Just want to add my voice to the protests. Nin gear made the whole thing even more infuriating. At this point less than half the loot we get in t10 and t11 is indeed an upgrade, which makes the gearing process painfully slow. Add to that that both the carbon items are SO FUCKING RARE, and you end up in a situation where raiders can hardly gear up before the flood gate are open in the catch up patch, and they then need to use those other means to continue gearing up; and forget about farming a whole set before the lockouts are removed. System is broken as hell, please consider tokens in the future, i don't care at all about the damn "epic" feeling of loot drops. Currently getting the same shit over and over is all but epic.
I haven't seen T12 drop a single healing piece and we've been clearing that since the 1st week FCOB came out.
T13 has also dropped our 4th tank chest now....
We've killed T10 10 times now (missed the first week...)
We now are the proud owners of SIX healer boots. Not only that, but we've gotten 3 DRG belts and 3 MNK belts (with no MNK to boot).
We still need a tank bracelet, brd gloves, nin gloves, caster neck, str neck, dex earring x2, healing earring, healing hat x2, caster hat, tank ring, tank boots, and drg gloves.
Let me make that crystal clear. There are 12 possible drops that would be upgrades for our group from this turn out of the 20 total. That means, on any given run, we have a 60% chance of getting an upgrade.
Instead we're given healer boot after healer boot. If there was truly a 10% chance for them to drop (10 items in each chest) then the chance of getting 6 of them within 10 runs is 0.00006561%. Such a statistical anomaly.
It's clear either something's completely busted with the system or items are weighted differently. Either way, it needs to be fixed ASAP.
RNG is RNG... (I know that, 0 T10 loots in 10 clears).
For each item in T10, you have 10% to have it (items are chest dependent), 11.11% for an item on T11 and T12, 10% for T13 weapon and 14.29% for other T13 item.
Having 6 times the same item is really rare, but not impossible regarding the number of players.
So far having the same multiple drops is COMMON, it is not even RARE, let alone IMPOSSIBLE >->!!!!
What is the chance of having 0 Mnk Loot at all since the very first week of FCOB to now? Yet it is happening right now, at this very moment..Something definitely is broken...

This is exactly why I stopped doing coil. The loot system needs reevaluating so badly, and 4 end game bosses every 6 months with gear going obsolete so quickly just made me lose all desire to do it. What is the point of doing it? To do more of the same four bosses? It gets old quick sadly.

Yeah, it would be nice if it was like Shiva Ex, where you collect diamond dust to upgrade a weapon, but in coil you have to clear T10 say 10 times to get enough tokens to use towards a T10 item.
I'll have to see where this RNG goes, it's been 11 lockout weeks, and to be fair, for the earlier turns that my static has cleared we have seen most of the drops, but not all of them quite yet.
In FCoB, I was behind on ilevel in my static for a quite some time (as well as the blm) compared to our other 2 dps, but I guess it motivated me more to try to improve how I played my class in order to keep up and see what I can do to deal my dps while handling mechanics.
5 t13 clears and 0 healing robes or weapons. Sad days, sad days.
With that being said, I like the system how it is. Otherwise, after getting the tokens and their bis, people would prematurely stop running the raids before the patch cycle ends. I know I'd personally probably stop running if I got my last two dreadwrym pieces (I have everything except the body and weapon) and everyone else had their tokens.
Literally a 0.00006561% of happening. 1 in 1.5 million chance of occurring, and we're far from the only static to have such horrible luck. It's ludicrously bad game design to allow such a miserable game state to exist and say "LOL RNG better luck next time XD"
It's a combination of poorly planned drops (ie NIN BIS is 3 drops from t10, all from the same chest (+1 from other chest w/o using crafted) and then 1 drop each from the other turns) and no mitigating factor to control the luck that sucks. Random drops are fine as long as you give people the assurance that some day they'll get what they need. All the useful NIN drops are frontloaded in T10, yet it only drops healer boots and repeated STR belts. Without a significant fix I'm quitting the game, period. If content gets "outdated" quicker then so be it. 3-4 months of my subscription every 6 months is still better for them than 0. If they want to keep people playing, maybe instead of making content that's 6 months outdated when it's released they can start making dungeons and 24 man raids relevant instead?
There is a difference between having all the items in 10 week and having 0 of the items... I am now doing a very very naive (and false) calculation (but then people can understand the philosophy)... Current tier lasts ~6 months, so ~26 weeks. Perfect configuration for lifetime would be to be able to obtain all the items for main job within these 26 weeks. Since there is 11 different items, one can expect ~11/26=0.42 items per week. So on average ~4 items in 10 weeks of clears. So yes, we can complain if we still have 0 loot in this period of time. At the same time, some people already have all the FcoB loots on their main class. But of course, these guys would not complain at all :)
Best-MNK-NA: I agree with you, that really sucks, and it is a real bad luck. Same probability to win the best prize at the lottery. You should buy a ticket! :)
Change only for coil, since it's THE endgame content of the game. Idc if RNG is hard on me in CT or ST... but for COIL.. it's the real progression. Now, make it a gear token system. Do 5 runs a floor in coil, you have enough token to buy 1 item. Can be more then 5.. i just used a random number for this suggeestion.
Ok.....It would be UNFAIR and unwise to give a differant lot system to only a VERY small group players. I dont know how you could ever feel this is ok. but, knowing how "SOME" of you engamers think ..."Its ok because we suffer thur hard stuff" Well, its your choice to do that and you shouldnt be given a better loot system then the rest of US. "Stop crying and go Finish T25 or whatever". RNG is everywhere in this game. If you change it for some, you must change it for everyone. If not, its UNFAIR and ruins/breaks the game for everyone. ps: You are not special because you play the coils.
People running Coil sure aren't special, but Coil is. The weekly lockout changes everything and can effectively screw a whole group with bad drops. To put it bluntly, there's already a specific drop system for raids. Pretending otherwise is just deluding yourself.
My group gets no tank loot or caster loot. All we get is bard loot.. The worse thing is we keep replacing bards :-/
If they at least could take into account which classes are in the party that would be a big step in the right direction, For example in my group we have seen more then a few MNK items drop, problem is that we do not have a MNK in the party. To add to this, from BCoB, SCoB and FCoB we have never seen a caster chest drop ever.
If my memory does not fail me I am pretty sure they said something about changing the loot system for the expansion.
But that is not the way 'treasure coffers' work. Who is to say not having a DRG in the completed raid at that time doesn't mean the off-spec DRG doesn't need the gear either? Yes, I get that it could show up several more times but it's still good to have. A downside to RNG and having another job (NIN) in the possible mix.

LOL and i thought our group is the only ones with miserable luck until i stumble on this thread.
We have been clearing T10 from the second week since 2.4 patch, and until now our T10-T12 keeps on dropping at least 1 useless loot per turn (loots that have been dropped before, str gear where we dont have any str class, etc), which means effectively we only got like 2-3 DW items that can actually be used for our progression.
Take for example, my Ninja up till now only got 3 items, belt pants and choker, none of them are BIS.
SE really needs to do something about this.
