Norg. Yes, yes that would be grand.

Please, God no.... we don't need another one of these nightmares XD
And actually, I think Pandemonium Warden beats out Absolute Virtue in the "Boss of Bosses" department... If only because if you can't beat Absolute Virtue within 18 hours, your doing something wrong. But with Pandemonium Warden it actually initially took over 18 hours, and the first group to fight him still hadn't beaten him. In Pandemonium Warden's case the Dev's had to install a battle timer where if you don't beat him in a set amount of time, he leaves the battlefield!
Pandemonium Warden is actually probably where the Battle Timers in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for things like Duties and Fate's originated from.
Did ya'll forget about this secret boss from FFIX? (My Favorite FF game)

The Last Remnant is a fantastic Xbox 360 and Windows JRPG BY Square Enix, and it has a pretty nice group of major boss enemies that could be instilled into XIV and make for fantastic and difficult fights.
Examples:
The Conqueror: http://images.wikia.com/lastremnant/..._Artwork_2.jpg
The Gates of Hell: http://gengame.net/wp-content/upload...ell-screen.png
The Magnificent Seven: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...cent_Seven.jpg
Plenty of other big normal enemies that would make for great fights too.

in theory the story of dissidia allows for chaos and cosmos
Now.. she isn't from a RPG, but I think it would be a real challenge for all those Hotshot mentality people showing off their unweathered weapons and what not..

Meet Hibachi!
Wanna know what's worse? Shes a WEAKENED version to her REAL form ;)
Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls. :)
Bard's Tale 3's Tarjan. He came with a couple groups of 31 (per group) very nasty monsters that would OHKO (its been a while, so I forget if they deathtouched, or just turned you to stone) and tries to summon enough each round to replenish whatever noes you managed to kill.
Of course, an encounter similar to Might and Magic 2 : Gates to Another World's final encounter would certainly make things interesting, and remove any fears of "just another tank'n'spank".
That said, I'd love to fight Ghaleon again. Excuse me while I go turn my SegaCD on to pummel him a bit. THERE was a final boss worth fighting!
I went through this whole thread and nobody posted this yet? For shame!
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...b/Sephirot.jpg
Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that if they added him to a MMORPG, it would result in a 50+ hour long boss fight (with no bathroom breaks)?
I created an Expy of the Mithra Ark Angel in the form of a Miqo'te Gladiator, does that count?
+++++++++++++
Also, like the guy who posted about going through this entire thread and not seeing Sephiroth, here is another that I went through the entire thread for and don't think I saw:

EDIT: oh oops, there was one person who mentioned him, but my pic is so much more epic than his...

Because why not?
And for a more serious answer, I would love to see this lot reimagined in the FFXIV universe:

Reno as a catboy and Rude as a Roe just make too much sense.
Something that would fit, as direct opponent in some RAID encounter, the huge attak/dropship from FFXIII
Only so long as I get the pleasure of having this individual turned into a catgirl as well:

Gonna second the Axem Rangers.
Non-FF related I would want this glorious bastard.

FF related if only because I think he's absolutely ridiculous and would love to see how they'd implement him:

I would like to explore it from the inside, like a dungeon or a raid.
On FFXII it wasn't so it doesn't have to be here either.
Meh, auto mode with the proper gambits. It just took a long time. Omega was a **** though. FFXIV needs that one boss that cannot be beaten, that looms over everyone's head and which one can play that role better but omega?
Actually slight correction... its more like Ultima (aka Ultima Weapon or Ultimate Weapon) is basically Omega with another name. Ultima didn't appear in Final Fantasy II until the 2004 remake. Omega on the other hand first appeared in Final Fantasy V all the way back in 1992, over a decade before Ultima appeared in Final Fantasy II. In fact Ultimate Weapon didn't make his official debut into the Final Fantasy world until Final Fantasy VII in 1997 alongside of Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon and Diamond Weapon (though different Weapons were present in the different national releases of the game).
Er... oops, I thought you said IV.... hold on....
Eh... heh... heh... you're right. Atma Weapon was the ported name for Ultima Weapon in Final Fantasy VI. Though I don't think he was categorized as a Super-Boss in that game as he is an unavoidable boss. You have to fight him. The thing that distinguishes most Super Bosses in Final Fantasy Games is that they are almost unilaterally all optional content. And Super Bosses was what I was under the impression that we were discussing.
But if you want to get technical, you are correct, my statement that Ultimate Weapon made his first appearance in Final Fantasy VII, is in fact in error. That said, Omega still beats him by 2 years. Also of interesting note, Omega also made an appearance in Final Fantasy VI, and was in fact the actual technical super boss of that game.
As for making OmegaWeaponsimply an EX version of Ultima Weapon, that would really be doing Omega's legacy a great disservice. Historically Omega has been and will continue to be the absolute power check in almost any game that he has been present in. He is rivaled only be the likes of Ozma, Absolute Virtue, and Pandemonium Warden. Seriously it isn't even a comparison. If he is introduced into this game, he will be an untimed fight, he will require a full 24 man alliance, and he will require at least item level 110 gear on all characters in the fight and near perfect play. Simply put, he will make Ultimate Weapon look like a chump by comparison, as he always has.
Most of the time Omega is not the same as Ultima, except some times when it's a recoloration, but basically Ultima is like this (First appearance FFVI) :
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...pon_TAYPSP.png
And Omega is (First appearance FFV) :
http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...FV_Artwork.jpg
Nothing is really technical in FF6 with the 5xUltima combo xD.
I passed nearly every boss on auto mode back in time. Only Ultima (too many status change) and zodiark (that one is a bitc*) needed my hand. :/ FFXII wasn't exactly what we could call a "hard game". Beautiful though.
you're mixing Omega and Omega weapon.
Omega indeed appeared in FFV, but Omega weapon appeared in FFVIII for the first time in the series and borrowed Ultima weapon's artwork. On the other hand, Ultima weapon appeared in FFVI for the first time, but mistranslated as Atma Weapon out of Japan.
and here you're mixing with re-edition of the games ^^
Omega weapon got its place in FFVI only with the advance portage, like omega got its place in FFI and Ultima weapon became the guardian of the Ultima book in FFII in the Dawn of Soul GBA portage
Well, stickiig with licences since its feasible...
Pison, Red Pison and Metal Pison need to be back, and just as annoying with color changing boss.
Gorsia would be an interesting dungeon boss too.
Both are from 7th saga.
well barring the fact that Final Fantasy VI (and most of the other pre-final fantasy X games) had some of the most broken mechanics and glitches in the world (w-item glitch anyone? infinite items via trading cc club?), that doesn't change the fact that those two bosses aren't really anything like each other at all other than both being widely considered by most people to be super-bosses in most of the games that they are in.
Okay, you make a fair point. I was mainly referring to Omega, and just assumed that Omega Weapon was a dumbed down version of Omega. But you are correct it would seem. In keeping with that correction I would like to quantify my earlier statement.
Omega would be the boss that would require no timer, a 24 man alliance, item level 110 gear and near perfect play to beat.
Omega Weapon however would be a reasonable upgrade to EX for Ultimate Weapon.
Okay, fair point. I missed that on the description of Super Bosses on the wiki. I had to actually look at the description of Omega Weapon to actually perceive that distinction.
There is no greater swordsman in any other RPG.
