The entire point of 9 was to harken back to pre 7 Final Fantasies. Where the world was mostly classical with bits of technology here and there. The style is very much 17/18th century fairytale with a lot of influence from dark age alchemy sketchings and early renaissance flair.
That's the sort of Final Fantasy I grew up with, and the kind I appreciate the most. I like it because it's not dirty and gritty, but it's also not oversaturated and cheery. The perfect stylistic balance nestled lovingly in a bed of the romantic and classical.
I hope you give it another chance someday, it's really a beautiful experience.

SE keeps doing things that Moogle the pooch pretty well in my opinion, and if they keep adding new non-combat stuff but make it as rare/expensive as they have in the past, they're gonna lose a lot of the casual players and RP crowd I bet.

As for the OP, Aerith's outfit from FF7 would be my one pick. Simple, pretty.... and likely to cost more than a Large FC house the way SE is going with their "logic". :rolleyes:

I really like Yuna's design. The kimono looks really nice and I also appreciate the boots. That, y'know she has to look fancy for the people, but she is on the road. It's really the kind of thing where you'd expect some higher up to make them change it to sandals or something.

^This. Although I think her FF Tactics cameo outfit would probably fit into Eorzea's setting better. But if I could just get her FFVII outfit I'll be a happy kitty. :3

Other FF characters I'd love to have their outfits as vanity gear would be probably Rosa's outfit from FFIV, Celes's opera gown from FFVI and Garnet's princess dress from FFIX (loves big poofy ballgowns :3).

We had belts before the Calamity (in version 1.0). SE removed them as they were causing too many clipping issues and also restricted the creativity and freedom of equipment design. Mostly I don't mind, but I miss seeing them shown on tabard-type equipment though - tabards just look so loose and empty now without a belt tied around it. But ah well.
