You CAN glamor it with the valor set, i don't know why you are saying you can't.
The valor chest will just not appear when the armor is worn by a gld/mrd/war

With how 2.0+ armor is flashy and high fantasy-ish, I don't see why not give the ladies fancy curvy armor. In a world where Allagan/ST/AF2/High A/Sol. armor is becoming the norm, most of 1.0's practical armor looks out of place.
I know the first thing I did with the Noct set was glamour over it.. I first saw it on a roe and a highlander I think and I was honestly more then excited to get the set. Got the chest and I was like oh well.. maybe with the other parts it looks better. All for practical armor.. to be honest I'd rather it be practical but I do understand this is a game (main draw to LOTRO was that the armor looked functional). I think it's mainly the 6-pack that throws me off and that my character isn't bulky in the least and all the way till this armor everything else is more or less form fitting or adds a layer or two.
I love the warrior af armor to be honest with it. If they would adjust the chest to be proper it'd be perfect. It's not light armor and its not too over the top either in design. Granted it wouldn't help the Pld's out for their glamours. =/
This video hits it on the head pretty "Squarely"..... ;)

SE is into excess... and excess of excess is only better and so on and so on.......
It's a shame, because not every SE artist is like that. Bravely Default managed to have a very fantasy enriched art style without being overly excessive, and we have Yoshida's vision to thank for that. I wish he'd come back. I think this game could benefit from his fairy tale style.
Noct lorica is modeled after http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscle_cuirass: a Classical, idealized representation of the (male) human body. You're not a Greek hero until you let it all hang out.
That's not to say female bodies can't have idealized representations--just not in not in a T-for-teen MMO.
edit: whoops, url tagged wrong.
I don't really see any issues with the Lorica, if it isn't for you then move on. I believe they need to have a nice mix of all types of armor. Practical, showy, realistic, skimpy. But asking to change one piece of armor because it doesn't show you have some tits under there is a bit outlandish. I still to this moment have all my gear glamoured to look like Valor, because at the moment its my preference. Some ladies might prefer how the Lorica looks and I can appreciate that, a piece of armor that doesn't sexualize female characters at all. That's good. It's options for ladies that don't want to walk around in plate mail that shows off their thighs and has their cleavage hanging out.
SE should keep doing what they do and make a mix of visually appealing armor for as many tastes as possible, no matter how immersion breaking it is.
Just glamour it with the Hullbreaker body... that chestpiece is just so much cooler looking in general.
Right, and if we can use that to make our armor look like swimsuits, why is there no armor like the OP is asking for to glamour with?
I don't like using armor myself in my glamours (I like to imagine rather than just deflecting the blows, my character is just very mobile and dodges a lot), but it would be nice to have that option for people that want it to have plate armor more in the shape of a female body. Realistic? No, but there's not a lot that's realistic in this game. I actually like that the designs were more practical in 14 than games like Tera, wear less armor seems to = more def, and every female character is wearing stilettos, but still, options for those who want the armored look without having to go to something like coliseum gear or the harnesses that are, well, kinda skimpy
Eh ... that article didnt really prove anything. Not saying its wrong but simply saying that it wont work because 'I say its science' doesnt really show anything. Regardless its a game, I doubt any of the armor in this game would pass medieval safety inspection unless its for some ceremony or something. The armor the OP wrote about probably wont "deflect blows" very well either yet its still sculpted as a male chest. All OP would like is to not look like a guy.
Soo glad I play a Lalafell. No breasts to worry about when it comes to choosing decent armor!
Valor is one option, which isnt that feminine (I know OP likes it though) which you can only wear as paladin. Not Warrior, not dragoon, not any future plate wearing class.
Why not some other designs, like some of Ragnarok Online's art?

...Actually I was going to link more but I guess I remembered them being less skimpy than they actually were though, lol. You get the idea though, ignore that its showing so much skin but the general shape of the armor.
Note: This is an EXAMPLE off the top of my head. I dont actually want those RO designs in the game, something a little more serious than that, but less bulky and masculine that what we have already. I think the armor we have in game is fine and shouldnt be changed, but more options for those that want it would be nice
doesnt need to be super boob plate, but it would be nice for it to be less manly on females
I actually removed it from my initial post :). I don't mind the current method of glamours being essentially useless for real use because they're terrible armor, but they make a nice option to make patterns for our illusion magic to work with.
Anyway, here is my character looking amazing as a tank :p

I actually like that armor. There's plenty of feminine options out there for glamours. But sometimes we don't want to look girly or cute but actually look like a 'Tank' when tanking. Changing it would take away that option. And I don't think it would be fair, especially since the girly, cute, and feminine options far outweigh the other options.
you were probably referring to the crusader set

Agreed. Their are all ready plenty of armors to show off the female body at varying . . . levels? Their needs to be gear for ladies who want to look intimidating when they are tanking, feel less lady-like when a Gigas is trying to crush the hell out of them with a mace. Again there has to be a balance of armor, there are gonna be ladies or creepy nerds playing dress up to make their ideal waifu that want gear that is more skin than metal. There will be the middle ground where people want their armor to look protective but attractive, those who want to look badass, and those who want to look practical.
If anything we need to add more of a selection for practical and 'badass' armors.
you don't look intimidating, but totally ridicule, you look like a barrel... monster are focus on you because they can't stop to laughs!
i still remember a picture with two characters, both with the lorica and fullhead helmet, the most horrible it's... one was male and the other was female... impossible from the picture to know who was what...
Armor must protect, yes, but if the protection hinder the movement of the person it fail to protect it. women are generally more agile than men... then the armor must protect while letting her use her main advantage. be agile!
I just glamour the arm armor to cobalt gauntlets and cobalt sabatons (with no dye) and it makes the armor fit that much better. Try it!
I, like others in this thread, prefer each piece of gear to not be radically different between male and female wearers. By which I would mean I'd like as little difference as possible.
It's one of the things I liked most about this game. I groaned when they first introduced Coatees, when they gave DRG AF the 'stab me right where it's guaranteed to kill me' midriff and the WHM mini-skirt.
The more neutral, realistic (ish) gear design back then extended to the weapons too. No glowy lightsabers of death, no axes larger than a character's torso etc.
But it's all being replaced with more and more gender-dimorphic gear, more revealing mini-skirts, more sailor outfits and more big glowy axes of doom.
Come on SE, I thought you respected us more than that.
And there is armor like that if you want to look mobile. Warrior armor is loose fitting leather armor to absorb blows an give freedom of movement with metallic plates to deflect attacks. Valor is a loose fitting scale mail with plating to protect the shoulders and hands. Some people want to look like a walking fortress, it is still a game after all. Mechanically PLD's aren't relying on their ability to be agile and dodge to tank and survive they are depending on armor and mitigation. Why can there not be armor where you can't tell if its a male or female? Does it matter? Should the first thing you be looking for are tits on your tank?
I think something like this would be good.

Sexy, but not skeevy.
I've not been a fan of breastized armor and am glad the Lorica and the Heavy Allagan Armor exist. I would have said the Armor of Light, but I feel like a clown. A very heroic clown that wants to protect friends.
Ha, probably. I opened up the rune knight or whatever it was called, remembering that was really cool with the coat look, then realised what the female character was wearing beneath it. I guess my memories of RO armor is skewed since the little 2D sprites kind of left a lot to the imagination
i use the war attire from the 2.3 dungeon... you know we don't talk about have sexy armor... but normal armor that look adapted to women. here it's simply idiot, i'm sorry but that true, you can put almost 2 miqote into the breastplate. a point that seems to be missed a lot, the fact that this armor contract the breasts of the character, litteraly it's squeeze it to nothing. it's cool to look like a fortress... but i prefer my character to be able to breath.
about the fact that we need to be able to differentiate a male from a female it's mostly because, the two are different in the gesture and and movement, what will look nice on male will look idiot on female, another point too, the two sexe have different morphology... then the armor must be adapted to that morphology. here the lorica (like the guardian armor from ST) are simply male model put on the female character. i'm sorry, but it can't work, any armorer will say to you that the armor must be adapted to the body of the person that will wear it. we don't ask for see tits or any sexy part... but to have armor adapted to the female on the female... not get a lazy male model for the female.
ps: what i gonna say here it's extremely important:
it's not because we can glamour that they must be lazy and don't offer us the armor we deserve. it's not a valid escuse, i'm sorry, but the lorica and the guardian armor from ST are simply bad and ugly on women!
Wish they did have more revealing armor for males and females since not everyone was all wearing full body armor. As people all love to think.
