If you already have a lvl 50, you should be getting gear from dungeons for your next class.
Relic - 2 materia isn't that much. You can also find alternative weapons of higher quality if you concentrate on your main a while.
A FC house is NOT that expensive. You should have a group of people earning money for it. I could earn the money in a week or two, but I'd just be bored of watching the market boards by then. Just start thinking outside the box and finding high demand items for money, or learn to craft.

Um... My wife and I play casually... We have a 2 year old so we aren't hardcore by any means. We rode the progression train, your whiny ass can, too. I'm sitting at ilvl90 and have been playing for less than 2 months.
Edit: btw, I have over 1 million gil and have levelled all crafters to 30+ They haven't been profitable yet, actually a gil sink. I had 1.5 mil at one point. Spend some time farming desired materials like diremite webs and fleece. Doesn't take long at all to get what you need. I also bought my relc materia and I required the most expensive ones. Other than that, I haven't bough a single piece of gear. Its all CT/Myth/Soldiery gear

In 2.1 I made roughly 10k per day.
Now I make up to a million per day.
Your point, exactly?

Yes they do but you have to go to the back alleys of Ul'dah and know the secret handshake or they'll shoo you away.

The issue here is their progression. They barely have requirements. There's never any reason for you to get full i70 gear, and then progress towards full i80, and then i90, it's never required. So people just farm myth and jump straight to i90 because the lower stuff is useless (you'll easily hit the iLvl requirements with a couple i90 pieces). When I was gearing up my BLM, SMN, WAR, WHM I did it this exact same way. There needs to be better progression, where you NEED full i70 to be able to get into the dungeons required for myth tomes, but this is of course impossible because you can just farm the tomes on your better geared character
