PSN is down

The three of you seem like perfectly awesome, reasonable human beings...but I hate you ; ; I am still unable to log into the psn on my ps4.

I'm so mad. I just got the ps4 and did the free upgrade before everything went to hell. So now I'm sitting here in a limbo waiting patiently, desperately hoping PSN comes back up before my code expires.

Is there a way to make the game accessible without being connected on psn?

Anyone having trouble still? I tried to hop on before work this morning and it wouldn't get past the big drawing of the 3 city-states for me. My PSN wasn't transferring any data, it looks like.

I'm gonna be bummed if I can't cap my Poe this week!!!!

I'm preparing my plant's funeral at the moment.

No. Because its on the PS3/PS4 and our accounts are connected to our PSN accounts it is impossible. Sony and Square would never allow it anyway.

It should be possible with the " Primary Console " feature.

It works with other PS4 apps/games, but not with FF14.

But probably Square Enix is just too lazy to implement it, they just want our money and think it's totally appropriate to just post a lodestone msg saying " PS3 / PS4 cant log in".

I'm sure it have nothing to do with SE, but with Sony want only the right PSN accounts connected to the SE servers.

And things would not change if money wasn't involved. People would just come up with another excuse on why Sony and Square "refuse" to fix a DDOS problem. Besides, this is not about what some low brow cheap kid wants or thinks they're entitled to have. We have people here who think the problems can just magically go away if big corporations stopped caring about money.

Sad thing is, I'm sure that somehow makes sense to them.

I was able to get in fine this morning on ps4. Gonna hurry and cap poe b4 something happens again. Wont be logging out thats for sure

I am wondering if SE can extend the Starlight celebration for those who still have not done it, and now can not do it do to psn being down? I hope they get the psn back up but it would be nice if SE would be kind to do this for all of those that can only access the game thru ps3/4. Not everyone has a computer that can handle the game and our playstations are the only way in.


PS. I am able to get into the game right now...I hope that it stays fixed fingers crossed....

Play on PC / Mac Bootcamp. That's the only way without PSN third party.

It's really sad they make us log into PSN to play a game that only requires OUR internet connection. I could almost understand if they were actually supplying the internet connection but they are not...

It's about time you guys moved to playing FFXIV on PC. With Sony out of the picture you just removed an extra layer of insecurity.
The only way you can't play FFXIV now is if SE get's DDoS. But then no one can play, not even console players.

Not everyone has a PC that can run the game like the PS4 (why do you think we play on the PS4 in the first place?) It's not as simple as that.

Again, it's not as simple as you make it sound, and it's not really about being cheap or anything else, because you know, people have expenses other than FFXIV? There's also the subject of how much worth it it would be to shell out so much cash for just one game because nothing else on PC interests me, while I'm able to run it perfectly fine on PS4, but whatever, I'm not gonna keep replying to you, lol. playing on console isnt as bad as you're trying to make it seem. i can do plenty on my console with out psn. i just can not play ARR. i have ARR on my pc but i much prefer to enjoy it on my console. all i really use my pc for is ummm.... these forums once in a while i guess

This wouldn't even be a issue if the game was allowed direct access to the servers rather than relying on psn

I remember being able to bypass PSN when I played on PS3, It bothers me SE can't have their client do the same with PS4. :(

We can do that with 1 device too. Just with a mouse. But honestly to each their own, I dislike people who try to say one is better than the other. We're all gamers and we should all be mad at the people who do this kind of stuff.

I got to the point of boredom from this outage, that I decided to add PC licence to my account, so I can access events and do things like crafting and gathering when I need to. I was pretty much preparded for 15€ investment only for the licence, but to my suprise it also added 30 days to my active subscription. In the end paying like 5€ for just the licence (taking account the included game time) it was not that bad a deal. At least now I can still play FF when PSN goes ape***t, or if my PS4 is occupied by other human beings. :)

Actually, you can play this. Been there, done that. The launcher just doesn't work. It needs to be rebuilt to not rely on PSN for the 3 seconds the launcher is used. Other than that, no PSN required.

Technically ffxiv needn't psn. Psn dendency is artificial. I can understand this in a situation when i needn't reenter password each time and can pay for subsscription using psn. For other ps network games it's so, for this - no. Pity (
