yes well if you've already done 10-20 runs of wod every week and haven't seen the item you want drop since 2.5 was released and you're only after that one specific piece of gear i'm willing to bet you're not gonna risk it.

If I'm after a specific piece of gear I'll keep trying for it throughout the week til right up at the end of it, then I'll just lot the first thing that drops that I don't have but could use.
I have little patience for the 24-man raids. So, I roll on everything except for Ninja/monk gear since I don't have those leveled yet. Plus, I just don't have time to run that more than twice a week or so.
So SE, done 40 WoD since patch and the scouting belt has not dropped once. I am wondering, how many runs are you suppose to do till you get an item you actually want? I don't see a counter anywhere, if you could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated. Thank you.
RNGesus does not reward those without faith. Nor does it reward those with faith. It gives you hope with one hand and then crushes your hopes and dreams with the other. RNGesus laughs at your puny mortal notions of fairness.
Welcome to the world of RPG random drop mechanics. You must be new here :)
Indeed it does, after two weeks of grinding for that delicious crit+det fending chest I made a rant post in one of the other threads about WoD not dropping what people wanted and then in the next run I did I got my chest.
Also complaining in /fc works for gathering maps if you haven't seen the type you're after in 20 minutes
It has probably dropped on a lot of the runs you have done you were just in the wrong group.
Been running this for three weeks on my alt and I've lost every.single.roll that I've rolled on. WoD feeds on your tears.

Seriously...it's World of Nomura because literally everything is belts.
Statistically, there is no way that if the loot tables are properly weighted and the RNG is truly pseudorandom that a WoN run drops only belts from every boss. And yet...I've been in 2 of these runs and I've heard many others say the same, that they have also had belts-only runs.
Belts-only runs might happen once ever to someone in terms of statistical probability. The amount of different loot possibilities in each WoN chest is enormous. It happens over and over again, which is as I say statistically so unlikely that the only way it happens is if there is something wrong with the loot tables or the RNG. It's something that should probably be looked into, anybody remember how the original Binding Coil of Bahamut also had a loot table problem which resulted in the infamous over-weighting that resulted in tons of MNK and DRG drops?
I usually just take what I can get from WoD, I like running it but I wouldn't run it for a specific piece for hours on end, I will generally try run the whole raid and see if any good pieces drop (need a few Cloud of Darkness loot drops) if its getting late in the week, I will take what I can get.
I am gearing up both caster and MNK, so if any Striking/Casting pieces that I don't have drop, I will need/greed and hope I get it, I won't run it a dozen times for a slim chance at the chest-piece or something. There is only so much WoD raiding I can take in a week.
I've actually seen only a couple of belts, nor have I heard a single FC member complain of too many belt drops. I'm afraid you've just been statistically unlucky my friend. When things don't go our way we tend to form patterns that may not actually exist to explain our terrible luck. Like I've done City of Ampador probably 75 times and never saw that monk body but my friend saw it drop every other run he went, sucks but sometimes the dice are mean.
Do not let your suffering be known or the RNG God will continue to Dance to your pain since he is the one true God of FF14.
IDK I've only seen belts drop like twice, and I run it all the time..
I have not seen a casting belt yet.
Probability says one out of 2016.666666666... runs will be an all belt run.
It's not so farfetched as you might think that you get two all belt runs.
RNGesus just happens to be against you.
The RNG God is dancing to your Tune of Suffering.
We renamed the CT quest line to
Labyrinth of the Belts
Belt Tower
and
World of Beltness
XD
Literally crying from 4 days without seeing one monk headpiece.
I get belts half the time when I run WOD.
did the threads just get merged?
I keep seeing Belt of Slaying, Belt of Fending, Belt of Striking, and Belt of Scouting yesterday but none for DoM. This RNG just as horrible as CT and ST
and lol my post before merge has drown so I copy paste here :v
Today the nightmare begins again. Last week i got my drop because a guy kept the party waiting for a while without hitting greed or need. Then he felt guilty and just passed. world of scouting here I come.
Week 4: hopefully this week I get to actually see and roll on the bard chest in WoD...
So far I've run World of Darkness about twelve times.
Not once did I see any of the Healing set's pieces drop. Talking to the other healers I've been paired with, they've had pretty much the same experience.
But hey, Dragoon armour for days because they're trying really, really hard to make people play that class for some reason!
Today, I'll be after the awesome healing hat!
It's always BM/Mage gear that drops. World of Darkness I know but that's unfair to other jobs.
The 4th chest at final boss has popped all of ONCE out of 20+ runs. Not liking my odds of getting that minion :/
Saw that minion my first go and thought "cool... 100 percent drop rate apparently".
Haven't seen it since.
1st WoD run=MNK helm on first try
2nd WoD run=MNK pants first try
no clue what my 3rd run(today) will be :P
You are oversimpliying possible reasons why players leave early. There are multiple reasons, not just the one you've decalred. For example, maybe a player had a legitimate emergency, maybe their schedule is tight and they have other things to do ingame. Nonetheless your post covers the majority of leavers.
What i find most irritating are those that intentionally afk to get vote kicked to evade the 30min penalty. These players leave you guessing because asking to be kicked will often warrant a negative response. However the time lost in figuring out if someone is afk and getting a replacement in, has its own set of hindrances to the remaining raid of players. Players that demonstrate this kind of behavior need to man up and eat the 30min penalty.
