Miqo'te's Nose

The development team designed Miqo’te as an entirely different race than FFXI’s Mithra, and with that said there are no plans to change the face of Miqo’te.

Are there any plans to introduce more faces, body types, hairstyles? Or alternatively, combine all male/female customization options together to bring more uniqueness to the world? Even without the Lightning hairstyle, my character looks like everyone else.

Who cares about noses? Give us our butts back!

Only if roegadyns can have tails.

After all the suggestions you've caved to, but giving Miqo'te an option for a more cat like nose is where you put your foot down? lol? They are everything Mithra are except for the nose. I don't know how you can play the race card when body part for body part they are the same as a Mithra except for the nose. It's the nose that separates them from being oversized cat people. Seriously?

You sure? The first pic looks like a short Elezen with a tail. The torso comes straight down from the shoulders then bows out at the hips. In the second there's actually a waist there. You don't want to look like a pear do you?

I still want them to add a muscle slider for Miqo'te.

It is an injustice that we don't get one, the one race besides Roegadyn and Highlander where it makes complete logical sense! Even Midlanders get one, and have you seen those pansies!? The only thing that could have made it worse would be if they gave Lalafell one instead (not to say that I don't want Lalafell to have one, but they're last on my list for such things).

I was really looking forward to being a well-muscled catgirl, but instead all I got was generically athletic-skinny catgirl. How irritating!

Well in all honesty, no one really said they wanted to change the entire face of the Miqo'te. They just want the option to have the cat-like nose along with the ones' that are currently available.

I seem to recall back during ARR beta, Yoshi P seemed very open and interested in ideas coming from the players. Now it's almost like our ideas and desires don't even matter.

This, I love this I would fantasia now to look like this. They even run like I wish my miqo'te did.

I would love to look like any big cat, especially a tiger. I want to look fierce not cutesy.

Miqo'te are nothing more than fair-faced, Japanese schoolgirls, with cat ears and a tail. Mithra in FFXI actually looked like cat-people.

But hey, SE obviously hit the nail on the head with the Miqo'te design.

A lot of things don't make sense in this game.

AFAIK: The Moon Miqote are more of the Wolve/Dog...race...thus baring canine teeth...I suppose, no slit eyes because they're use to
night times...
The Sun Miqote have slit eyes for a more catty look? But no fangs.

What would make more sense is, for both to have fangs AND slit eyes...and at day time, their iris's slit, but at
night they should have larger ones like the moon Miqote's.
I am all in for add-ons...how hard is it to add a dark nose to the game lol.

I believe this was an artistic choice as the moons are predominantly out during the night. I think I read that suns originally had fangs but this was changed. The eye thing is definitely lore based/trait.. I'd imagine so are the fangs moons house.

It would be okay to add as an option but at this point it would be a bad idea to replace all the current ones. However I hope any additional animal humanoid races will look a bit more bestial/animal like instead of being a human with very small differences. Not sure if that is likely with this fanbase though.

If I remember correctly, since it was a long time ago and all, this is how it was in 1.0. They all had fangs (I remember having fangs lol) and you could choose between slit or normal eyes regardless of clan. I could just be losing my mind and remembering everything all wrong though XD

I only chose a Mi'qote in 1.0 because I couldn't stand the way Hyur females ran and I did't want to play as a giant Elezen. As much as I like Lalafells they're a little too small so the Mi'qote was a "close enough" kind of thing lol. When 2.0 rolled around I was already used to my character and didn't feel like changing races.

I'm all for adding more cat-like features as an option for those that want them. I just personally like the more human look the Mi'qote have. I've always thought FFXI's Mithra were kind of ugly lol

The miqo'te are very different to mithra, they look similar yes but it goes far beyond that. The lore for one thing, which I sorta like to think ties into the reason for the noses.

I don't think an option for it would make sense at all. I'm not saying I'm against it but, biologically, how weird would it be for people of the same race for some to have a human nose while their sibling might have a cat nose.

Look at how the miqo'te (seekers) live and act. They're quite often portrayed as being attractive to all races, so even though they're different, they need those similar features. If they had cat noses and furry paws they probably wouldn't be seen as attractive to all the other races.

I do totally support a facepaint option though, it makes sense :)

I think your assessment is perfect. Imho, I had a really hard time deciding between miqote and hyur. I really like the "style" of Hyur. The faces of miqote actually kind of bother me. Too pointy and "animesque."

Need a hyur/miqote fusion!

Having more options is always a great idea. I don't like the more cat like nose, but if other people do then i am all for it.

One thing I would like to voice my opinion about is the Male Miqo'te hands. Has anyone ever noticed our hands while just standing have all the fingers bent and in a weird way. It almost like as if we have locked joints or something and cant stretch our fingers correctly. Not sure why the males are like this and the females are not but yeah, just my opinion.

These are completely different races.

Plus to me I think cat race here in FFXIV is human cat like people.

if they were 100% cat people, I think they would be on all 4's licking their paws and being kicked by the cast of monty python lol

I don't think they were fat and lazy, more like lion prides. The females do all the hunting and fighting, the males stay behind, also because there was so few of them, the females aren't going to send them off to die.

A mmo called bless it looks pretty good I was looking at it a few months ago.

Just remember that the design team is predominantly Japanese. Japan has a different sense of aesthetics than other countries do. For all we know the change from Mithra to Miqo'te was a group of designers looking at the mithra and saying "OK, we should change this because at high definitions, it makes them look unattractive."
To those designers, even asking for the option for the old mithra nose might be like asking for the option for cleft lips.
Probably why the community rep gave the canned answer.

Im not against more options , but if they would change the way of how my Miqo'te looks now , i think i would quit^^

Miqo’te races looks perfect the way it is but having more options to pick from the better I say. I came cross a lot of users who had the same face like my character all most with different hairstyle plus color as well.

I love the way my character looks and don't plan on charging her looks. :) I like to make her look bit more stronger without any change to her main face like increase her body muscle bit.
