Balmung Server (maybe XIV) First: Rank 20 Chocobo?

My word lol. That's impressive, and you've had some support to get 10 onions! I still only have 6 bags of seeds lmao (got FC house soonish after the patch). Can't wait to get mine rank 20, but with Destiny and onion sharing with my FC gonna be a loooong time coming lol xD nice to see you got all the barding too ^^

It's also worth noting that specifically to the Thavnairian Onions, the cross chances are significantly lower even when using Grade 3 Than soil. There is still a bit of luck involved, sure....but I have been growing endless glazenuts for months now. My glazenut patches would always produce either 5,6 or 7 bunches of seeds from 8 plots. 6 was the norm. 5 was exceedingly rare, I think it may have happened once.

I'm on my 2nd plot of Thav Onions now. The first full patch had all 7 possible beds the ability to proc seeds for onions and I only got 2 onion seeds. (I use curiel roots/glazenuts) My 2nd full patch is half done. The curiel roots are finished but the glazenuts aren't. I harvested the 4 patches of curiel roots, of which only 3 of them were able to produce seeds, and I got 2 onion seeds. So I still have 4 chances for more, but I won't count on seeing more than 1 more seed unless I'm very lucky. Coupled with the longest growth time attributed to any plant in the game, these onions are worth what they are being sold for on the MB. These are very time-extensive.

For those that are wondering why i say "7 possible" when there is 8 beds in a patch, I have been gardening for about 5 months now and I have never seen the first plant produce a seed. I am positive that it isn't possible for the very first plant to produce a seed. And that is only when the plant rotation is done properly. If 8 beds are planted incorrectly its possible that more beds in a patch won't have the possibility for seeds either.

The cross is determined when you plant the seed. Therefore your first plant never has a nearby plant to cross with so it never produces a seed. The only way around this is to plant all 8 then remove your first plant and replant it. A bit of a waste tbh.

Second, maybe text isn't always best method to convey mood but I'm most certainly relaxed and hardly anything that would considered be agitated or upset. Last I checked having a conversation and voicing my inability to understand someones mind set was hardly an attack, or unrelaxed, or any other such words with negative connotations. Yea intercrossing is decided upon planting, and since plant 1 is planted next to nothing else, it can't cross breed. But its worth noting if you start with the cheapest plant and have extra, when you plant all 8, you can uproot plant 1, and plant another seed there, giving you all 8 chances again.

I was trying to be lighthearted. You failing to grasp the concept of real life trumping a player's need/requirement to read patch notes is beyond laughable. You obviously see patch notes as something beneficial to you and I and many other players like myself see patch notes as a nice added bonus; there if we choose to read them yet to my delight the game is completely playable without me reading them. Yay! Now that's not to say that I don't read them...because I've been known to do that on occasion :p but again as I stated they simply aren't mandatory and your stance would suggest your lack of comprehension to wanting to enjoy a game as a damn game and not be forced to research translated cliff notes before logging in.

TLDR

Yep I'm gonna say that people who play FFXIV ARR are generally friendly and don't behave like you.

As I originally pointed out many players are avid readers of patch notes, some haven't read any and then there are those who read if they have the time or desire to.

1) Every server is full of people from "all walks of life", and thus shouldnt even bear mention in reference to Balmung (just like you dont mention that the sky is blue)
2) Im not even sure how something can be "unofficial official", but you know how they say that only 10% (or something like that) of players go on forums? Well, do you think the other 90 even KNOW about Balmung being RP server? Cuz a random person just starting the game sure wouldnt unless they specifically research which server is the RP one.

To argue that people should read patch notes and to then be so melodramatic as to sigh when asked for info is silly.... Tiggy suggesting people read the patch notes would be the exact same as a new player looking up Balmung's status as the unofficial official RP server.

The point is one person sees researching patch notes or any game related info as necessary and/or beneficial and someone else might see it as pointless, time consuming or unnecessary. It's called perspective. I could be a smart arse and type the definition for ya but I'm sure you have basic comprehension. To each there own.

Ok, so I have a hypothetical question. Ok, let's say I raise a defender, hit 10, get the pally barding. You said you have the SP to max the second tree at 16 right? Well let's say you dropped everything in tank at 10, got the tank barding. Then you get to 16 and drop everything into healer. Do you get your second WHM barding there or do you have to wait until 20 and get both then?

i believe you get the armor the moment you unlock all skills within a tree. an easier way to get all 3 would just level him to 10 and use peppers from allied seals to max each tree.

This is not true at all, whichever tree you get to 10 first you get the barding for. Resetting the trees to get another one to 10 does not give you a barding.

I think you have to hit rank 11 before you can reset and get other bardings.

This is true. I did google searches and came up with multiple results where people stated they wasted lots of GC seals and didn't get the other 2 bardings. One example is over here n reddit:

It might drop in 2.38, since it drops any time now. You may have just been ahead of their timetable lol. Hopeful the 4th special barding is Paragon's Barding to match that sexy coat.

Full parties if you can. Either Urth's gift by the water sprites, or where DD is the most effective. If you can get a full party to do it with you, you can do 3 quint-pulls where Dark Devices spawns, making each mob worth about 360-400 xp per kill.

lazy way: leave it in your FC stable and hope your FC members feed it a lot and feed it on your own

active way: take it with you when you do beast tribe quests, FATES or spiritbonding. The strongholds are a nice place to level, Urth's gift in South Shroud Water Exegons is a good way for both spiritbindong and Choccobo levelling. Also the Agenda is nice for levelling. Defeat 100 enemies at your level with your Choccobo grants lots of EXP.

I do actually have one question. I finally hit rank 10 last night and fed my choco a thav onion in order to start working on rank 11. Can I just feed it more thav onions to keep increasing the cap or do I have to wait until I'm actually on the highest rank I can be to feed it one more?

For instance: I am rank 10 with xp into 11. Can I feed it it 9 thav onions right now just to get that part of it out of the way and be maxed at a cap of 20? Or do I have to wait until I'm actually rank 11 to break into the rank 12 barrier?

At rank 19 what percentage of your chocobo's exp did training at a good condition stable give you? I saw at 10 it's no longer 1%. Does this decrease per level?

I don't believe after ten its a percentage anymore. I seem to recall it being around 18k at 11, and it was around 18k at 19 as well.

Playing a year and my chic is still rank 9. This thing feeds upon your soul to raise. Leveling the chocobo is pretty hardcore for me.
