I got 10 black, 6 silver 6 white - and since, as he said, they are not affected by any loot-table nor affecting other loot-tables in any way: i would have gotten plenty - but hey, all good for those that weren't sick at home and didn't blow their resources they planned to have for 2.4

Anyone know the cheapest/fastest way to get GC Seals? I'm totally out of both them and ventures, and I've only found six white so far (looking for Silver) x_x

You can equip your retainers with myth belts and accessories though, and that gets you a lot of the way to i80. Some other suggestions: If you don't have a spare primal weapon, you can give your retainer a Giantsgall weapon for pretty cheap. For left-side armor, if your retainer hasn't brought you back i70+ items, there are still a few options. i90 crafted should be pretty cheap at this point, but if it isn't, you can use GC elites if you bought them for glamours, or ST items if you got them for glamours. You can also farm T1 and T2, both of which should be pretty easy by now (especially T2) for Allagan gear, or the new Extreme dungeons for the i80 gear they can drop.

My DoW retainer is currently sporting Myth right side and belt, ST chest and legs (I upgraded mine to Sold gear), crafted primal sword (made for glamouring), Allagan head, and Warwolf feet and shield (from ventures). My wife just used random stuff she had lying around for her DoM retainer, which got her to i76. I made her a pair of Gold Spectacles (cost me like, 15k), and that got her to i81. So, you should be able to get up there without TOO much difficulty...

I get it. You want to corner the market in this and you're being denied the chance. I feel your pain, knowing that other players who, without even trying are being rewarded with a princely number of metallic gold dyes. I mean...FOUR DYES?! Scandal! That's almost enough to dye an entire outfit a garish gold color.

OR you can look at it the sane way and realize that you ended up with black, silver, and white in their stead (as when a dye came up on the loot table, it's not like you were denied it, you just got a different color). These are going to be the colors that most people are going to want, so why complain about it? If you wanted these for yourself, you're getting them in your moogle mail.

This is slightly off topic, but does anyone know if we'll be able to get these colors on our chocobo? I would seriously love a jet black one. :D

Cause I got like freakin 8 pots of pure white (uggh -_-) & I decided to dye my alc coat & two pieces of furniture in my personal room.
So while I understand you're bummed about the ventures & what not I think we can dye furniture.

I definitely appreciate the team providing everyone some pots of these gold dyes. It's very nice of them.

I must say though, I find the gold dye rather ugly. It seems to be more of a brassy bronze than gold.

I think giving everybody 50 ventures instead would have been better. Plastering the entire server in gold this way detracts from the appeal of unique dyes; players who put a lot of effort into getting them wanted to stand out.

While I don't want to see everything gold, the randomness of getting the dyes sort of eats away at the 'effort' required. Yeah, you can brute force your way to the dyes more or less, or you could get them without actually trying. I personally was unaware that they'd been implemented, though I've only done about 20 quick ventures over the past week.

Who cares if everyone gets them at the same time? No one person puts in more effort than the next when it comes to doing ventures. There's zero skill involved and most of the time spent with ventures is clicking "Quick Exploration" each hour. I'd see if this content were gated behind hard to defeat bosses or a challenging mini-game then I'd be inclined to agree. Unfortunately, the only challenge about ventures are how much RNGesus loves you at the time. Rejoice in the fact that we won't have to deal with the random that is loot acquisition for once.

You can use the black and white on housing items, unfortunately though you cannot use the silver, or (I'm presuming) the gold :( oh well, can't win em all!

I'm guessing all the people mad about this are the people who wanted to rip other people off by charging them obscene amounts of gil to dye garments for them.

Hey, at least for those who were trying to get the gold dyes, got other rare dyes as well. I've been running ventures with my i82 Arcanist and received squat amount of dyes. Maybe my retainer thought that ANCHOVIES and GOBIES are the dyes.

With that aside, I really appreciate the compensation from Yoshi-P. It's quite generous of him, coming from one with no rare dyes at all.

Actually some have put in more effort. I know some that can't be bothered to even level their retainers yet they will be getting the dye. While I understand they may not be able to figure out who has and has not leveled their retainers to 50 and geared them up, I do think I put in more effort than a person who did not even bother level and gear their retainers.

You are the best !! Keep it up !! This is by far the best MMORPG and dev team I have ever had the pleasure of being around !!

I think what I find most shocking about this, is after playing FFXI for a good 9 years and FFXIV since its original launch in 2010, I dont recall them ever sending compensation for a programming error (or for any other reason for that matter, and I don't consider human error one of them where someone lost their account to being hacked). My memory may be a bit off over the past decade but I'm pretty sure SE has never done this before, so its actually extremely welcomed. However its sad to find out you cant dye furnishings Metallic Silver, was hoping to dye a few pieces in and around my house with it to see if the color schemes would match better.

Why are you giving players that may not even have retainers, nevermind fully leveled and geared retainers free loot? You just singlehandedly destroyed the entire rarity of Gold Dye for all the crafters in the game, Thanks for nothing. So much for selling anything dyed gold...

It;s only 4 pots. And as for why I assume it;s because they have no way of

A) knowing who has retainers
B) How many of those retainers are geared (I being one who hasen;t gotten them at 50 yet)
and C) of those retainers how many are sent on Quick explorations.

Also the 4 pots are only got for one set and odds are that some might want more than 4 pieces dyed, there's also free trial accounts

Ok i hve 4 retainers about 100 ventures a day 500 ventures and you give 4 pots of dye not to mention that will make it worthless on the market give everyone 500 ventures

I bet you didn't even know beforehand Metallic Gold was bugged. You don't need any more compensation than you're getting. Also getting 100 ventures is as easy as going out and killing a handful of A ranks and the occasional S rank. I'm sorry you find clicking "Quick Exploration" every hour such an arduous task, I'm so sorry.
