Patch Notes are up!

Liking the patch notes for the most part, but it doesn't make any sense to increase Shiva weapons ilevel to i115. It's the easiest primal and now it rewards something as good as T9. Say goodbye to all those T9 farm parties. SE made the same mistake back then by making Leviathan the easy primal and rewarding as good as T5. No one bothered farming T5 after. You either adjust the primal difficulty or adjust the rewards. There's so much imbalance.

Edit - and where's the nerf to previous relic quests? I was expecting at least some changes to books for Animus, it's so outdated now.

Just quest turn-in items for the quests themselves are omitted. I, personally, would've included the names of the final weapons as spoilers, but I guess SE doesn't see it that way. EDIT: Unless there's another tier of weapons that goes up to i135.

New dye on cash shop?? WTH?! why don't just place it on quick venture... Also the new requirement to get the new Artisan primary equipment reduced significantly lol.

Had mine for 6 months now and still miffed lol :D They clearly want to get more mastercraft demis out there so these will made for desynth instead of spectacles. Carp and Arm are now relevant to desynth, and BSM even more so.

Which is ridicolous for those like me who spent a lot of time and gils to gear up their crafting jobs. So, why don't we put Mastercraft Demimateria and High Allagan gear directly available at a NPC vendor for a bunch of gils next?

People make those? Excal is already over trying to pubfarm HA weaps because the increase is slight and anyone can get a minmaxed Nexus. All the T9's out have been late-phase practice/clear groups.

That depends on what kind of stats you're looking for. I personally find HA WHM/SCH/BLM/BRD/DRG weapons are still worth farming for. That and t9 is already started to get outdated.

Well, time to get back into Shiva EX again. Kind of wish it was like this in the first place, but Shiva EX is easy and fun enough and at least it won't be as irritating as farming Leviathan for mirror's.

A lot of players are wasting precious time farming weapons from T9 when they should be instead trying to get statics or groups for Final Coil after their initial clear. The Shiva weapon change will definitely boost the number of Final Coil ready players across servers which is a good thing.

Depends on a server. "anyone can get a Nexus", yeah, after hours upon hours of Alexandrite and light farming.

You've also had a lot of time to make a lot of gil back on crafts that lesser-geared crafters didn't have a chance at.

It looks like neither Salts nor Relish got a reduction for the glasses, but you should still be able to exchange them at the previous rate.

Oh man, some awesome stuff... as someone who mains NIN I'm not exactly raining with blessing heres this update, but nothing about it is crushing. New relic upgrades... Shiva weapon upgrades... Helping people in Coil being a thing now... all really nice QoL changes.

Of the negatives, super-super sad, NOT ANGRY, the Metallic dyes are cash shop. Guess I should expect like, 90% of the best cosmetic items to end up there now though. Still, Metallic Red would look so cool on some of the armor :Q.

Maybe they'll be obtained through ventures or something too...

I'm sorry you feel that way, but it's important for a game to provide ways for newer people to catch up. Them being able to get it easier won't change that there's still going to be new hard content, nor will it change that you were able to accomplish back when this was considered the hard content.


And guess what, the people who benefit from this will end up going for the new hard content, work hard for it, and see it get nerfed somewhere in the future for the next-next generation of new people so they can catch up too (and some of them will feel the same way you do, while others won't care because thanks to price fluctuations and people moving on, it'll be difficult for those newer people to catch up if the game didn't get any nerfs to help them).

It's no different than when new token systems are added while older token systems get eased, or when older dungeons/raids get nerfed. New people want to be able to play too; it doesn't change what the older players accomplished.

Don't worry early adopters have made their millions upon millions of gil which make up for any gil spent. Time spent is a different story.

While late adopters will no doubt be able to craft what they want and get the demimateria they need, they will never make the millions upon millions early adopters have already made.

As for players that got their grind done in the last week. There is nothing i can say that will mitigate your frustration.

On an additional note all higher tier mats will see a slight increase in price as demand by able crafters will multiply in the coming weeks. So prices may stay the same if not increase, depends how out of control the undercutting will go.

Pretty much. I imagine multiple Diamond Dust's might be required to upgrade a weapon but we'll have to wait and see for a couple more hours.

Yep, I'm not 100% into the look of Excalibur and who knows what the Aegis Shield looks like.

I'd say it's a reflection of both the ability to get the mats and the (un)popularity of desynthing with the class for each - so they want to encourage more CRP desynth. Relishes and Salts got very little change (none for specs) for the same reason that they were the standard approach - easy mats.

lol@Aetherlouse being required to make one of the items that will be presumably needed to upgrade the relic (Perfect Pounce). I know the first thing I'm doing when game comes up is taking mine down from the MB! I ain't EVER trying to fish that up again.

Battle jobs do get screwed as much as crafters who were early adopters, even worse. It's much easier for people to catch up to i110+ gear than a new crafter to catch up to 3 star. Crafting is still very gil and time consuming to catch up with. Then most of the stuff is already not very profitable unless you're making the latest and greatest.

So lets take bets on wedding costs. Platinum wedding: over or under $50? I'm betting over.

Oh boy, I'm sure glad I sold all my Mastercraft Demimateria while the prices were still high!

Random crystalball: $5 for standard to cover 'event processing costs', $10 for Gold, and either $20 for Platinum or $50 if Platinum includes a physical item like a fantasy wedding certificate ala the legacy paperslips people got.
