It varies a lot for me. I have six YouTube playlists I alternate through often. All varieties of music, some anime themes, some soundtrack. Sometimes I'll do the movie thing. Just finished watching Psycho-Pass this week while playing. And Daughters of Mnemosyne. Watched several episodes of JLU too recently. sometimes I'll listen to the in game music while playing, usually when fishing or it's important too do so, or cutscenes. Sometimes I'll just take the headphones off.

Some pieces from the FE:A soundtrack work wonderfully in certain dungeons.

Stone vigil hard is always run to Chaos ablaze for me. It just suits it far better.

It depends. If I'm running coil, I usually disable the game music. Hearing that same piece of music for ages gets quite annoying.
Usually in-world though I keep the game music enabled. Some of the pieces are absolutely breathtaking.

I put the track "Game Over", from the game "The World Ends With You" when I start collecting shards or a lot of materials.

no because Eorzea is nearly completely void of music. Left listening to crickets most of the time.

(All jokes aside since i'm doing all 9 Zodiacs i do turn on some music while i farm atma... sometimes.)

Today I was listening to Ariana Grande while lvling my DRG... ╮(─▽─)╭

While in dungeons/raids, I tend to play some metal to get me pumped as I tank :) , like Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, etc.
Otherwise, if I'm healing, or doing anything else in game, I tend to listen to the in-game music.
Oh, and the exception of Pharos Sirius. I can never get enough of that music :D

I like the in game music except when fishing in Costa Del Sol, can't handle too much bongo music lol. Otherwise I'll put on a channel from somafm.com free internet radio, no ads and over a dozen styles to choose from you can play in windows media player, no noticeable lag caused to game either. Space Station and Deep Space One are my favs but theres all kinds. : )

Depends on what I'm doing, if it's grinding, or crafting, or gathering, I usually listen to audiobooks or watch whatever TV series I'm currently in the middle of off of Amazon (Dexter currently ;3 ). Running stuff with my FC, I'm usually listening to the in-game music so I don't miss any chat that may, or may not be important/amusing/etc. I usually wholeheartedly despise any form of voice chat because I don't want to have to pay attention to people talking when I'm either listening to a book, or watching something on TV, amongst other reasons. CT/ST I always listen to the ingame music because of the nostalgia factor.

I always listen to music while playing except when the music is exceptional and I will turn it off and listen (Coerthas 1.0, Pharos Sirius, Uldah Nightime music) I love music, so I listen to music that I personally enjoy also if it is fitting for a certain dungeon /raid. Its usually done to enhance the experience or gloss over some of the grinder parts of the game. (ATMA / Crafting)
