Well to be honest they are basically an exact clone from FFXI, that includes all of the aesthetic issues people had with them in that game as well. It would have been nice to see them put any effort at all in revamping the race but they were lazy. Also I vote Tera

If anything, put the Au Ra on hold so the devs can add wings and make them Gria.

I feel like a fox-like appearance could be achieved on Miqo'te simply with a new tail option and offering both genders hairstyles with black tipped ears, like some of the male Miqo'tes do.

Although, little wings would be prescious, I just want a variety of horns and different scale pattern options on Au Ra to be satisfied. I don't want to wait even longer for them then we already have to!

Can we have a turtle race? Maybe Shiva banged an Adamantoise instead of a dragon?

that'd be an interesting concept, actually...rather than a whole new races, add subraces to existing races.
Of course that's likely something for 4.0 and beyond, as the primary justification would be the story moving to a new land.

Well...people did vote for a mammalian beast race over a reptilian.

Not that those votes mattered much. The more I reflect on them the more I think they where really just a gauge for interest in what they already had planned.

Anyway, a fox race would be an even worse addition than bunny people. It would just be miquote with even less variation.
I think this dragon race balances out the designs better.

In that old 1.0 poll I think i voted for mammalian beast race, but I would actually pick reptilian now.

ahh the Venomancer/Werefox. they are unique in that they can actually transform into a fox. however unless SE were to add the ability to transform into a fox I wouldn't bother to play them. not to mention that I believe that 1 race that can transform into an animal might very well upset the balance of the game.

Have you seen the face selection? Have you seen Elves walking like a stick and I actually like the dragon race looks and movement looks a bit better.

You don't have to be a AU RA I am though first alt character to look at it and then change.

I'll agree that I'd make a fox alt character in a heartbeat, and pretty sure that would draw more players.
I'll disagree about putting the Au'Ra on hold - it's unique (to me, anyway). Not everyone may like the looks, but I don't often see too many dragony/serpenty/lizardy races in MMOs (though, when I do it's usually very Roe-like. Big and beefy. I'm digging the Au Ra's muscularity without big a giant ball of muscle meat)

I'll also disagree on making a female only fox race. Another MMO (I've honestly forgotten the name) did exactly this a while back and while I really wanted to like the MMO for including them, it was a huge turn off for me. It just made it seem like my options were rather limited - Either play a fox but unhappy that I'm forced to be the stereotypical cutesy mage fox girl in a little kimono (not a fan of playing femme characters), or not play that race at all (and then pine for that fluffy tail on a male character).
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've seen male-only races that would have been awesome..... if they weren't all overly buff and squat while being huge (sorry, Roes!) that were tiger and lion-ish and etc. Wasn't too keen on that, either.

IE, I'm not a fan of the limiting overly-sexualized one-gendered race idea.
But I am a fan of the idea of a fox race :x
.....and that people can either make their cutesy, kimono-wearing mage fox-girl, or not.

....hmmm.... ninja fox-boy sounds fitting....
