They are not necessarily phased out. You HAVE to offer variety, but that doesn't mean they won't or can't make a return in the future.
I want to finish my 1.0 onion set, I only ever got the body piece.
could we just work on making the game bigger more areas to explore quests to do. leveling up just on fates and the same old dungeons is pretty boring and you can easily burn 100 allowances in one day on one class and not get very far. I'd like to hold off on all the extra glamours and leave 1.0 items on characters already holding them.
Sounds alright to me actually. As a player who may be considering dropping my sub I'd be looking at the next seasonal event and thinking "Well if I drop my sub now, I'll never get a chance at this again" as opposed to the player who thinks "Meh, I'll drop till the next major patch, I can always pick this up later"
I derive no extra pleasure from owning a thing simply because other people cant, I see no value in exclusion. I fully support this.
This thread is lacking Star Spangled subligars.

Your welcome.
That would be so cute! Imagine fishing while wearing these again :))
nice I hope it happens. :) I remember the Beta and it was fun.
Just want to point out that 2.3 million people that have played a game doesn't mean active subscribers. Since the game has started 2.3 million have made an account. For a really good Pay to Play MMO retention rate is usually around like 30%. So I wouldn't expect this game has anymore than 800-900k people at the moment.
I don't believe ALL of the items from 1.0 should come back. The effort put in to obtain the Dalamud Horn and White Ravens should never be invalidated.
With that said, small items like the SSS and the Chocobo Mask are reasonable things to bring back. Provided they take equal effort to obtain.
I agree, there are certain things that while we may REALLY WANT THEM (*looks at the Cait Sith Doll with envy*) they were available for one particular reason, and that is over and done. Now other items I don't really see why they're no longer available, and I don't see why some Achievements and titles aren't available either... And yes there have been events that have been reiterated often (like the Lightning event has been around 3 times I understand, once before I started, once when I started and just now) and some seasonal events I even expect not to be every year, but every two years (like in FFXI, they generally rotated seasonal events IIRC) so variety is good, don't play out what you make available, but some things there is no reason to never bring back.
What about the Hermes Sandals? I was hoping those would appear for regular players I bought the regular game got those for legacy character but I don't use legacy characters.
I use ARR character probably never legacy.
Hermes Sandals if not what a waste of shoes lol
See i played 1.0 but due to work and being deployed abroad because of the nature of my job i never had the chance to obtain this. I myself would like to at least have a chance to obtain it. Hell, even if they introduce something similar i would be happy. I do understand where you are coming from though.
Maybe those Twelve Rings? Like the Ring of Halone here?

Kinda off-topicish but does anyone else feel a bit embarrassed/awkward while wearing a subligar? Even on low level alts I end up glamouring it away.
Seconded on the dated! It'd be even better if we could dye it, but I know that's unlikely...
They weren't actually even available in the latter half of Version 1. First the required items were no longer dropped (you needed taupe dye for example to craft some of the pieces, and they stopped that dropping) then the recipes themselves were phased out.
You had to have kept your dated item from fairly early on in Version 1 to still have it now, that's why they're rare even amongst legacy players.
Thank you Square Enix for delivering!
To anyone who still checks this thread, the Star Spangled Subligar is now obtainable in the 2.5, it's one of the quest rewards of the Moggle Delivery quest (Courier level 19 or 20). Thank you again SE, and thanks Wobble for telling me about it.
