I've had a whole page in my inv full of bait and lures since launch so a tackle box would be welcome.
I'd love a dev response to this. You know you see us devs! If you ignore us we'll just riot even more lol
Seriously, everyone that wants this needs to spread the word to LS mates, FC mates, other FFXIV related forums, and etc. Get people liking the OP comment and posting. Hopefully we can finally get our community reps attention directed to this long-asked request and get a response on it.
when I click on "Like", it went to forum front page. lol
anyways...

edit:
fixed by refreshing page. lol
My condition is whoever tried the hardest to NOT be a pooper.
I think you might have meant to post on this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ons-to-Commend
Now back on subject,

Two, Four, Six, Eight! Tackle box to hold our bait!
Two, Four, Six, Eight! Tackle box to hold our bait!
I'm going to throw my vote in on this, I have always shaken my head at that empty secondary spot, I have always also thought it would be nice to have a boat to fish from off coasts, however with server backache stress, that probably isn't feasible.
5 pages of comments and not a single person against the idea????
This must be the greatest suggestion in the history of ever.
I stopped caring about fishing, but this is actually a great idea. OP gets +1 Like.
I think the devs said something about how if they did this then they would have to create expanded inventory for all players not just fishers.
Strange i know, but... they are riding that "being fair" line really hard so far in this game (what i mean is for example how they dont want to add smn egis until other jobs get abilities as well so to keep it even and fair).
Very much so. You can fill up a tab with the tools for one day's fishing, not even counting the fish themselves which are likely to fill a whole other tab.
At least with other gathering classes, you only have 2 tools and you can focus your gathering efforts far more accurately.
Even if I'm just going to one fishing spot to grab my daily map, I'm lucky that I only need one type of lure then but the fish I'm not after can easily fill half a tab just from the one spot while trying to get one thing.
If the fish are going to take up so much space and if everyone else only needs one offhand slot (and that offhand tool even uses the armoury chest, unlike lures/baits), it isn't fair at all to take up another whole page with baits...
No offense is intended but If fair is the question SE shouldn't even debate a tackle box, especially when of the 3 land classes it is the only one that lacks a secondary tool completely, and barring a very technical assessment of how a mini inventory within an inventory causes other jobs some injury when they carry far less items to approach the class the subject of unfair just doesn't wash with me.
Bards don't have arrows to pack around which would probably actually be worse especially if quick knock etc. used multiple arrows, I just don't see how fair plays into this when it's a fisher exclusive issue.
fishing, alchemy and cooking are inventory decimators.
God help you if you do any two or all three.
Yes Please... or I will never get a Lv 50 Fisher...
lol
I did though the same back then. Turns out that I only need like less than a week grinding fisher to cap. Was lvl 14 fisher last time from 1.0. Took like 1 day for that big fishing quest, and 4-5 days farming silver sovereign HQ to get my forager rod.
Still... tackle would be great to help my quest for hunting those big fishes. XD
I'm wondering how hard this would be to implement.
Maybe a tab that's like the "Shards/Crystals" inventory and "Important Items" inventory. Or have the fishing menu have a spot where it can hold the lures/bait. I don't know...
I'd like to see them add the bait box as an off hand tool and the higher the ilvl the more spaces it has. maybe 5 slots for every 10 ilvls so you end up with 25-30 which is the same space as a page in your inventory.
You could just right click bait/lures in your inventory and select 'add to bait box' then that bait will be removed from your inv and show up when you use the bait/lure skill on fisher.
I don't see how it should be that hard, it's not like we're asking for something game changing. After all, we just want an off-hand like the other gathering classes, and a place to hold our baits. It's not like we're asking for free space, just a place to keep the tools for the job. It's not like bards have to keep several stacks of arrows in their inventory; and, if gunner is the same, it's not like they are going to have to keep several stacks of bullets. So a Fisher shouldn't have to house a bunch of bait in it's inventory.
Hell, it doesn't even have to be a page or two of space. We can just have a tackle box for off-hand, and our bait can automatically be housed in it. Then we can click something that opens a drop-box to choose the bait we want to use from the selection we own.
All this talk about tackle boxes makes me want to go buy some rubber worms to leave in amusing places.
Commence the rioting!

Tackle box is a must gave! ;^; please add in
Make the Tackle Box an additional mission. Once complete, it appears in your Key Items section. Any bait obtained there after would be stored in the tackle box and you would select it the exact same way you do now when changing bait while fishing.

What kind of a fisherman doesn't have a tackle box?
Still no dev response? All we need is a yes or no to stop the riots :'(
Unfortunately, I think SE doesn't care about fishing...
1) The fishers have the most useless master ring: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/a4feae17055/ (GP+22? Really?)
2) We already have a topic like this: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...eeded-for-bait (First post was in September 2013.... no dev response)
Had a few of these requests in the alpha/beta forums too.
The amount of space Fisher takes to take more space... it's poopy. lol
Please add it SE :)
Edit: ( as per second post.. I also liked GW2 crafting materials situation, easy craft east management)
