Are you still on your free trail? If you are you wont get the exp boosting head gear until your first 30 purchase of game time and the person who's code you used wont get the mount until you have reached 90 days of purchased game time "not including the 30 days you get free with the purchase of the game itself"
You can get around the wait if you buy game time cards to instantly add game time. Otherwise it sounds like you put the code in the right spot, I cant check because I already bought time so I cant redeem anyone's code myself.

I'm so aggravated. I recruited a friend to the game who paid for a 90 day subscription so we could get all the rewards. We didn't receive the items yet and come to find out it's because of the 30 day free play. The only other option I found out was that he would need to purchase the time cards for instant rewards, however there is only time cards for 60 days that I saw.

What good are the rewards if you can't use them when they are first starting the character? Was this not thought through by SE or am I missing something? What can I do? Please advise.

I am on the Brynhildr server, love to RP and am a member of the Helping Hands LS for helping new players through the game. I don't have many RL friends to invite that aren't already playing, so you can join with me and I can help you out, or you can go alone and forever be anonymous and get the headgear benefit.
