You had your heads up, and the solution to said issue.

Why is it so hard for people to understand? This is not rocket science. If PSN is down, that is NOT a Square Enix issue. Similarly, if your Comcast cable/internet goes down in the city you live in, that is also NOT Square Enix's issue.

OP must be one of those people that would blame Apple if Verizon's network went down and they were temporarily unable to use their iPhone.

I know it's not SE fault and I'm getting very tired of people making me feel like I'm stupid on such thins so I'm done.

If you know it's not SE's fault, why are you posting it in SE's forum? ._.

They have no more power to change this than you do.

Your PS3/PS4 has to authenticate to PSN so that your user and license can be verified for playing an online game. Functionality such as game share, game streaming, cloud saves and trophies all use PSN services, so authenticating to PSN is unavoidable. Given the number of high profile hacks this last calendar year, I don't think you're going to get much sympathy from any operator of an online service that involves paid software licenses and services if you're asking them to reduce the security requirements for their service(s).

Indeed.

This point is also important to recognize.

"Please note that players that are already logged in can continue to play as long as they remain logged in."

The maintenance also stated that if you were logged on before the maintenance you would be able to stay online during that period

"PSN will be down for maintenance this Thursday, February 12th Sony has announced that the maintenance should last for 3.5 hours while they apply a series of ‘back end improvements to the network’. While the downtime will affect every console, players who have already signed onto the network before the maintenance begins will still be able to play games online and access apps."

Sony should change it's entire infrastructure for one game?
