Want o know how to SP solo? No have time to seek party? 3k of sp bonus is not enough for you? Now want to play 24/7 for a month?

It seems that if you don't say the wonderful is the game right now you won't get friendly answers from the "wonderful" FFXIV community. Damn fanboys.

I was looking for some ways to level because I've cleared all the leves/missions at my rank range and when I saw this post some light appeared.

He was looking for an answer, just like lot of people do and (as he already said) most of your replies was useless or ofensive in a way of defend yourself or the game. WTF is with you people? Stop being rude or asshole and try to be more polite.

If you don't have nothing to say just shut up and skip this topic.

1. Speed is the most important thing now. You need to finish your leves in 5min or less.
I, too get ~4k every leve and i finish them in 2-4min. So it's like 4k every 5min and 30-35k in an hour.
I don't know how this is bad.
Do it on one or two starts.

2. Leve skill points will increase with rank. with rank 40-50 you want get 4.000skill points but 6.000+.
Every 5min.

3. Behest isn't half as bad as people say. Skill points aren't good, but behest takes only 3-5min too and you usually get 2.000 skill points

4. grind on mobs. pick mobs that are more than 5 ranks higher than you. There are a lot of options. Need to search a little bit and try stuff out.

5. Do quests. They grant you 2500+ skill points with rank 30. Need to spend much on anima though.

I ranked from 30 to 33 in 2 day without playing the whole day. That would be in fact less than one month to get to rank 50.

I don't know if it's normal but with LNC @ rank 20 I can't solo mobs of rank 5 or higher above mine. I tried setting defensive actions (such as Defender from MRD) and so but they destroy me.

The problem is I only have ~300 mp and can't rely on cure since the last patch.

What can I do in this case to solo grind?

I am so on the same page with this. I get the question, "How long do you think until you hit 50 in X class". Answer: "Who cares...I will get there when I get there." Some days I am going to charge a class and other days I am going to take it easy. I am normally a "gather everything and do everything person" but I don't let it bother me if I have to wait on something. If this game stresses anyone out they should consider why they are playing the game to begin with.

Fighting mobs on open field gave 450 sp each mob. Same with party. Storyline quests give up to 46000 sp. Behest depends on your rank but i got about 5k at r46. Leve quest mob ranks changed, but they give ok sp at the right difficulty. It's good balanced and I really dont want

You need the DD healing abilitys.
1. One of them is Second Wind. Rank 6 Pugilist.
It is very powerfull since 1.18 because it don't use stamina.
That's 200 free HP every 45 seconds.
2. The second skill would be Bloodbath. Rank 6 Marauder.
I would use it right before your weaponskill. With Attack boost you can heal for 300HP+.
Also a 45sec recast timer.
3. Also very usefull "Prime Condition". It is a Rank 30 Pugilist trait, which increases every healing effect on you by 10%, but you can buy and equip it with Rank 20.
Second Wind can heal you for 240HP than. Cure and Sacrifice are also more effective.
4. Shock Spikes are a HUGE help for solo stuff. Not because of the damage, but because of the stun effect.
5. Sacrifice is still useful. The MP costs aren't high and their healing effect is way batter that the effect of cure.
But The first 2 skills are sufficient to keep your HP up without any downtime.

thank you mate, I always though 45 secs are too long because I get hits of 200+ hps and my life with hp boost from food is @ ~1000Hp. Anyways I'll try it because I can always use sacrifice/cure when my CDs are down.

After reading each of your replies. It seems you want to rank up just as fast playing solo, as a grp of people tackling harder more rewarding content? Do you not see the disconnect? Are you able to play solo? YES! are you able to progress as fast solo? NO.
Thats the way it should be. END OF STORY!

Get a healer, a tank, and two DD's. Go to raptors and kobolds east of Camp Iron Lake in Limsa. You get 250-350 sp a kill and they don't take long to kill. You need to /shout in U'ldah for a group. You can't just expect people to waltz up to you. It took maybe 15 minutes to get a party that actually payed attention to the log. Oh, and the search feature is somewhat viable now.

Be patient, people are slowly starting to log back into this game. Plus if you want to solo for sp, well I'm sorry but this game is under a different man now. This is a MMO and this is the way it should have been going from the get go

It seems like maybe 1 or two people mentioned anything that could help you out. I was in my ls last night *yes I finally have one!*, and someone mentioned trying to go to beastmen camps that are around your level *I'm assuming what they mean around your level is going to an aethyrite that you would do leves at your level* then go to the beastmen camp to fight? I havn't tried this yet, but if you do, let me know how it turns out if you get to it before I do.

To everyone else that didn't post anything helpful...learn to the read. Az has done the missions and all the quests...s/he CAN'T LEVEL UP ON THOSE ANYMORE. And Az posted this from the get go.... /facepalmatpeoplenotbeinghelpfulbutpostonlytobeannoying

is the real problem now for lvl up for casual, shout for pt in uldah is not viable you could do it for hours

if you got a decent spec pc or 2 pc in your house get another account and learn to dual box, it it g=free still so make the most of it, all a lot of ppl do on these forums is stroke there epeens or piss and moan at other or the game, this is the internet thats how it is. seems now you do leves fast and low lvl get them done and out of the way, tbh i only chose the leves which give me marks and if poss try save them up for a day or 2 so its actually worth going to that camp, i feel sometimes its not worth the anima. grid solo on mobs midlessly or gather up 1 or a small party of maybe friends/random shouts for a sp grind, spamm the R25 dungon kill everthing in there.

as for camps and what where to go this info is hard to come by.. some people dont want to gve it up because they dont want to share and have every tom dick and harry infiltrate "Their" camp you can try search YG for mobs 5 or so above your lvl and look at where/how viable they are and how long u can spend there if its actually worth going ie in cortheas etc

#1 If you review the last producer letter http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...530#post259530 then you will notice that he makes specific mention that there is some concern about the rank 20-30 leves, and that they are reviewing it. But honestly, I'm sure you knew that, the tone of this post (and all of your post recently) are more to complain then inquire.

Soloing is painfully slow right now. I haven't had a chance to party yet so I can't compare, but I will say your numbers seem a little low. I was doing R30 leves on my 28CON last night at Humblehearth (Gridania) and with GF I was getting ~200 per mob + 1.8-2.5k at the end. I did them on 3 star and they took 10-15 minutes depending on whether or not, and how frequently I would die. Did you use GF? If so, and you're not exaggerating your numbers then perhaps try a different camp. Maybe the leves you were doing were bugged or something.

I'm at the pace of ranking up once per day, I do a mixture of things that Pulseczar mentioned.... The Big thing is grouping up to do them! To name a few... Behiests r30 5 stars with two other people give a moderate amount of sp, then I quest alot, visiting the different settlements and check for quests... Main cities usually have a good amount of quests these days....

It's a bit different and unclear how you could level... but it's much better then mindlessly doing leves ;)

They are working on the 20-30 levequest rewards for a pre 1.19 patch I believe.

Respect is a two-way street. I clearly stated alternatives to SP besides leves and was shot down for it. I may have not been specific, but I'm not going through and list the <pos> of every single location.

The OP knows exactly what they are up to. It's pretty evident if you watch their posting pattern.

I'm not sure if this still applies post 1.18, but I thought you could only really solo successfully to level 23 without the help of people and that they were probably going to increase this to 30, but the sp becomes increasingly difficult to get, not impossible but hard without people.

I find it sad that many people just attacked me personally and assumed this was a troll post. It wasn't..... in any way.

to those who metioned that my numbers were a bit low, i mentioned earlier i think that no, i was -not- using GF so thats probably why. I save that for my botanist leves. But thanks for letting me know how much sp you get with it ^^ sounds like it doubles your sp.

as for "legit exploits" i'm referring to failing leves (which really was kind of an exploit but devs said it was ok to do) and prior to that multi-shot on coblyns which essentially was levelling to rank 50 by killing everything in 1 or 2 shots (again kind of an exploit since you arent really fighting, just hitting a button and getting sp)

And thank you to the many people who helped. I found a lot of the info -really- helpful and I'm glad to see that there are still people in the community who will help instead of being cynical and trying to turn everything into an argument over the state of the game.

I've found that there isn't much of a bonus for doing leves on more than Solo level. From what I've seen its better to do them fast and easy and move on. I'm getting like 4-5k per leve even at solo dificulty. Then I just do some quests. Havent tried behest since 1.18 went live though

I'd personally like some more information on the beastmen encampments.

What makes them good - do they have a repop rate that makes them come back fast enough to farm? Would they be best fought solo or in a party? What levels are the beastmen at each one?

I went past a couple but now I'm out of anima and walking everywhere, so it would take a while to scout them all out myself.

I don't think that's the only reason. I was doing some rank 30 leves in Nanawa and only getting some 1.3k, while ones in Cedarwood were giving some 2.4k. I was using Favor for all of them, and if anything I spent more time on some of them that gave a larger bonus.

I obviously don't have enough data myself, but it would appear at first glance that location and/or leve type matters.

I've never heard of XIV being advertised as a solo game, only "casual friendly." Solo and casual are two different things. MOST of the game's content right now is very casual friendly, as advertised. Like XI, XIV seems to emphasize party play. I honestly think patch 1.18 didn't break soloing, but fixed it, as sp/exp was too high, and along with that, also fixed partying, by making it the better option. If partying isn't the better option no one will do it.
I'm sure sp and exp will continue to be monitored and some changes will be made, but I have a feeling sp/exp is closer to where it should be NOW than before 1.18.
I've been soloing most of the time, and I feel exp is fine as is. I have no reason to rush to max level.

Soloing, I don't think you will be able to find the kind of exp you're looking for, but if I figure out anything I'll post it.

Thats why crafting and gathering were main jobs and not support jobs originally and why all the missions can be done as a rank 1 job (by sneaking around, parley, etc). Then the following patches made partying pretty well inefficient. The coblyn system was pure solo. partying was essentially broken then. i think this patch was designed to emphasize party play but no one is partying.... which is disappointing.

Maybe on Wutai no one is partying. ON Selbina partying is on fire. Tons of shout groups going on for grind camps.

Ah.. I remember SE saying that now.. thanks for the correction. Perhaps the direction of the game is changing then. I'm unsure. :\ While I hope partying is still emphasized and the best way to go, I hope soloing remains a viable option for those who want it. Since some have said 20-30 is kind of messed up right now, perhaps you can look forward to a fix. The waiting may suck though, if you have to solo.

On Besaid I hear of many people partying. May differ by server. :(
I'm going to try Toto-Rak for sp tonight.

i didn't read the whole thread so im sorry if someone said this but the leves are still being work on not quite up to level they need to be up to atm leves have just been reworked to stop leve failing as a way to level they should be up to par by 1.19

Remember when we had the surveys? Most people were for the game to drastically change, this is probably one of the things that will change... And in my opinion... for the better!

Just keep looking, you'll find an awesome group of people to party up with!

Yeah. Partying is starting to pick up on my server. It's still slow, but it's getting there in response to the changes. You can't expect it to happen overnight. And it's pretty easy to form a party of 4 people for toto rak (or just a decent trio even, which can get you better skill points than by soloing). Give the game a few weeks/months, and a few more patches, and hopefully people will party even more. Maybe we'll even have a search people like to use.

As far as your situation, the thing "upsetting" some people I think is that it /is/ viable to level solo, and you're coming off as being upset that you're not xping as fast as someone in a party. I don't think anyone here doesn't want you to be able to solo, but most people here do want party xp to be rewarding. And if soloers go just as fast, no one will form parties. Which would let a good chunk of people down.

Healing tips have been mentioned. Second wind/blood bath/prime conditioning. I haven't seen anyone mention siphon mp or stygian spikes though. With all this up, my DD rarely runs out of mp/hp unless I'm trying something too far above my level. What to xp on can't really be fed to you since it will change every few levels. There's lots of great internet databases of ff14 mobs though. Find ones that are ~5 or 6 levels up and try that. Adjust as needed if they're too hard/easy.

Yes, it's slower xp for me when I solo too. But I'm still getting the xp. And as has been said, there really is no need to rush yourself to 50 in a game that's clearly in an unfinished state. By doing so you'll probably be missing out on the chance to play with future instances and stuff in a level appropriate manner. And that'll make you sad.

Did you not read where they felt the original direction and vision was a mistake for certain things? It's in the recent interviews. (connect on if i recall.)

So it doesn't matter what it was advertised as, no one was playing it while it was free is a big sign something needs to change and solo oriented MMOs are boring and over saturated the market.
