I was having this problem since they released the patch. 2002 errors every time I attempted to connect to the NA datacenter.

I was browsing a forum today and someone mentioned flushing your dns cache and it actually worked for me. I can connect to the datacenter and now 554 in queue lol

for me (using windows 8) just open up a command promp and "ipconfig /flushdns"

not sure if this'll work for you, but it's worth a shot, seems to have fixed my problems

Origanlly was getting 5006 error a few times this morning (roughly 7am PDT), but could then get in and play fine. Now at roughly 4:40pm PDT I'm getting non-stop 2002 errors for ONLY the Aether data center. I can get into any other data center just fine, so it's not an issue with my system or the routes between me and the servers. Is this even being worked on for Aether????

If it wasn't for the fact the game doesn't update if you change from a USB output device I would have been fine, I was just in. But then I left my headset plugged in and need to relaunch the game to get it coming out of my speakers and now - 2002 forver

Same issue for me. Non-stop 2002 for the Aether data center since 6PM EST. Very frustrating to say the least considering my available time to even play this game is quite limited. The worst part is being knocked out of the game entirely and having to enter my passwords all over again.

Adamantiose is getting me a 2002 here also. Early release means early connection bugs. Given yesterday went too smoothly, probably should have seen this coming.

Error 2002 as well. I get up at 5 am (CST) and it logs right in. Since Friday, I have logged in to Aether data center 1 time (in the afternoon when I can play), was put in queue, then got the 2002 error about 15 minutes later :(

Same 2002 error. I was able to connect once on 6/19, and once earlier today 6/20, but have had 2002 errors and crashes many many more times when connecting to Aether DC. Would like to see more from SE on these errors, as the launcher only has one link indicating the problem is resolved

same here error 2002 on Aether data center, Jenova server....... I guess we can forget Heavensward until tuesday....

I am glad to see it's not just me haha. Hopefully square are nice and compensate us. Why did I make all my characters on the one server? :( I pay more and this crap happens lol.
Should we all open tickets until we see a fix? My days off are running out so beyond losing my 2 days game time I won't be able to play until next weekend. *sigh*

Seriously guys, this is some bullcrap, it's been 7+ hours. Fix the goddamn servers, I think people's patience only lasts so long.

I just started FF14 22 days ago. I have been enjoying it whenever I have had a chance to play it, and now that HW is about to come out I have been trying to log in, but all I get is error 2002 like everybody else on Aether's Data Center. This is frustrating. Thank goodness I don't have a sub for this game if this is what happens.

Before I sub I am going to wait a bit to see if things decide to shape up. If they don't, they lot a potential sub. If they do, then most likely I'll sub.

Also I have tried EVERYTHING to fix error 2002. Every tip and trick that I have found hasn't fixed it for me.

Been going on for me since EA launch. I can't get in and it is annoying re-entering my password and one time password over, and over, and over, and over, and over, etc.

all day with these i know its was for all new ppl but try to fix it

Adding myself and my fiancee to the 2002 list. Aether -> Balmung, can take 30+ times to get to character select, can still 2002 before getting through the queue.

I'm in the same regret boat as many others about resubscribing :(

I'm on Aether > Siren which is a pretty normal sized server. I got in this morning but the past hour I've constantly retried. and nothing. i bought the game and I would like to play it? Almost regretting giving the extra 20 bucks for CE.

It's not the server that's the issue, it's the data-center. Aether has all the highly-populated servers. The server itself is fine.

I just joined the 2002 club. We better at least get free tshirts.

Yep, Error 2002 for me al day since Heavensward update. Aether data center, Balmung Server. I have been lucky twice in getting through, but that is out of the many numerous times I have tried. Honestly SE, you'd think you would have figure things out by now. Please, get it fixed or I am just gonna go back to GW2 or Archage.

Just go back to gw2 for like the next week or two. People are showing up that haven't seriously played the game in a long time and they'll get sick enough of shiny new things and move back on, then it'll be playable again. Sucks that the "early access" was a lie, though, since there's no access at all for a lot of us ._.

Also, SE never really learned anything about server congestion and stability since the launch of 2.0.This happens with every major update, and this is an /expansion./ To expect them to learn anything about proper server and data center management by now...we are clearly expecting too much. Might as well ask a frog to fly as ask them to learn from past mistakes o.o

Edit: Oh, can we at least please get it so the client doesn't CTD when a data center connection fails? Since you're not going to bother fixing the core issue, ever, can we at least get that bandaid so we don't have to keep constantly restarting the client and entering the password? Mine is really a pain >.<

Agreed. They had this problem with 90k and 5k errors when ARR first launched. Entire data centers were having issues, same as now. Hope this doesn't last as long as it did then.

was able to get in ONCE on Goblin (Aether data center) roughly 10:30am PDT today and only had a 3-person wait queue. Had to log out a few mins later for family issues, and now I'm back to 2002 error all over again and haven't been able to get in for the last hour. This is getting beyond the 'aggravating' stage, Squenix.

Day 3 of early access and not being able to connect again! I kinda want my money back, why did I pay for early access when I cant even play. I have read from people that this is not a fixable issue because its the same stuff that went on in 2.0 and beta. They say that its because two of the most populated servers are on the same Data Center and that we just have to deal with not getting on because of the traffic overload. Here is my issue with that: 1) First since SE saw this happen in 2.0, they should have known this was gonna be an issue in 3.0 and should have taken action and get ahead of it. 2) It is absolutely fixable suck it up and split up the data center, upgrade the data center for more users, or at the very least if a user cant connect to a data center don't crash their game. Have it move to the previous window, so they can click again to try to reconnect.

I'm mostly frustrated on the fact that I have to reopen my game, re enter my password, rewatch the SE made this stuff advertising, and wait for the main menu to appear each time I fail to connect to a data center. Its less that I cant connect but that when I don't connect but how the game reacts when you don't connect.

Also once I do finally connect to a data center, then click to connect to world I then get forced into a false countdown of users in Que. One time was 533 users in Q, and it started to count down and with in 10 mins or so I was connected. But what I'm talking about is sometimes I'll get 1 user in Q or 17 in Q whatever, and then it'll sit there for an hour not counting down at all. Then you back out to reconnect data center and it crashes game.

Please give us a sign that you are actually reading these SE :( I havent seen any offical posts saying that you are working ont his, only a post saying hey its busy suck it up. :P Well yea its busy you should of known it was going to be, fix it.

Getting this same error myself.....its very strange this is the first time ive seen it.

Just adding that I was playing just fine and got disconnected from the server, and have been getting 2002 when I try to log in ever since. It only happens for Aether, Primal, and Chaos data centers and happens on both PC and PS4.

Getting 2002 errors anytime I try to connect to NA Data Centers for the past two days. Can connect to Japan DC's just fine. Extremely Frustrating

This is bullshit. Why hasn't this been fixed yet?

Sigh...all I want to do is play the game...

2002 for the last four hours. I'm on a PS4 and on the Aether Data Center.

And like some of the above have stated, I really am getting annoyed that I spent both my time and money to get early access, but I haven't been able to actually enjoy it.

I think its the Aether data center cause I can get into others my character isnt on .

I can confirm that this error has only been happening to me on the Aether, Primal, and Chaos Data Servers.

I'm getting this too for some reason. It was fine in the morning. :/

So now I'm able to connect to the data server but I still can't login to my character because the server is too full.

Edit: Nvm, It's giving me that data server error again.

It's almost as if Square Enix is saying "Hey, we don't care about you. Go play another game." In which case, I will.
