i want there to be something to scare away narutards before the term lolnin is coined.
Because the trend is to think that macros are universally bad. A BRD that uses a Misery's End macro? Might as well just not even attack at all with how much of a decrease in damage that macro will apparently do (in their minds). Wouldn't be surprised if these same people actually think macros for crafters are for "scrubs" too. In which case, I'm gonna scrub it up all I want, I'm still making millions off these people.
I don't see how a macro for ninja (assuming the 3 skills combined to create the desired effect can be macroed to an equal or faster time than manually) Can be a bad thing.
The only disadvantage I can imagine is if you have 5 different mudras (I II III IV V VI) and you are going I II III for a certain effect but something happens on the battlefield where you are mid combo and decide to switch to I II IV which could be more effective for example an AOE when a bunch of adds pop like garuda's feathers. That seems to be entirely massively situational and judging at the speed they are used already would require really good timing.
In my opinion I would imagine macroing the mudra's would make perfect sense as you could have all the desired outcomes neatly organised to be used at will, even more so if they can be done with minimal wait times that could be quicker than human input.
its bad because it would let people bypass having to memorize them. and judging by the vitrol im getting im guessing a lot of people wanted to be lazy and do just that. i have no problem with general macro use but this is different.
edit:even though its not possible, to me it would be like a monk macroing thier entire rotation instead of memorizing it and adjusting it on the fly.
Fine, no more SCH macros. Hope you can wait to die before I finish finding my abilities on these 4 crossbars.
I don't think harder combos is going to make the Job any less desirable to those who want to play it. The elitists will abandon the job when they find out that it can't compete with MNK DPS, and the "scrubs" will just play the job badly. I'm calling it now, NIN is going to be the next loldrg.
I'ma be the best Ninja in FFXIV.
Srs. Da Best Ninja.
^ Yea, that is definately not how to do it. Glad you figured that out. The misconception people have with macros is "it will do it for me". You are not a bot lol. Or maybe you are....whatever. WS, for the most part, should not be macro'd together as described above. However, OGC skill macroed with WS at times can be good. Like I said earlier, it all depends. I ran with a DRG that looked like he was in a stobe light with his combos coz of macros. It was funny.
Let people play however they want. If they'd like to macro their skills, why shouldn't they be able to? Anyone who puts the macro in obviously knows the combination in the first place, or they wouldn't have been able to create the macro.
Testing someone's memory isn't the same as testing someone's skill. One of those involves reacting on the fly to new situations, while one just involves doing the same thing you did last time. Pretty much 90 percent of every boss battle in the game.
