We know he hinted at guns. It could be agent and I could see why people could think it's likely. I just think that it's a cop out, and I'd rather have another job. Just my opinion.
So it's even more obscure then. It just seems silly to base anything off of that. I hope we get something different, but who knows?
Im hoping for ranger. Been getting reaquainted with it in xi and its delicious 90% recylcle.
Nope!
Played 3,4,5,7,8,9,10,13. In fact I hated the combat system waaaaaay too slow in FFXI that I didnt play it for very long.
So what's it like being totally wrong about me?
Also, where did I mention DRK? Ooops, I didn't it, only you did, which means I wasn't talking specifically about DRK. It was a generalised statemant which covers all jobs that arent the same as there FFXI counterparts and players complaining that they aren't.
Ummm brah... lol there is a healing gun class in FFTA2 called Agent.

The people saying DRG uses heavy armor are incorrect. Armor has 4 types, not 3.
Cloth, Light, Medium, Heavy
Cloth: provides little protection (WHM BLM tend to use it) its physical defensive attributes are lower than the rest normally.
Light armor: tends to be leather-like. (BRD MNK and likely NIN) will use that one higher defense than cloth but lower than the rest.
Medium armor: tends to be suff like chain mail. Heavier stuff like the Templar set. (DRG mostly make use of it, defenses are too low for tanks to use even RDM used this in some FF titles) Higher than Cloth and light armor, lower than heavy armor.
Heavy armor: is used by tanks and is mostly Plate in design (useable by PLD WAR and DRKs in many other FF titles.)
Ingame armor for FFXIV, even FFXI its clear as see in BOTH games. Check ilv90 DRG gear vs ilv 90 tank gear... there is quite the difference in physical def. Ilv90 PLD/WAR body gear 158 def... DRG 110 and all share that scale.
They originally said they were going to do two DPS, (one of which would be ranged), a new tank, and a new healer. Either way, we'll find out December 20th.
Honestly I don't like the agent name, and the lore seems kinda of dumb lol. Hopefully its chemist
I didn't read the entire thread but to throw in my 2 cents, for what it's worth, I highly HIGHLY doubt that the gun wielding class (Musketeer?), will be a healer. I see the class as being more of a dps/support role like Corsair from Final Fantasy XI, or possibly like Brd with support abilities.
Or the shirt is a Hildibrand reference. He is the Agent of Inquiry afterall...

Agent? Really? A one shot job, on a spin-off and exclusive to a guest character that is not even popular? Not very iconic at all. This is game is pure fan service, we will see a lot of popular/requests jobs before we see a random obscure job like that one. Even SOLDIER has more chance of being a job then this.
We might as well have expected the Hero job on the Batman shirt in reference to DRK too... http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hero_(Job))
No, look at the leader of the Maelstrom and Limsa Lominsa for a sneak peek at the Gunner class.
I think people are forgetting the fact that... yah know, magic exists in Final Fantasy games. If science-ish based series/games like SWTOR can get away with gun using healers, not to mention games like Borderlands, one would think that Final Fantasy could definitely do just fine making sense out of gun = heals. Don't forget that games like Persona 3 involve shooting yourself in the head to summon something for an action (which includes healing).

It's quite possible that guns could be used with magic to create magic circles that will either summon something to heal or directly heal.
Pretty sure, Ninja will not count toward 3.0 jobs. so I expect another dps to be announced between now and 2.5 probably. Ninja is part of the 2.0 base class. Really NA FanF didn't reveal ninja as we already had the reveal for that since E3. Drk knight was revealed, and confirmed in EU, Gunner was hinted at again at EUFan and will be revealed at JPN Fan, hopefully they reveal the 3rd Job as well for the JPN Fan.
Imagine a chemist gameplay mechanic something like mudras where you have to mix different chemicals according to formulas that correspond to different types of potions which would then be followed up by a "Potion Throw" ability to be used on an ally. So many possible ways to allow them to support and buff a party.
Except Batman is known as The Dark Knight. Also Yoshi mentioned that he was a fan of Christopher Nolan's Batman (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises) in particular. So, no. The Dark Knight was the only thing that made sense from Yoshi's Batman shirt. Likewise people are digging into everything Yoshi's given us on the next one also.
Keep that in your own thread that you started, its a pretty loose confirmation if anything.
Are you sure the gun is not a reference to James bond and not a gun. so the Gambler class from many final fantasy games? Things like using a slot machine to do damage.
Using a gun to heal worked well enough in Xenoblade Chronicles and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Yoshida's probably loving all this debate and drama right now. He did mention he goes through the forums and reads all the feedback.
2 MONTHS!
I hope they make it a chemist with a rifle not a pistol :)
