In Fernehalwes's post on Padjal Naming Conventions in the 1.0 Lore Forum, he notes that the Padjal's language is an "ancient language" and that "if the name is Padjali, you can assume the location has been there for a long time." I was under the assumption based off Raya-O-Senna's dialogue that the Padjal were created by the Elementals only 500 years ago, during the exodus from Gelmorra. Are we calling those 500 years ancient history, or did the Padjal exist at one time before that?
500 years, in comparison to the rest of Eorzean history, seems like a negligible amount of time. If Padjal were only created 500 years ago, and ancient places like Tam-Tara and Toto-Rak were only named in the last 500 years, why does Gridania not have a Padjali name as well?

How is it that some members of the Sultansworn wield weapons associated with Conjury (wands) yet wear a tabard, (which is restricted to DoW)
-
From a lore perspective, is it possible for a character to cast certain types of magic with a focus simply on their person, or do they actively have to be wielding a weapon to utilize that discipline.
-
When you look at the physical appearances and differences between races such as Lalafell and Roegadyn, do they usually have some way to counter that, through aether or some such? It is assumed that Lalafell and Roegadyn would be able to match each other (same work in Brass Blades / sworn etc) otherwise all guards would be Roegadyn, etc.
-
We see kobolds and Ixali at places such as Limsa's buildings. Have relations between beast tribes always been tense or were relations friendlier and more amiable before the recent primals' summonings?
-
What is the deal with them sort of having nobility and high houses, while still being marginalized in Gridanian society? Where do the majority of Duskwights actually live? What are tangible differences between their culture and Wildwood culture? Can you go into more detail about the Pact of Gelmorra, the foundation of Gridania, and the role this played in splitting the Elezen into the Duskwight and Wildwood populations, and the role of Gelmorra in Duskwight culture in general?
Goblins, Qiqirn, and Mamool Ja are considered beast tribes. Is this just because of their non-human appearances, or do they also worship primals like the main five beast tribes and the moogles do?
In the Summoner questline, Y'mhitra talks about how summoners were Allagan in origin, meant to combat the primals summoned by the people of Meracydia as Allag attempted to conquer them. Can you tell us if these native Meracydians were members of a beast tribe, or of the spoken races?
-
Why is Magitek (weapons, armor, etc.) used strictly by the Empire?
Will magitek ever make it's way to player's in the form of armor/weapons beyond the magitek mount?
Furthermore, do the three city-states intend to fight a strictly defensive war with the Empire or is there any intention (even if currently unattainable) to strike back?
I'd very much like to see more of the Empire proper and see the player base move into a more offensive position rather than defensive or better put a more proactive approach to dealing with the Empire especially after Ultima's defeat.

What about the great library (in ishgard maybe) you could add in the game with lore books inside? Any news?
-
It is either outright stated or implied that natural-born Garleans are unable to or do not use aether. Is this because they do not possess the knowledge to do so (ie they can be taught to do so) or is it because genetically they are unable to?
-
Can you tell us what happened to some of the bigger, named characters from 1.0? Or if they will reappear in the future?
Character's like Khrimm, Fye, and Dunstan? Brother Morys? Captain Hob?
J'moldva quit being a Wood Wailer?
Why does Greinfarr the Great go by The Bronze Bull now?
How is Captain Hyllfyr doing these days? I heard he lost an eye...
-
I too would like to learn more about Garlean society. What is their culture like? As far as I know, all we have seen of Garlemald is their military. Surely not ALL of Garlemald is filled with soldiers and Magitek weaponry.
Let's see... oh! They would very likely celebrate their engineers, especially considering their lack of magic. Is there a special academy for engineers in Garlemald? Or a nationally-held "Science Fair"-type deal where various engineers from all across Garlemald come together to demonstrate their inventions? Maybe with Imperial sponsorship on the line?
-
Is it implied that Sultansworns can go into battles or head into war outside of Ul'dah? Or are they only working at the Royal Promenade and Husting Strip?
-
What is the state of the other areas of Coerthas besides the Central Highlands, the ones we can't visit in ARR? Is this seemingly eternal winter affecting the Lowlands as well?
-
Is it implied that no characters are able to become or have the power of white mage in future lore?
What can we know more about Amdaporean lores besides what we have learned so far from 2.0?
Is it actually confirmed that it is likely that no one survived in Lost City of Amdapor?
-
Will we ever see Samurai or Puppet-master any time soon?
-
With Yugiri's outfit, is it implied that Doma is only Arabian style of far east country? Or is there also Japanese theme based country?
-
Will there be slightest hint that Musketeers/Gunners/Corsairs will be able to fill into this lore since they have been replaced by rogues? Or how will they fit into the lore now?
-
Can you bear Hydaelyn's Blessing (the ability to resist being Tempered by a primal) without having the Echo?
-
Will deeper insight be given into the tribal aspect of Miqo'te society? As it stands the majority of Miqo'te who show up during the game favour city life or resort to banditry in the wilds. Only in Thanalan can we find a number of quests touching on the tribal aspect but only for one specific tribe.
-
Can we get more information on the Keepers of the Moon and their culture? All we know is their naming conventions and that they're a matriarchal society.
-
The Faeries that accompany Scholars don't seem to be from this world yet also don't seem to be a type of Voidsent. What more may we know about them and where they are from?
-
Are there societies of Duskwight that are not simply bandits and if so - what are they like? When it comes to elezen, a lot of the focus is on Wildwood, because they make up a large population of Gridania and Ishgard.
-
An untargetable Carbuncle in Revenant's Toll named Ruby displays what seems to be an impressive level of intelligence capable of summoning and unsummoning itself as well as behaving in an obstinate manner towards its partner who wanders about searching for it. What more may we know about Carbuncles?
-
In the 1.0 Limsa Lominsa main story quest "Never the Twain Shall Meet" we confront (presumably) our first Ascian, Travanchet, after he steals some sort of ancient "Key" from Seal Rock. According to Llymlaen's Perykos and Thalaos myth, Seal Rock was supposedly the very isle to which She bound Perykos and Thalaos to prevent them from flooding the world. If that was just a myth, what did the Ascians want with the treasure of Seal Rock? What was that key for? Why did Y'shtola also want it?
-
I love using the Roegadyn language to create and read names. Are there any plans to elaborate on the 'old' languages of the other races?
-
The ancient society of Amdapor has had two dungeons pertaining to it, Amdapor Keep and the Lost City of Amdapor, which has shed more light on the people of that bygone time and place. Can we expect to see this done for Amdapor's contemporaries in the future?
-
Just what can the third eye of a pure-blooded Garlean do?
-
Can you flush out and clarify the lore around Ul'dah's political structure? Many see the Monetarist as villains but I see hinted in many a quest the idea that both royalist and monetarist have their good moments and bad. So if you could clear it up a bit as well as clear up the actual political hierarchy, that would be boss.
-
Do "city-folk" Miqo'tes (like those who live within Limsa Lominsa) have significantly different lifestyles from their traditional counter-parts like the Tribe of U and are they independent from their original tribes?
-
Can we get some info on when the Male Miquo'te, Female Roe, and Female Highlanders appeared in Eorzea?
Whatever happened to our Adventuring Companion from 1.0?
And will we ever get to visit more continents besides Eorzea?
-
Do most Miqo'te tribes exist as hunting societies like the Tribe of U or are they "dissolved" into larger communities?
-
Can you give us some more information on Dravania? Is the Dravanian Horde comprised mostly of dragons? How do "heretics" go about allying themselves with the Dravanian Horde, and are they able to somehow communicate with the dragons? When they're not waging war, does Dravania have something resembling a structured society?
-
would it be possible, through the manipulation of internal aether, for a Black Mage to potentially enhance their physical attributes? i.e. become stronger through a time through infusing their limbs with aether.
-
Sylphie, from the Conjurer story line uses her own internal aether to heal others, this sounds closer to thaumaturgy than conjury. Is it therefore possible for a thaumaturge, at great risk to themselves, use their own internal aether to heal others?
-
How did you go about designing the lore to each of the different jobs
-
What do you look for when designing a job, and getting it to fit within the world that you have built?
-
The whole Ascian vs Archon plotline seems to be very heavily based upon FFXII lore. There were 12 Zodiac Braves, 12 Archons in the 6th Umbral Calamity, and we see 12 Ascians + Elidibus standing around Zodiark in the latest 2.3 Patch. So far the naming trend follows FFXII's "Scions of Light" with Lahabrea, Igeyorhm, Nabriales, and Pashtarot. Can we assume when the names of the other 8 Ascians are released that they will follow suit? Will we ever get to have a real fight against the Ascians?
-
Who are the twelve Zodiac Braves according to the FFXIV universe? We as a player base are getting very close to completing our Zodiac weapons, yet I feel like we know very little about who they were. What Astral/Umbral Era did they exist in? Did they defeat the Ascians or even Zodiark in some forgotten time? Why are their weapons so special?
-
What is the Lore behind Chirada and Suparna? Obviously they are aspects of Garuda but how is it she can manifest these lesser aspects and what Ixali lore is there to expand upon them?
-
In 1.0 during the Lambs of Dalamud story line we got to see the Sil'dih Aquaducts for a breef moment but they've since been unaccessable. Will we get to see them and other parts of Sil'dih and why are the ruins discovered in Central Thanalan so close to the Gates of Ul'dah?
