Give people the benefit of the doubt - not everyone hates doing these primals or sucks at it. If they were, you'd have other 500K+++ coming into these forums complaining about how bad it is.
No one complains about them because they're VERY optional. Not Atma optional, because that at least guarantees you a fine weapon with enough time, but optional in the sense that you're doing it just for fun.
But I agree with Brightshadow. If it's going to be a roulette that makes you go in solo then I better get 1000+ myth tomes from it. And even then I just foresee people instant-leaving if they wind up with Titan EX. :I
As for T5 I would personally ask some people you know are in second coil to give you a hand from time to time. Or gather a bunch of people who know what they're doing. The thing about T5 is, there's not much point in clearing it twice. So most people doing it haven't cleared it yet.
Talk to people. Make friends. Ask your friends to help you. Problem solved.
Well, that is assuming that your aren't wiping the group.
The roulette would be optional too so we agree it's a win-win. No one would be obligated to do it, but you both are right, and I could've stated, some nice rewards would be ideal (if only to compensate for the effin $@#$tty mount drop rate).
Word of mouth is very powerful. Unfortunately I missed out in joining my best rl friend in his FC but I'm in their sub-WOLF linkshell. He had three people he took through Titan Ex and throughout his strat explaining I think he scared them #$@-less. Few weeks later, there's another one that needs it, and it's just me, my friend and the new member in the ls, and they're both chatting about the fight casually. I can't remember if he went with him or not, I was busy in a duty, but I know he tried it (the new member) by himself sometime later, and although he didn't clear it, he had high hopes/optimism about it.
Unfortunately T5 on our end is very doable via DF :(
SO I've been working hard on Levi EX and some other stuff.
You know that feeling as a healer when a group almost gets the win (Levi EX in this case.) but it was my getting used to the fight that stopped it from happening. (early attempts I got hit by a lot of dives and stuff, but I tried to do better at dodging, which my survability did improve, but then I had MP issues and couldn't time heals well enough to keep people topped up and alive when I knew I had to dodge to avoid my earlier mistakes.) Learning to heal hard fights is tough, but I guess T5, Levi EX, etc. is where the game really starts getting tough, especially on heals. This was DF though and on the best attempts I was not getting hit by avoidable stuff nearly as much, I just have to be able to tie it all together, with dodging and healing timed as well as I can so I can keep peole alive, dodge, AND not run into oom situations.
Haven't gotten that practice on Twin yet, but that's because the queue for Twin seems to never go through on df. I suppose that'll change on FC coil night (if they're even doing twin.) but I really wish I could've gotten some DF practice before coil night. I had to settle for the Levi EX practice.
I have been stuck on Moogle Ex since it came out and therefore cant move past to Ramuh Ex. Duty finder Queues take 40+minutes usually 60+ (if they queue at all) and Ive had maybe only one or two people join in on PF after 4 hours of waiting...
I know the feeling and I really hope SE acknowledges it and brings out a Duty Roullete: Coil and Duty Roullette: Extreme Trials to help ease the issue, or find another way to help us get completion since no one does these much anymore.
I'm having trouble clearing Turn 5 through duty finder too. With 2.4 there will be new gear. SO hopefullly this will help some people clear Twintania. Divebombs seem to kill most groups instantly. i think you have to be patient though. I've made pretty good progress in that fight over the last few days.
Yeah my FC is totes doing Turn 5 so I don't have abnything to worry about. I just hope our attempts tomorrow (saturday) go well and we can maybe make our way into second coil from there.
Also got in some more good Levi EX attempts on DF, still didn't get a win because people threw in the towel after a few wipes. (even though we could totally do it if we just worked at it a little more and tightened things up and had a few people dodge a few more things, we would've had it down, but alas, duty finder. Maybe I can convince my FC to consider Levi for Primal night on sunday,)
with people grinding lights you can clear those via DF with ease even while dead
So me and my FC put in a few tries on Twintania (http://www.twitch.tv/clawshrimpy/c/5278042) we had to PF for tanks, and we seemed to be having the most problems w/ Divebombs. I'm still trying to learn how to move and dodge them myself. they're a lot harder to dodge than even dives on Levi. We had to stop because the PF tanks raged out, unfortunately. I just hope we can make more progress. :(
