Well, first I'd change it so classes level to 30 and then you get a job stone that you level another 20 levels seperately. It would allow much more flexibility with the job system as only the 1st 30 levels of abilities would be shared.
Gladiator into Dark Knight DPS.
Focus on casting DoTs on self that build up damage bonuses the longer they're on. The Gladiators damage reduction cooldowns could help mitigate the ever decreasing health for a time before the (de)buffs have to be removed. Gladiators/Dark Knights would get access to two-handed swords (not unlike how THM has one handed and two handed options) that sacrifice the ability to use the shield moves in exchange for higher damage.
Musketeer into Chemist Healer.
TP based heals with usually generic heal stuff and various abilities that can be combined (kind of like what I assume mudras will be like) for buffs/heals/mitigation/stuff.
Musketeer into Gun/Blue Mage DPS.
Can use magic bullets to copy creature abilities to be used at a later date (cannot be stored up and taken into instances.) I'm imagining an interface not unlike the pet interface with maybe 5 slots that fills up as you use 'Blue bullet' ability.
Possibly give it a slightly altered diffusion as well for some support use, cast it on a party member and the next beneficial ability used on them is copied to nearby party members. Basically a bit of a thematic focus on copying in general rather than gathering up creature abilities to help it fit into FFXIV.
Rogue into Thief job.

Hoplite as job, born from Gladiator 30 + Lancer 15, a mid-range tank with lance and shield.
Paravir as class, then the job should be Samurai.
Blm 30 + whm 15 should unlock Red Mage.
A Marauder DD job.
Swordsman (class) 30 + Thaumaturge 15 should unlock the Dark Knight job.
