traits that give 10-100 affinity with certain class actions, but... someone just told me it only works when you AREN'T on that class. So if I'm on CON, I shouldn't equip the trait that gives better affinity this CON spells, is this true? I should equip something like the THM one because I'm using some of those spells or abilities?
Seems kinda weird to me if this is true to be honest... If that's the case, there's very few things that are worth buying if you just wanted to focus on that one class. I love my Fast Cast and Elemental Shroud can be a little useful for threat at times when I'm duo'ing. The rest though were useful for other classes (like the stat changes).

It's true, hence the '...up to a maximum of 100.' part. Although I don't know the specifics, from testing I've found that each class has 100 affinity for its own abilities, naturally. It also seems that THM has 80 affinity or so for CON abilities and vice-versa. DoWs have worse affinity for CON abilities, but I'm not sure if it's the same for all DoW. Someone could probably make an educated guess if they had all these affinity traits by looking at the cooldowns of abilities.

Oohh, okay. That makes a lot more sense now. XD Thanks. :) I should probably buy the THM one, then as I use several THM abilities/spells on my CON.
