Probably to give a bit of leeway in the event that people end up exceeding the 50k cap by a lot without realizing it.

Heck just a few hours going for your atma weapons if your unlucky you have your seals.
How does it work with the bardings? When you have all points in one category, how do you get the barding? Talking to the guy at the Gridania Waterfalls? Or does it magically appear in your inventory?
its just a seal sink thats all.
I'm split on what I want to respec him as, on one hand I want him as a healer, on the other, the tank barding seems to be the rarest, and the WHM barding the most common. So the question is... do I:
A. want a fancy Chocobo
B. want a useful Chocobo
C. want to farm another 48k seals to respec him again?
and in keeping with the meme theme... /firstworldproblems
The sorrow of my plight is that I only seek to regain ONE skill point. I will pay 48,000 seals to change this one skill point, though, because darn it, I "need" it. But it nevertheless makes me flail with all the dramatis of a classic greek play!
:p
It's a lot seals but hopefully you just use it once...UNLESS you respec again to get all the bardings?!? I think you keep the bardings after you obtain them. I heard they are raising the level cap for chocobos but it might be faster to respec to collect all three bardings.
they confirmed if you respec you don't get to keep the barding, if you have the healer barding and respec to defender you lose the healer barding and get the defender barding. but since you can rank to 20 now you don't have to respec unless you absolutely want to
A. Barding will do that for you
B. By the time you get it to rank 20 it will be damn useful
C. You can get all 3 Bardings by just ranking it to lvl 20 as there will be plenty of point if the trend of points awarded = level continues - this addresses both A and B - you don't even need to respec really.
Yup, there is no need to rush. Just do the 48.000 when you have the time. I will buy the reset item once because I want to put all points in the healing tree, not only because of the awesome looking WHM barding. A healer is more worth than a sub par DD choccobo. And I agree, the barding will remain in your inventory. So reset it once to get the first barding, then over time raise it to Level 20 to get the other 2 bardings. That's the plan for me, I will see it it works this way lol. But let's be honest, you do not need a perfectly skilled Choccobo. You will survive with it no matter what you put your points in because of the open World that is how it is (not dangerous). So it is more a question of Style than anything else.
